This is by far my favorite game because it covers all skill levels. Green for new board game players/learning. Yellow for casual gamers. Red for heavy gamers. Black for heavy sky team players.
Summary: You do this, you crash and lose the game. You do that, you overshoot and lose the game. If you *don't* do this, you crash and explode and lose the game. Basically, you lose the game. Lol, just joking. Great review looks like a fine tuned balancing act of a puzzle game with interesting interaction thru hidden elements.
I don't usually care for co-op games, mainly because the most experienced or smartest person just quarterbacks the whole game. But this one having only a discussion period at the beginning of the round and then during play, quiet only could mitigate that. I might get this one.
i like the concept of 2 players working together without fully knowing what resources they've got, but it feels overly punishing since every tiny fuck-up can make you lose. sure, it's more accurate to being a pilot - but it's not as fun.
So it's a plane-themed game with Yahtzee-like mechanics? Interesting Question: Is it 100% 2 player or can you play by yourself? (I assume you could by yourself but it would probably be too easy since you can decide what goes where on both sides to be super safe)
It's only designed for two player, however some people are coming up with solo variants on Boardgamegeek. The lack of knowing what your partner will do with their dice adds to the tension of the gameplay, so playing solo is not ideal
I think it would be more fun to allow discussing specific dice rolls. And more specifically, to allow discussing communication placement. Then you could use actions to communicate, at the cost of playing one dice. Like placing a dice on the left coffee space may mean that you don't have any high rolls. This would make it similar to Bridge, and in my opinion much more fun. Also, I think player would be able to pick up on patterns without explicitely communicating them anyway.
i think in order to explain how to play the game you first need to explain the goal so that ppl kee trying to connect your story from early part of the game to finish. instead what you were doing is explain from begining to the end without explaining the goal and thata where ppl keep scratching their head.
Just played this on BGA with my wife. She is a pilot and she loved it, even though she kept complaining how inaccurate it was LOL

My friend and I demoed this at GenCon. We wanted to buy it, but it was sold out. Still haven't gotten around to buying it, lol!

Flaps have to be turned on in order, too. Landing gear does not have to be done in order.

I like co-op games, but this one seems a bit much for me. Maybe with the right person I'd manage, but as it is, it's not really grabbing my interest.
