In my opinion, Success and happiness are very much related if one defines success correctly. In my opinion, ultimate success is to reach the highest potential or purpose of ones capacity, which is defined by ones perspective, and that isn't as black and white as saying this is this or that and if this then this or by getting this you can have that. Also, there is such a thing as neurotic laughter and psychotic enjoyment from the suffering of others, as well as joyful sadness, so it really comes down to how you are measuring the "success." I want to be a rockstar with abunch of money and time- got it. Still not happy. I want to achieve my highest purpose and push the envelope of possibility for all sentient beings to be able to in turn propel the possibilities and potential of the cosmic organism further into what is actually possible. Happiness can be the 'fluttering butterfly that lands on me from time to time when I'm not paying attention.' No disrespect man, sorry if I annoyed you.

Wide range, different sounds, yet still distinctly him. And all the guest vocalists - Marta, Francesca, Bella, so many, but my faves are Martina, Mina Rose, and Oh Land. I've listened more to him over the years than any other artist.

He was very popular in his niche in 90's though, a years of prime time of trip-hop and electronic music. He was on radio, tv, films etc. It's just too difficult to carry your audience through 30 years if it wasn't big enough and without big investments.

I think he means money, and professional success doesn't buy happiness- and it doesn't, it just affords a new plateau, a new standard of living, from which to seek it. A financially successful person becomes less worried about matters that are lower on the hierarchy of needs, and can occupy his/her time with matters of greater/higher importance, such as self-realization/actualization- which I think (other than leaving a successful legacy behind) is the highest form of success a person can achieve. It's much too complex to simplify or generalize for everybody equally across the board. Tricky's just being Tricky.

Saw Tricky open up for Tool's Lateralus tour at Irvine Meadows in early 2000's. Tricky was very Trippy but so was Tool. Interesting combination.
