    love how your city street is streamlined for illustration. It be awesome to see a tutorial just on creating cityscapes.

      Hi alexbendo, I’m happy you like the city street. I’ve shown a few techniques on how to achieve such details in a previous video, but I might indeed do a full blown tutorial someday in the future. It’s based on a kitbashing method with freestyle line render applied. I’ll see if I can make a more in-depth video one day. Wishing you all the best on your creative journey. 😉👍🏻

    I just recently added Blender as a tool for my drawings. Avoided the program because it's such a steep learning curve, but with a recent art piece I did, it makes things so much easier. This is a great look into it's potential! I'll be incorporating it more and more as I learn the program.

      I’m happy to hear that you’re finding your way around Blender. It has indeed crazy potential and keeps on getting better and better with each release. And all of this for free! We live in wonderful times. 😉👍🏻 Wishing you all the best on your creative journey.

      For a long time I was intimidated by Blender. Then one day I realized, "I don't have to master Blender in order to enjoy it or find it useful. I just need to learn how to do one thing, and the skills necessary to do that... then just keep iterating that process, and enjoy the journey."

      That sounds indeed like a very solid plan buddy. I did the exact same and have been enjoying blender ever since. 😉👍🏻

      Thanks Paul. I’ve really come to enjoy asset libraries. They take a long time to create, but once you have the assets, they become very valuable. I’m definitely planning on expanding my libraries over time as it just speeds up my workflow so much!

      @@artofdavidarroyo Do you know if there is a place where I can download other people's libraries. And if I want to search for myself what keywords should I look for?

      Hi mikamanp00p9, sorry for not answering earlier. I’ve been quite busy lately. There are plenty of really great kitbash libraries online, however they rarely come for free. You can easily find plenty of free 3D objects and even scenes on websites such as sketchfab.com. There are also lots of paid models there, but they have a very nice 3D library to look at and even learn from. As for free characters and character animations, you can have a look at Adobe’s Mixamo content. You can find it at www.mixamo.com.
      Then there is the website kitbash3d.com that specializes in professional kitbash libraries. They look amazing, but also have a high price tag. There are also some free ones here, but not many. As a conclusion… specialized libraries with additional freestyle line render setups don’t exist as far as I’m aware. I’ve just made some for myself and never put them up for sale as they’re too specific to the needs of my projects. I don’t think many people would benefit from them because of that.
      Anyways, I hope this helps. I know the info came in a bit late and you might have done your own research by now, but I still wanted to reply and help if possible. I’m gonna wish you all the best in your creative journey. 😉👊🏻

    can you do a tutorial to make those assets for the windows, sidewalk, street, wall, front door, etc, just for a basic setup? and I assume you made your own basic meshes?

    • @artofdavidarroyo
      @artofdavidarroyo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shakaama, I will see if I can somehow fit it in into my busy schedule. I’m currently finishing up a tutorial series on the basics of the Unreal Engine and I’m planning on taking a well deserved break after that. Maybe somewhere after my short break, I might look into that. And yes... all these meshes were made by me. I like to create my own asset libraries that work well with my production cycle within comics. 😉

With three kids at home and lots of students each year, my plate tends to be quite full teaching all of this stuff with no time left to work on my own projects. I’m still trying to figure out which procedure I like the most. Blender and 3D provide great flexibility and can potentially speed up production quite a lot, but other times it’s nice to just not have to deal with any technical stuff and just draw or paint. I’m a big fan of both worlds. 😉👍🏻

    These assets, is there a free warehouse in blender where users can use. Or a person who wants to make comics have to create every object in Blender?

    • @artofdavidarroyo
      @artofdavidarroyo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dio Brando, blender does have the ability to connect to and import asset libraries. In some cases you’ll find the right one for you, but in other cases you’ll have to either build the items yourself or buy them from existing asset packs. Also don’t forget that the items that I’ve showcased here are all ready to be used with freestyle line renders as I’ve optimized them for that reason. This is something you won’t find online or within any blender library that I know so far. Anyone can turn on freestyle line renders and change the settings on any mesh, but what I’ve done goes a step further because I’ve created my geometry to serve the line art functionality (something that’s not advised when traditionally modeling) Take the example of how I’ve done the bricks on the wall assets… traditionally you’d use a texture for that instead. I hope that helps and I wish you all the best on your creative journey. 🙂👍🏻
