As soon as I heard Caleb Hyles' cover of this song from Set It Off, I just knew that it had to be paired with Ace Attorney! It fits so perfectly, and needed to be put to something!
But I was surprised that I couldn't find an AMV with these two yet, so I decided to undergo the challenge! And man, did I have a lot of fun! It's been forever since I made a music video! And I have to say, this is my magnum opus, by far!
Ace Attorney is one of my absolute favorite series right now, and its memorable characters and touching stories are what I love most of all. I've come to greatly appreciate the struggles and adversity Phoenix and the cast face to better themselves, and those around them. But that couldn't be accomplished without the presence of the amazing antagonists we're given to face off against in the battlegrounds of the court.
I'm so glad I was able to upload this the day of the release for Spirit of Justice, and I can't wait for more great times with my favorite attorneys!

I just realized with the pic of Phoenix, Apollo and Athena and their respective villains it's Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil and See No Evil
And that perfectly matchs with their respective abilities...
Athena- Has very sensitive ears
Phoenix- His mouth is enough for everything
Apollo- He can perceive a person's habit
Plus, those are the respective senses that lead to their doom...
1) In the last case, because of Athena's super hearing, she was able to identify the feeling of fear in the Phantom's heart and that lead to his doom
2) Pheonix's mouthwas enough to defeat Dahlia in the court
3) With the ability to percieve, Apollo was able to find that one thing(the devil in Kristoph's hand) that defeated Kristoph.
So yeah, this image has a tonne of details in it

This video has spawned a new headcanon in my mind where in the AA universe, Klavier wrote a song very similar to this one when he was with the Gavinners. It’s assumed to be about the criminals he’s caught while prosecuting, but it’s actually about Kristoph.
To me, this sounds like a song Klavier would sing to Kristoph.

This picture fits so well with each of their powers! For instance, Phoenix is no speak evil and the magatama (however the frick you spell it!) allows you to detects lies and you lie by speaking. Apollo’s is no see evil so the bracelet allows you to see the tiniest movements and that requires you to be able to see. Athena’s is no hear evil because her mood matrix allows her to hear the voice of people’s hearts which is why her’s is no hear evil! Not to mention they have their own special villain on each one of there’s!

Fantastic video! When I first heard this song I thought exclusively of Dahlia Hawthorn, but I can understand why you would have it for all of the villains. Because let's be honest, in a series like Ace Attorney, there just aren't enough character animations to do it for just one.

I'm very happy that you enjoyed the video! Dahlia is actually one of my favorite Ace Attorney villains. And you're right, it would be hard to stretch out the entire song with just her. But I felt like I could make a stronger story highlighting all of the villains. :)

Yeah, she's definitely one of the best villains. She's also unique in that she's the only true villain of a game that isn't also the true killer of the final case.

I have to say, this was awesome. I was just sat there silently thanking you for creating such a video. The song works so WELL with the villains, especially the 'final boss' villains (Dahlia, Manfred, etc.)... And let's not forget that your editing skills are awesome... I'm always in awe of anyone who can work so well with the sprites and game clips and stuff. XD

I always thought there was no way to make a music video for Ace Attorney almost exclusively with game assets. Pleased to see, I was very wrong!
I'm not too fond of the use of swears in the song, but I can't deny that I had a grin on my face this entire video because goodness, this was freaking epic! I especially loved the hear/see/speak no evil" and the little shots of the WAA against their games' antagonist with the main prosecutor. This just fits so perfectly with the series. I love this! Fantastic work! :D
I'm so sorry about the swearing, (I honestly don't care for vulgar language either) but the song worked too well for me to pass up. The moments you mentioned happen to be the most fun to edit (as well as Klavier's flaming flashbacks), so I'm glad to hear that someone enjoyed them!
Also, good job noticing the corresponding prosecutors and defense attorneys! I wasn't sure if someone was going to notice that!

I didn't actually have high expectations clicking into this, but this was awesome! The editing was great, you got some of the lyrics to fit wonderfully, and it really was quite suiting.

Thanks a ton! I'm glad that you liked it! I actually find Godot to be more of an anti-hero in the grand scheme of things, so I added him in as a prosecutor parallel to Phoenix instead.
That's fair. I feel like his grudge against Phoenix was unjustified and the pain he caused was irreparable and came from a place of rage and wrathfulness, but it's certain that he isn't an abject villain, I suppose.
Again, fantastic work. Nice bit with putting in the PL vs AA scene. That cutscene made me cry like a baby when I first saw it because I love Maya so much. D:

Hi, Miss Miney! Ah man, as much as I would love to make an updated version utilizing all of the games, (which I still have yet to play) I'm sorry to say that the song just isn't long enough for me to fit in the ever expanding roster of villains. So, it's unlikely to happen. (Unless inspiration strikes me in how to make it still flow well.)
But there's still a possibility that I might make a new AMV using the other games! Especially AA6! I just need to find the right song that really gets my creativity going! Thank you so much for leaving a comment!

It isn't, but neither is Dual Destinies! At the time of this video, these were all of the main series games that had been released, so I tried to use all of them to the best of my ability!

I only recently began playing Ace Attorney for the first time. The 3DS eShop closure, mixed with all Capcom games for 3DS being on sale, mixed with my birthday being a couple weeks ago, all led to me saying "Why the hell not? Everyone I've seen on the internet mentions Ace Attorney as a must play for DS owners, and it's $3 for the whole trilogy right now. I'd be hella stupid to not get it."
Why did I not play these games sooner? It is so good. I'm only 3 cases in due to work and visual novels not being a preferred genre for me, but I can see Ace Attorney becoming one of my favorite game series. And being only just a little bit in, I can already confirm as a brand new fan that you couldn't have picked a better song to represent all the villains. Lying sacks of shit.
