This is so cool. I feel like I am in heaven watching this video with the sunset, clouds taking a ride east of Denver during rush hour. It is so cool with some background music of the song of my choice. Thank you for this so much Mileage Mikes Travels. I love the look and feel of Denver and her outer suburbs surrounding areas. I wish I lived there on the front range. There is so much Interdimensional that I sense and feel.

Don't you just love the improperly-named 'rush hour'? Flying down the flatlands on I-70 with those mountains getting closer and closer. Nice view.

I first traveled this highway in August 1972. My family was moving from downstate New York to Arizona. We had been down I-44 from St. Louis to Oklahoma City before and decided to take a different route this time. I-70 was complete from Kansas through Loveland Pass (Eisenhower Tunnel). After hundreds of miles of flat prairie land, we were approaching Denver. It was kind of a cloudy day. As we approached Denver we saw this dark gray, almost black band along the horizon behind it. We thought we were in for a heck of a prairie storm! As we got closer, the dark band became sharper and more pronounced. We thought we were in for a tornado. Then, the details became clearer, and we realized to our astonishment, what we saw were the Rocky Mountains! We were used to the smaller, rounder, Appalachian Mountains. Never having been this far north on our prior trips west through to southern New Mexico, we were wowed! The Continental Divide in New Mexico, just west of Carlsbad is not as mountainous as it is in Colorado.

Beautiful ride, the sound of the overpass at 6:20 also seems very interesting, similar to FL pavement and just lower

Excellent video Mileage Mike. The express lane is a good timesaver except for that maneuver one has to make if a person wishes to access I-25 from the express lane at the very end. I know it is a cost benefit thing but still, I hope it won't be the scene of crashes.

For now, the tolls are waived, but I don't know when the tolls will go into effect.

CDOT should have built an express flyover from WB-70 to SB-25/NB-25 to EB 70 to help with traffic between DIA and downtown.

Wow, I-70 done really changed! If it was still at its old version, traffic would be seriously more worse, I'll tell you that.

Very well done! I had never seen (up until now) how I-70 intersected/interchanged with I-25, and this may be the only way I actually get to see that (as well as the streets and highways of the Mile High City proper).

Ah yes Denver, the Mile High City! I-70 thru Denver from I-25 to Quebec St. used to be elevated before I-70 went under the park...like what you saw in this video.

I-70 through Denver is way better than it was before. However the 3rd lane really should pick up around E 470.

Can't believe you're already in Colorado after being up in the North east for a while
I suppose you're either going to Seattle or Los Angeles

Not this year most likely. Just went to Denver to meet up with some people and hang out. West coast will likely be 2024

If I has to be stuck in traffic in Denver, at least there is a great view of the Rocky Mountains in the background (I'm assuming those are the Rockys)

At the start of this video how fair out from the City of Denver was you. I am talking about the true Denver City Limits, not counting the suburbs. And how fair from the downtown core was you? I also guessing you was going about 75 to 78 MPH.

Thought Denver was more hilly and mountains but it is flat and not mountainous until west of area. 🧐

Denver sits on the High Plains. It is just east of the Rocky Mountains. It is not actually in the mountains.

    • @gosnooky
      @gosnooky 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

The city itself is rather flat, as it sits at the edge of the plains and mountains. The western metro area is quite hilly, but the hills undulate in a way that roads can still be straight but go up and down gentle hills.

In 2017 my boyfriend at the time and I decided we were going to move from the Washington DC area to the Seattle Washington area via road trip…let’s just say I never made it to Seattle and have been in Denver ever since. Something about this place 😢❤😍 not for nothing, if I ever leave here it will more than likely be to the PNW

I find Denver a very fascinating city and her front ranger of Foothills and beautiful mountains. I live outside Saint Louis, MO. I have had desires and wish to move to Highland Rench and live in big, beautiful 4 to 5 Bedroom house with 2 main floors, walk out basement and 3 car garage.
