Best part was the next day at HobbyTown the manager saw me and told me that they ordered 2. One for the store and One for me! The RC Car industry is missing a HUGE market by avoiding these "classic" style solid axle monster trucks. These cars literally kicked off the industry in the 80s. They are just insanely fun as you can drive them indoors just as outdoors and they look great.
I bought my son a losi gravedigger and he bought this for me. We got them for each other for Christmas. We’ve been having a blast. Already rebuilt the front end on the Gravedigger. Quite a steep curve for our first true RC trucks. I’ve run this truck into things at speed inadvertently and it’s been solid so far. Flipped it numerous times on the concrete and the body is holding up with just scuffs. He loves Monster Jam and I grew up with Bigfoot as the OG. Good quality time with these trucks between my son and I!

@rcdriver thanks Greg. Would you be willing to do a vxl swap project to it for us. Maybe with all the traxxas custom parts? Id watch that!!. Anyway take care and have a great day
I like the previous bigfoot body, and it was $130 cheaper for that brushed system (I thought the bl2s was to simply replace the brushed??).... This one is priced the same as the Jato 4x4 2s
I have the Bigfoot with the clips then I have the clipless Bigfoot with the brushless motor now I have this one coning this week. Also have the traxxas Gravedigger for 12-23 years ago still going strong. Cant wait for this bigfoot to touch down
Very cool but I find it stupid that they put short course style wheels on it. Takes away from the durability. I want as much rubber as possible on my monster trucks
Looks amazing to be honest. And seems to perform well. Not impossible that this will be my first Traxxas (most probably a nitro but you never know 😂) as usual a great review 👍

Got back into RC after many years about 3 years ago. Bought my son a 2wd Stampede to start. Ended up replacing the entire front end with RPM as the stock stuff all broke so easily and this is just 2S brushed. Later got a Granite 3S and it’s 2x or 3x the vehicle and probably the same price once I replaced all the crappy parts on the Stampede. Don’t like it, don’t buy it. It’s that simple. Enjoy the hobby and go buy what makes you smile. I dig this thing. But $350 is a bit steep. I only paid $429 for my 3s VXL Stampede, and $450 for my 4s Arrma outcast. Great video regardless, Greg.
That's the problem. Not many of us "haters" actually hate Traxxas products. But their pricing is absolutely outrageous for what you get. Their trucks are a great product, but when you can get something thats twice as fast and just as tough for the same price, it's extremely difficult to defend them. We leave negative comments in hope that Traxxas will grow a brain and overhaul their pricing. But guess what? They won't.. because their hardcore followers would buy a soda bottle with wheels on it for $300 as long as it says "Traxxas" on the side, and Traxxas knows it. The main issue is that anyone with a brain would buy a different Brand's version of a vehicle. For example, I REALLY want a Slash Ultimate and Raptor R, but for $530, I can get a 1/8 4S Arrma Mojave, 6S Arrma Typhon, or even a Baja Rey for the same price as Traxxas' 3S 1/10 Short Course Truck with a slipper clutch.. And when we match price points, the Jato 2S, Typhon 223S, and Syncro 4S are around the same price. The Jato is th only one with a slipper clutch of those 3 buggies.. the Jato only goes 25 mph, while the Typhon and Syncro go 50 mph. And no, the Jato is not tougher than either of them. It doesn't handle any better, especially due to the lack of a center diff. It's not easier to work on. There is no reason whatsoever to go with the Jato at that price point. Unless you're (as I said before) a complete closed minded Traxxas only fanboy. I would love to own a lot of Traxxas stuff.. but it's impossible to justify buying one of their products when there's a competing model from other brands that are either just significantly more affordable, or just completely outclass the Traxxas model at the same price. It's just sad.
Yea I LOVE traxxas but there prices are to high compared to the competition its not even close makes me laugh thou that leave it to traxxas to come out with a brushless system that goes slower than there brushed I know it's mostly the extra drag from the 4x4 drivetrain vs the rwd brushed big foot but it still doesn't feel good to pay more for a slower monster truck with a cheaper body

Love the body, wish they'd do a proper scale straight axle monster truck though for us monster truck lovers. Love my LMT wonder if that body would fit.
That body looks great, especially being captive on the chassis. And it seems to handle decently. Nice driving. I'm not a fan of that exposed steering setup, it loves to catch rocks on all their other cars I've had. Easy to knock out, though. Does seem mild compared to most cars, but I kinda like needing to build speed, makes it feel more scale. Edit: Traxxas pricing department is drunk again.
This new Stampede platform is much better then the old one. Now if only traxxas will update the chassis on the Stampede 2wd. Longer wheelbase and lower center of gravity would be great. The Stampede 2wd now is just too unstable to the point of being annoying.
I honestly just like it because it's actually a solid color rtr body. Am I the only one who is tired of these entirely too busy rtr body "paint" jobs? Also, I'd love to see it with Clod sized wheels and tires on it
Yes it should because it says it can handle 7 cell nickel metal hydride batteries and they are 10.5v max The voltage should be approximately 1.4V to 1.5V per cell (8.4-9V for a 6-cell, 9.8-10.5V for a 7-cell). Your HV batteries are 8.7v max charge so shouldn't be a problem. I think Traxxas has something coming batteries wise for this BL2S system because I put my mini maxx battery in my Jato 4x4 and it was way faster and a lot more punch than my new 5800mah Traxxas battery. The mini max seem perfect on 2S Traxxas battery and so does the Jato 4x4 on the mini maxx battery. I have also tried 100C 2S batteries and the mini maxx battery was still way faster and quicker. I will try the mini maxx battery out on the Bigfoot next week when I pick mine up and see if I get the same results, which I should because the same BL2S system in it. Then again I like controllable power not insane out of control power. I like having fun driving and jumping not repairing it all the time, but that's just me because I'm an old man.
Hi Greg. Nice run and details on the new Bigfoot RC. Did you get to speed test it? What was the top speed? Looks like there will be some upgrades to for it. Thanks for sharing. 🏁🏁⭐️🏁🏁
I don’t consider it to be “hating” when a company puts out junk and we speak up about it. If the manufacturer doesn’t hear any complaints about their weak points they’ll never improve on them. I think people should be required to take a physics course before they are able to comment about the durability of RC cars online.
I didn't know education determined freedom of speech.
Y he said should “ 😂
@@Maximum_spirit Education determines the quality of speech.
@@Maximum_spirithe is saying I f they understood physics they wouldn’t be saying dumb things about why it shouldn’t have broken
So now we need a physics degree from MIT to express our opinions as consumers? Did you know most companies value customer feedback to improve their products? You are an i.d.i.o.t.
Now…can we fit bigger tires!?
It’s cool but it’s just a stampede 4x4 with different tires and a body lol
nice
24mph for 2s brushless is insanely underwhelming. Why not release it with the xl5 system at the point? Would save everyone some 💵
Nice, but rather wrench a reg Grey chassis XL5 2wd, slap a $40 BF body & a used vxl system for $125, tsm receiver included & $70 on RPM all around. Now , cant afford this one. Mines faster, though lol Pink Slips ?
save $100 get a omni terminator and a new body .........
and never be able to use it again when it breaks as there are no spare parts, yeah great idea
@@triv7252 right? 😂
@@triv7252 when i ordered mine i got some spares but after 6 months still have yet to break it .
@@triv7252 Rlaarlo sells spare parts 🤣
@@triv7252whatcha mean no spare parts? There all over Amazon and other online sellers. Not everybody has a hobby store within reasonable distance so they have to order online. In that case they'll have to wait for parts no matter what.
There is no replacement for the piece of crap I absolutely love - The stampede. It has not changed since 1995.
The only thing traxxas is good at is making good bodies lol that the only traxxas products I'll own!!!
They got the wheel tire scale and look so wrong. Ugh. Makes it look like a Walmart toy.
I hate the CVD joints on this car. Same crapy CVD joint on my 2wd brushless stampade!
You have to upgrade them or the pins will come out !!!
4x4 steering??
People are going to put a 6s system and then call it junk when it breaks
Only if Traxxas clearly states that it can easily handle 6S on the website.
Sigh... It's unfortunate how things are going.
falls apart out of the box on 2s .... 4s it will implode
Nah, it's all ready junk on 2s😂
@ they are the same knuckleheads that think Tamiyas are junk. They can't help themselves. They're Neanderthals
It looks like a Walmart RC. Traxxas fail!
Why not a solid axle build ? Not very Big Foot of them.
