Beautiful Albania; we just returned from a 5 week vacation in Albania. We visited, Shkoder and Theth in the north, Durres, of course we stayed in Tirana for several days, booked restaurants on the Dajti mountain slope, and one day actually drove about an hour past the mountain to ShenGjergj (Saint George) for a great dinner. We spent many days at the beach starting with two days in Durres, one in Diviaka, then we went to Vlore. While in Vlore we went to Zvernec beach very nice place especially for the kids, the beach is sandy and the water is clean, warm, and shallow; beautiful sunsets there; about two weeks altogether spent at Zvernec beach. We went one day visiting the ancient ruins of Apolonia (near Fier). After Vlore we went to Yale beach for two nights, one night in Dhermi beach, one day in Drimadhe beach; we stayed for six nights in Borsh beach visited Butrint ancient ruins stopped at Ksamil beach for a short time. Visited the city of Himare twice, visited Sarande. We stopped at almost every beach along the way from Vlore to Sarande. One day we drove the highway from the Vlora river and stopped by a small river in the middle of the mountains, there was a stone bridge from 1800s, when we arrived at the bottom of the slope there were several families from Poland and Ukraine bathing on the sand and rocks by the river... it was a beautiful place; quite a hike for us (LOL). Albania is beautiful, and it offers a wide variety for tourists, the mountains, the beach, historical places, and if you have time just go through the country side, the best food and welcoming people. Food prices at good restaurants were not as cheap as Simon is saying here, but definitely much cheaper than in other parts of Europe.
@@CosmicSeeker69 hi , for a small country we are we have a lot touristic sites in Albania ,you can look for Tirana,Durrës,Saranda,Himarë,Dhërmi,Palasë beach, museum of Krujë,Blue eye Saradë region,Korça is beautiful aswell ,Berat city of 1000 windows,Skanderbeg square ,Vlorë ,mount Dajti for those who likes mountains and lot of other places in Albania to explore hope i helped u litlle bit
@@CosmicSeeker69 hi there Albanian leaving in London for almost 30 years. Just a tip . I would suggest Tirana and durres for inland. For a beach i would suggest Vlora and head towards south all the way to saranda but visit the little town between and It could be your favourite spot or your long term settlement
The best thing you can do in Albania is a bit of everything. A couple of days in Tirana, a couple in Durres and then some more in the south or north, exploring cities and villages, mountains, valleys or beaches. For UK prices you can easily afford to rent a car and stop to different locations and have an incredible time. Of course a hotel by the beach 6-7 days is nice too, but travelling around the country is the very best you can do. What I’ve noticed from many foreigners is that they often travel one time to visit the south and then another time to go to the north. This is a very special feature of Albania. A small country but it can easily surprise you with the incredible variety it offers. Big cities like Durres and Tirana are a bit chaotic, whereas the countryside is simply stunning.
Ayy! Welcome in our country, enjoy staying and make sure you'll be all time outside, because there's a huge amount of things that you have to do since you're here 😂 Have a great time! We hope to see you next summer too!
Beautiful country food is great people very nice love Albania 🇦🇱. Albania is changing new buildings new roads every day is building. Need to work on transport because them building new airports.
Someone tell Simon Albania does not have only pizza and beer. He should visit the countryside for some authentic traditional Albanian cuisine. He will be pleasantly surprised. I think these two lovely anchors will jump on the plane this weekend and visit my country Albania.😂

Enjoy there 😊
