to be fair to wotlk, arthas was testing the champions so that only the best of the best will face him icc so that he can kill them and rise them as his powerful servents. his plan did work untill tirion Deus Ex Machinaed the fuck out of him
Exactly, his plan was pretty genius if you think about it. Everything went according to his plan until Tirion pulled out that Deus ex Machina. I honestly expected Jaina and Sylvanas to show up instead. Oh well, pretty much my only real dissappointment of wotlk, so I could live with it.
another theory is that the good part of arthas that supposedly lingered in the lichking (evident by him keeping jainas pocket watch) managed to keep him from killing them knowing that they could mabye defeat him at ICC.
Two things.
1. His good part is under ICC traped. Only Ner'zhul remained in Arthi up until Tirion broke Frostmourne.
2. He did do everything acording to plan except the wrath gate and when Tirion attacked him under cover making him three times weaker.
Have you read the books? The point when Arthas woke up was when Ner'zhul was destroyed. The entire time in his stasis was a mental fight against him, in which Arthas ended up winning at the price of his humanity. Thanks Frostmourne.

I actually think that it was pretty bad ass that of all the enemies we've faced, the Lich King was the only one that actually defeated us. We just got kinda lucky that Tirion shattered Frostmourne.

As a person that never plays World of Warcraft, I am disappointed on the ending of Arthas. Made him like the strongest King and have the invincible army in Warcraft 3, but apparently he just lost to a bunch of noobs

I did rewatch it. Basically he luv'd her Arthi luv'd her. Arthi goes to north KT fights him 1 v 1 with legion fire mage artifact and yep he lost just as he did in contest of vajaina.

What happened was that Kael'thas was in love with Jaina too. He didn't really stalk them but he saw them here and there and got really bitter. One night, Jaina and Arthas kinda smooch secretly and Kael'thas busts them and he is like "I WONT TELL ANYONE BUT A REAL MAN WOULD BE PROUD AND NOT HIDE HIS GIRLFRIEND, SHE DESERVES BETTER" and then he leaves and I think the next time they talk is when Arthas murdered his dad and his entire people and Kael'thas is just "this bitchs boyfriend murdered everything i held dear"
Kael, at one point, does find Jaina to be appealing, but never really goes further than that. So technically, Kael only stalks Jaina, not both.
I couldn't stop watching after he said: _He even got a horse named invincible, three guesses on what happened to the horse_. I fucking lost it.
