When a friend of mine told me, that he has a date with a girl he met at WoW I thought someone is trolling him hard. The day after I asked him about his "date". He said it was good. I thought he is to ashamed to say that he was trolled. One week later he presented me his new gf. It was the fucking girl from WoW. Now they live together and are expecting a child. And they still are playing together WoW...

Me and my friends have an RP guild on Argent Dawn called "Four Delinquents", consisting of four broke Outland veterans that found passion in acting. So now we set up improvised street theatre in Stormwind (and sometimes Uldum). Come watch our plays.

People in my guild seem to like it so i stuck with it :) Some guy actually picked on me because i talk in character all the time - "You are not a true RPer if you don't talk OOC at all and you don't do specific emotes..." to wich i replied "I iz da crazy witchdocta mon, i do what da spirits in ma hed tell meh an i don give a kodo poop about de rules. I iz what i iz." He gave up a short while after that :)

One time I was in Goldshire as a gnome Deathknight (yes I played a gnome sue me) and my name was “Picklestick”. As I was dancing around in my sombrero, a female Draenei came up to me and asked if I wanted to “touch her pickle”. I feared for my virtual life so I grabbed my hearthstone to get out of there. I like to think that In gaming I fear no man or woman, but that thing...... it scared me.
I've been to goldshire and rped and it wasn't that bad. I was a level 1 priest standing on the street preaching to all the deviants. I got messages after leaving of people asking me to come back. They thought it was funny too.
Nixxiom... in my early days of RP, I asked an elder druid for help, he said that exact thing "just listen to your heart." but then, afterwards I went to Moon Guard's local drunkard, and he gave me better advice than the elder druid. Also, you read me like a book, I am a depressing tier 2 pally.
Warcraft 3 roleplayers: The guy that quits right when the game starts. The guy that quits after some time. The guy that dcs. The guy who builds random shit. The guy who overpowers his hero. The guy who builds something for the whole game and when he is finally finished everyone has left by that time. The guy who builds stuff and never actually rps. The guy who wants to follow the lore really badly. The guy who battle spanws so many units that there is no way to beat him. The guy who starts a war without a warning/reason. The guy that actually takes rping seriously.

I'm the asshole tier 4 paladin that constantly changes his transmogs, and keeps makin' screenshots of his BG and Arena matches where he never died, basically giving him a K/D of, idk.. 2000/50. so.. 40:1. Now which one's worse :o

Sadly, if you take an unfortunate and shameless stroll down into Goldshire, you'll see a myriad of profiles with "Yes, I'm a girl IRL" in their OOC info. I've seen way too many of these kinds of profiles when I had to go into goldshire for leveling. Luckily, with allied races I no longer have to go anywhere near the place. :D
I RPed as a lesbian couple and confirming the other person was an actual girl through voice chat until I discovered it was an older overweight lady when I got a friend request on facebook and I was a little more than disturbed
I will never have another IC relationship because of that and the rest of the players are most likely guys and that is just awkward as hell so yeah ima just stick to serious role play
I avoid IC relationships too, but plenty of people don't find it awkward at all. I have two straight male friends roleplaying a lesbian couple and they're both fully aware the other is male. Granted, I don't think they get into ERP or anything.
One time while RPing, I ended up with one of the "wise druid" types. When my group asked him what to do about garrosh's tyranny, he did a really long monologue, and I was just waiting for some bs answer. Then, he stopped, and he said very specifically, "I don't #$@%$&@ know. (because of filter) Then literally sad down and logged off. Basically, my friend and I were on a skype call and both started cracking up.
Is the "Drunk but wise old Pandaren Monk" a bad one? Funny story, two guys broke the "don't approach the corner guy" rule and tried to make fun of me by asking me dumb questions I was AFK (guys gotta eat) but by the time I got back they just kept trying to get a rise out of me. Finally one guy asked "You alive in there?" I responded with "...zzZZzz..." I got cursed out and they both left me alone. another guy walked up and told me thought it was funny to see two idiots taunting a sleeping bear. I responded with "Bah, if they wanted to insult me they should have brought me bad Sake." He laughed and we parted ways, I then went out and farmed.
The best part about this video is the people in the comments who can't detect sarcasm even though it's absolutely seeping from the pores. Good job Nixx.
lol, as terrifying as it might be, Draenei do indeed tend to be more often futa than Night Elves. Stay away, people, stay far... far away... if you value your sanity! (And don't EVER read character descriptions you don't trust!)
There's also the "Overlzealous Friend/Stalker RPer". You might first come across this fellow if you're hanging out in a tavern or some such, espectially if you play a female character. At first, they might seem decent at what they do, and you're willing to roleplay with them again. But then, after the second or third time, you find that they're suddenly trying to get up in every aspect of your business, at least every other day. They'll hit you up for RP within moments of you logging in, they'll follow you around in the major cities, and they'll go out of their way to look for you in open areas where you might just be looking for some private time. These people also tend to have less of a grasp on separating IC and OOC, and they'll mix in-game drama with actual drama, or try to get your RL personal info after *they think* your character and theirs have gotten close enough. Personally, this is the only RPer that I go out of my way to try and avoid, and clearly I'm doing a bad job of it, because I have one as I'm typing out this message. Also, I used to be one of these RPers, and looking back, I really am disgusted with myself. But I'm glad to say I've gotten much better. So let me say from firsthand experience from both sides of the spectrum: if you come across one of these people, be honest with them. Tell them to chill the fuck out, and that you have other things you want to do aside from lay your focus on them. They'll either lay off a bit and give you some space, or you'll never hear from them again, and frankly, either one of those is a win for you.

Let's be honest. Roleplayers are by far some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Sure there are some assholes amongst them but the vast, vast majority is accepting, tolerant people who are respectful and helpful.
You, My friend have not played ARMA 3 RP, basically if you wan't to sell your products you will need a pistol and NVG's and if you're planning to do a big run you will need a convoy with atleast 2 cars since there is probably a gang armed with MG's that will take all your stuff, steal your vehicles and leave you to die. Not saying all players are like this but if you wan't to sell whatever you're product is, you need to do it quickly because, either Gangs/The Mafia, Rebels or Police if what you're selling is illegal they will steal it or worse. It depends.

I regret everyday that I made my only rp character a worgen. He is JUST a fisherman. He doesn't want to get into some weird BDSM stuff! He wants to fish. Just to simply fish.
tbh that's a really easy rp, just need some random backstory and boom there you go, as a mercenary you are able to not attached to anyone but money, doesn't really need efforts to rp at all.
I've been roleplaying for years and recognize every one of these types of roleplayers, they are all annoying, especially the guys who sit in the corner cuz they think they are so awesome kind they really suck in D&D games, the new guys you don't mind so much, because they are new, you can help them learn, but damn you really get sick of the edgelords and control freaks.
I really really enjoyed this video. I have toyed with the idea of giving RPing a try, but have no idea where or how to begin. Do I join a RP server to get the full gamit of characters and stories? Or do I just start on the server I am on? [forget that idea ... we only have 4 people]. Would someone help me out with advice for a beginner? My character would be a female NE druid. I have even created a little bit of her life story. Thanks to anyone who can get me started.
I'll give you a quick guide on roleplaying: Step 1: Go on an RP server (high/medium populated to get the maximum amount of RP) You *can* go on an RPPVP server as well but for a new roleplayer I think it's best to stick with strictly RP servers Step 2: Make sure you're not any of the people on the list in the video. Please. We have way more than enough. Step 3: Choose what RP class you wanna play. Since you're a druid the most obvious class would be... druid. Not a big surprise. But you could go with some druid-like class like a shapeshifter or something. But for a new roleplayer, you should probably stick to the playable classes for now. Step 4: Get an RP addon (MRP, TRP, XRP etc.) I mean, it's not required, but it would help out a lot and people are more likely to approach you if you have an RP addon as you look a bit more "professional". Oh, and because you're new to roleplaying, whatever RP addon you get, make sure to fill in that you are a "Beginner roleplayer". Far too many times do I see someone filling in "Experienced roleplayer" and then their story makes no sense, they have awful grammar and are just bad at roleplaying. So make sure you fill in that you are a beginner roleplayer for now, and when you get better you can go up to "Casual roleplayer" then "Normal roleplayer" and so on. Fill in as many things as you can in the addon. Step 5: Get a decent backstory (you can write it in your RP addon of choice) but don't go too edgy. Just keep it simple for now and expand it over time. Step 6: Think in your character's shoes. Why are they here? What is their cause? What is their passion? When you have figured that out mold your roleplaying style after that. By that I mean, if you're a druid who's very caring for the nature and you spend all your time in the nature, then your roleplaying style could be that you want to stop the orcs cutting down all the trees in Ashenvale, or maybe you want to help out in Felwood. Whatever your character is passionate about, mold your roleplaying style after that. Step 7: Choose where you want to roleplay. Cathedral Quarter for Alliance roleplay is pretty populated on most RP servers and you can find new people there but there are a lot of places in the capitals as well as in towns like Darkshire and Booty Bay with some nice roleplay. Just... uh... avoid Goldshire. Step 8: This is very optional, but finding a roleplaying guild can be really fun. There are quite a lot of druid-ish guilds that you could join. I remember when I was in a troll only tribal guild where we went out on adventures together and had big celebrations in troll cities, or when I was in a horde vanguard guild riding around and securing strongholds for the Horde. Some of my best moments as a roleplayer was when I was in a guild so you might wanna check that out if you want to. I just realized this *a lot* of text but I hope it will help you becoming a roleplayer. :)

Also, Zethrael, don't get in the impression that RPers as a bad as I make them out to be in my videos. I tease RPers because I myself was a RPer for years, so I like to laugh at myself every so often. It helps keep me humble. This makes me sad. Especially about demon hunter one cause I play one and I really want to rp one so I do my best to avoid cliche pitfalls of demon hunter trope yet me and my character gets judged instantly before I even type a single word.
Acorneyelid Eh, don't worry about it. Make up the story for your character the way YOU want it to be. If people complain about it, it's their own opinion. If you want your Demon Hunter to have a sad/painful past, then I don't see a problem. As long as they don't constantly cry or brags about their tragic life, there's no problem with it. I'm interested in your character, so just be creative :P
That kind of the point of demon hunters though. They have lost everything in life and that has made them desperate enough to travel all the way to Outland to be trained by Illidan for revenge on the Legion.

My first time roleplaying was not intentional lol. I was just derping around in the park of SW when a druid in cat form came up to me. I tried talking to him, but he just said "rawr rawr" lol. Then shortly after a hunter came who apparently was looking for his pet (the druid). Then for some reason I went to the tavern with him and we just sat around at a table talking with a bunch of other people too. It was nice.
I didn't know wincing was a medical condition. Funny how important stuff like that gets made up just to win an argument. You could've taken it like a champ, but nope.
Pick a server other than Moonguard, and don't hang out in Goldshire. If someone wants to flirt with you after you've asked them not to, you can always put them on your ignore list and I doubt all role players do erotic role play. I think that's mostly a Goldshire thing.
Honestly, I have been roleplaying for 3 years now on Argent Dawn EU. You do not need to ERP/cyber. There are so many ways of avoiding it. And no one will force you. Try it out, haha.

Nah. I actually have anhidrosis. I overheat instead of sweat and it's _fucking_ terrible. Being unable to sweat sounds like heaven on earth, but believe me, it's not. You overheat badly and it's difficult to cool down and in like the slightest heat you end up overheating. Also, it's a fairly high risk to get heat stroke/sunstroke.

Honestly...who fucking cares who you are in real life? I never even bother asking anyone and get slightly annoyed when people ask me what I am irl. Even if I'm a guy character I'll just keep role playing as my character and not even acknowledge the question. And if they push me I'll ask them why it's so important to know what gender I am.

To be honest I feel like military roleplayers and their cousins are a special kind of God-modding. They're literally trying to be something the mechanics of the game don't allow them to become. They literally try and make themselves out to be more than they really are. Rather than take part in the real storylines of the game they invent their own and act like you should somehow recognize them for a campaign to Grizzly Hills to fight some non-existent threat in the middle of MoP. I've only seen a handful of these that weren't utter cancer or weren't filled with awful, power-hungry, spiteful people - and all of them eventually ate themselves alive because the wrong kind of people got control. I like to imagine on my characters that they're just a bunch of LARPers. Some military adventurist's highly expensive country club. Now the ones who actually do shit that's relevant I tend to treat more seriously, but honestly I just don't acknowledge that most of these guys actually are members of the Alliance or Horde military. Same goes for like the Archdruids and Wizards and the like. I think some people really do pull them off. But by and large these people just lack the ability to pull off these characters - it's why I nowadays don't try and play a character too far removed from my own age. Because I've seen too many 50 year-old paladins acting like college frat boys. The "Dirty Peasant" I think is just a contrarian reaction to people playing as heroes. RP Hipsters.
Why wouldn't a small military group be sent out to deal with some hypothetical threat in Grizzly Hills? I'm asking because I'm perfectly fine with the premise these military roleplayers/guilds act under. Leaving all of the other shit aside, obviously.
@@Leander_ Personally I'm mostly okay with the concept, as long as they can pull it off in a non-cringey way, or bring it up like it's some sort of an achievement when you're talking to them. They're a military group, of course they'd be sent off to quell certain threats that the average joe wouldn't know about. There's a ton of things happening behind the scenes of the lore as well that Blizzard doesn't directly mention. The annoying part is when they just don't know how to act like an actual soldier, or actually be respectful, which some of these kinds of rpers lack.
Well no one gives a shit about if you're a guy or a girl in a videogame except dogs and subhuman filth, i see everyone as a player when i'm in game, no more no less. It's for the better to not mention it and just be a normal human being playing a videogame.

Honorable Mention should go to the RPer I call "The Death Knight with a Heart" This person plays a DK and RPs as if the DK was still alive. He (it's almost always a male), still has feelings (most of them positive) is happy and friendly, and is able to fall in love, get married and have a functional sex life.
As a death knight main on Argent Dawn, I have some critical notices for you. I'm not trying to devestate your ego or ruin your Rp, I just want to help you because I got my DK rp wrong MANY times, before I got it right. Here goes: 1. You are undead, and your undeath is irreversible. 2. You were a mass murderer who fought for the Scourge. 3. You cannot age physically over the age you were when you died. You are eternal. 4. You cannot get hungry, thirsty, tired,sick or drunk. You also don't need to use the toilet to relieve yourself. These are mortal qualities. 5. Prior to above, you CAN eat drink and sleep for pleasure, but don't need to. 6. Your body organs are ALL dead and therefore you are rendered numb and pain resistant. Cuts, deep thrashes, blows to the head, a stab to you heart WILL NOT kill you. You may be incapacitated, but you are a higher form of undead, and will return to consciousness shortly after. 7. Necromancy is what keeps you alive, not bodily organ functions. You are currently running on magic, not blood flows and heart beats. 8. You are a constantly rotting corpse. Your body is dead, and will break down if not taken care of. You can counter this by good hygiene, long baths, and brushing your teeth. Good Hygiene can slow down the rotting process and sometimes even halt it completely. 9. You ARE a knight of the Ebon Blade. You may not respect them as much as other death knights, but you HAVE to be one of them. If not, then you are automatically an enemy of the Horde and Alliance, and the Knights of the Ebon Blade. 10. Your soul is trapped in your RuneBlade, with no means of escaping. Your RuneBlade is your top priority. 11. You CAN wield other weapons besides your RuneBlade. 12. You gain nourishment from fear, sadness and bloodlust. If you are a 3rd generation Death knight, you HAVE to harvest the vital energies of living beings to sate your hunger. It is a curse you have to endure with your current state, which if not sated, will cause you to descent into insanity, paranoia, dementia, and cannibalism. Take comfort in the fact that you don't have to keep killing things on a 24/7 basis, and the things that you kill don't have to be human. You can ignore this hunger, but not for extremely long periods of time, and not forever. 13. The armor you wear is most likely made of Saronite. Saronite is the crystalized blood of Yogg-Saron. The material itself is well known for its infamous ability to make people insane. Death knights, are not affected by this effect, but other mortals who come in contact with Saronite will slowly descent into insanity, as a result of the whispers of Yogg-Saron communicating through the material. However, Yogg-Saron was incapacitated in Ulduar, and his whispers are now weaker than before, and sometimes unnoticeable. You can conter this completely by wearing non Saronite gear and clothes. 14. Saronite cannot be molded and forged by normal means. It needs to be mixed with Scourge acids (The green undead liquids) before that. Saronite gear is UNBREAKABLE by any means physical or magical, and weights 1/4 of steel. 15. You can fall in love with another person, but you'll have to be very careful around them, not that they get hurt by your auras and conditions. You also need to suffer from keeping the relationship between the two of you platonic. 16. Being a corpse brought back to life by Necromancy, you cannot procreate, or reproduce. Your body is dead, and will deny you the ability to have a successful sexual intercourse. Death Knights cannot produce offspring with mortals. 17. These are aspects that you need to worry about, otherwise you will die: -Fire and heat. -Dismemberment. -Prolonged Soul Hunger. -Losing the magic essence which keeps you alive. -Losing your RuneBlade. -Rotting to death. -Poisons which damage your body. (Corrosive,Dermal,Super Toxic Oral poisoning) -And most importantly: You COWER in front of the Holy Light. It will rip you inside out and burn your body and soul severely. DON'T get attacked by a paladin ! Even a healing spell will hurt you. Hope this helps. If you have any questions about the following notices, feel free to ask and remark. ☺ Death Knights rule !

I've seen way too many of these kinds of profiles when I had to go into goldshire for leveling. Luckily, with allied races I no longer have to go anywhere near the place. :D

One time while RPing, I ended up with one of the "wise druid" types. When my group asked him what to do about garrosh's tyranny, he did a really long monologue, and I was just waiting for some bs answer. Then, he stopped, and he said very specifically, "I don't #$@%$&@ know. (because of filter) Then literally sad down and logged off. Basically, my friend and I were on a skype call and both started cracking up.

There's also the "Overlzealous Friend/Stalker RPer". You might first come across this fellow if you're hanging out in a tavern or some such, espectially if you play a female character. At first, they might seem decent at what they do, and you're willing to roleplay with them again. But then, after the second or third time, you find that they're suddenly trying to get up in every aspect of your business, at least every other day. They'll hit you up for RP within moments of you logging in, they'll follow you around in the major cities, and they'll go out of their way to look for you in open areas where you might just be looking for some private time. These people also tend to have less of a grasp on separating IC and OOC, and they'll mix in-game drama with actual drama, or try to get your RL personal info after *they think* your character and theirs have gotten close enough.
Personally, this is the only RPer that I go out of my way to try and avoid, and clearly I'm doing a bad job of it, because I have one as I'm typing out this message. Also, I used to be one of these RPers, and looking back, I really am disgusted with myself. But I'm glad to say I've gotten much better. So let me say from firsthand experience from both sides of the spectrum: if you come across one of these people, be honest with them. Tell them to chill the fuck out, and that you have other things you want to do aside from lay your focus on them. They'll either lay off a bit and give you some space, or you'll never hear from them again, and frankly, either one of those is a win for you.

Let's be honest. Roleplayers are by far some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Sure there are some assholes amongst them but the vast, vast majority is accepting, tolerant people who are respectful and helpful.

You, My friend have not played ARMA 3 RP, basically if you wan't to sell your products you will need a pistol and NVG's and if you're planning to do a big run you will need a convoy with atleast 2 cars since there is probably a gang armed with MG's that will take all your stuff, steal your vehicles and leave you to die. Not saying all players are like this but if you wan't to sell whatever you're product is, you need to do it quickly because, either Gangs/The Mafia, Rebels or Police if what you're selling is illegal they will steal it or worse. It depends.

I really really enjoyed this video. I have toyed with the idea of giving RPing a try, but have no idea where or how to begin. Do I join a RP server to get the full gamit of characters and stories? Or do I just start on the server I am on? [forget that idea ... we only have 4 people]. Would someone help me out with advice for a beginner? My character would be a female NE druid. I have even created a little bit of her life story. Thanks to anyone who can get me started.
I'll give you a quick guide on roleplaying:
Step 1: Go on an RP server (high/medium populated to get the maximum amount of RP) You *can* go on an RPPVP server as well but for a new roleplayer I think it's best to stick with strictly RP servers
Step 2: Make sure you're not any of the people on the list in the video. Please. We have way more than enough.
Step 3: Choose what RP class you wanna play. Since you're a druid the most obvious class would be... druid. Not a big surprise. But you could go with some druid-like class like a shapeshifter or something. But for a new roleplayer, you should probably stick to the playable classes for now.
Step 4: Get an RP addon (MRP, TRP, XRP etc.) I mean, it's not required, but it would help out a lot and people are more likely to approach you if you have an RP addon as you look a bit more "professional". Oh, and because you're new to roleplaying, whatever RP addon you get, make sure to fill in that you are a "Beginner roleplayer". Far too many times do I see someone filling in "Experienced roleplayer" and then their story makes no sense, they have awful grammar and are just bad at roleplaying. So make sure you fill in that you are a beginner roleplayer for now, and when you get better you can go up to "Casual roleplayer" then "Normal roleplayer" and so on. Fill in as many things as you can in the addon.
Step 5: Get a decent backstory (you can write it in your RP addon of choice) but don't go too edgy. Just keep it simple for now and expand it over time.
Step 6: Think in your character's shoes. Why are they here? What is their cause? What is their passion? When you have figured that out mold your roleplaying style after that. By that I mean, if you're a druid who's very caring for the nature and you spend all your time in the nature, then your roleplaying style could be that you want to stop the orcs cutting down all the trees in Ashenvale, or maybe you want to help out in Felwood. Whatever your character is passionate about, mold your roleplaying style after that.
Step 7: Choose where you want to roleplay. Cathedral Quarter for Alliance roleplay is pretty populated on most RP servers and you can find new people there but there are a lot of places in the capitals as well as in towns like Darkshire and Booty Bay with some nice roleplay. Just... uh... avoid Goldshire.
Step 8: This is very optional, but finding a roleplaying guild can be really fun. There are quite a lot of druid-ish guilds that you could join. I remember when I was in a troll only tribal guild where we went out on adventures together and had big celebrations in troll cities, or when I was in a horde vanguard guild riding around and securing strongholds for the Horde. Some of my best moments as a roleplayer was when I was in a guild so you might wanna check that out if you want to.
I just realized this *a lot* of text but I hope it will help you becoming a roleplayer. :)

This makes me sad. Especially about demon hunter one cause I play one and I really want to rp one so I do my best to avoid cliche pitfalls of demon hunter trope yet me and my character gets judged instantly before I even type a single word.
Acorneyelid Eh, don't worry about it. Make up the story for your character the way YOU want it to be. If people complain about it, it's their own opinion. If you want your Demon Hunter to have a sad/painful past, then I don't see a problem. As long as they don't constantly cry or brags about their tragic life, there's no problem with it. I'm interested in your character, so just be creative :P
My demon hunter is very self-conscious about her horns and wings so tends to be rather shy.

Pick a server other than Moonguard, and don't hang out in Goldshire. If someone wants to flirt with you after you've asked them not to, you can always put them on your ignore list and I doubt all role players do erotic role play. I think that's mostly a Goldshire thing.

Nah. I actually have anhidrosis. I overheat instead of sweat and it's _fucking_ terrible. Being unable to sweat sounds like heaven on earth, but believe me, it's not. You overheat badly and it's difficult to cool down and in like the slightest heat you end up overheating. Also, it's a fairly high risk to get heat stroke/sunstroke.

Honestly...who fucking cares who you are in real life? I never even bother asking anyone and get slightly annoyed when people ask me what I am irl. Even if I'm a guy character I'll just keep role playing as my character and not even acknowledge the question. And if they push me I'll ask them why it's so important to know what gender I am.

I remember the first time I met a role-player, I was in dungeon finder and we got this mage who was 'really shy'. The guy had voice macros going in combat and everything, it was fantastic.

To be honest I feel like military roleplayers and their cousins are a special kind of God-modding. They're literally trying to be something the mechanics of the game don't allow them to become. They literally try and make themselves out to be more than they really are. Rather than take part in the real storylines of the game they invent their own and act like you should somehow recognize them for a campaign to Grizzly Hills to fight some non-existent threat in the middle of MoP. I've only seen a handful of these that weren't utter cancer or weren't filled with awful, power-hungry, spiteful people - and all of them eventually ate themselves alive because the wrong kind of people got control.
I like to imagine on my characters that they're just a bunch of LARPers. Some military adventurist's highly expensive country club. Now the ones who actually do shit that's relevant I tend to treat more seriously, but honestly I just don't acknowledge that most of these guys actually are members of the Alliance or Horde military.
Same goes for like the Archdruids and Wizards and the like. I think some people really do pull them off. But by and large these people just lack the ability to pull off these characters - it's why I nowadays don't try and play a character too far removed from my own age. Because I've seen too many 50 year-old paladins acting like college frat boys.
The "Dirty Peasant" I think is just a contrarian reaction to people playing as heroes. RP Hipsters.
Why wouldn't a small military group be sent out to deal with some hypothetical threat in Grizzly Hills? I'm asking because I'm perfectly fine with the premise these military roleplayers/guilds act under. Leaving all of the other shit aside, obviously.
@@Leander_ Personally I'm mostly okay with the concept, as long as they can pull it off in a non-cringey way, or bring it up like it's some sort of an achievement when you're talking to them. They're a military group, of course they'd be sent off to quell certain threats that the average joe wouldn't know about. There's a ton of things happening behind the scenes of the lore as well that Blizzard doesn't directly mention. The annoying part is when they just don't know how to act like an actual soldier, or actually be respectful, which some of these kinds of rpers lack.

Honorable Mention should go to the RPer I call "The Death Knight with a Heart" This person plays a DK and RPs as if the DK was still alive. He (it's almost always a male), still has feelings (most of them positive) is happy and friendly, and is able to fall in love, get married and have a functional sex life.

As a death knight main on Argent Dawn, I have some critical notices for you. I'm not trying to devestate your ego or ruin your Rp, I just want to help you because I got my DK rp wrong MANY times, before I got it right. Here goes:
1. You are undead, and your undeath is irreversible.
2. You were a mass murderer who fought for the Scourge.
3. You cannot age physically over the age you were when you died. You are eternal.
4. You cannot get hungry, thirsty, tired,sick or drunk. You also don't need to use the toilet to relieve yourself. These are mortal qualities.
5. Prior to above, you CAN eat drink and sleep for pleasure, but don't need to.
6. Your body organs are ALL dead and therefore you are rendered numb and pain resistant. Cuts, deep thrashes, blows to the head, a stab to you heart WILL NOT kill you. You may be incapacitated, but you are a higher form of undead, and will return to consciousness shortly after.
7. Necromancy is what keeps you alive, not bodily organ functions. You are currently running on magic, not blood flows and heart beats.
8. You are a constantly rotting corpse. Your body is dead, and will break down if not taken care of. You can counter this by good hygiene, long baths, and brushing your teeth. Good Hygiene can slow down the rotting process and sometimes even halt it completely.
9. You ARE a knight of the Ebon Blade. You may not respect them as much as other death knights, but you HAVE to be one of them. If not, then you are automatically an enemy of the Horde and Alliance, and the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
10. Your soul is trapped in your RuneBlade, with no means of escaping. Your RuneBlade is your top priority.
11. You CAN wield other weapons besides your RuneBlade.
12. You gain nourishment from fear, sadness and bloodlust. If you are a 3rd generation Death knight, you HAVE to harvest the vital energies of living beings to sate your hunger. It is a curse you have to endure with your current state, which if not sated, will cause you to descent into insanity, paranoia, dementia, and cannibalism. Take comfort in the fact that you don't have to keep killing things on a 24/7 basis, and the things that you kill don't have to be human. You can ignore this hunger, but not for extremely long periods of time, and not forever.
13. The armor you wear is most likely made of Saronite. Saronite is the crystalized blood of Yogg-Saron. The material itself is well known for its infamous ability to make people insane. Death knights, are not affected by this effect, but other mortals who come in contact with Saronite will slowly descent into insanity, as a result of the whispers of Yogg-Saron communicating through the material. However, Yogg-Saron was incapacitated in Ulduar, and his whispers are now weaker than before, and sometimes unnoticeable. You can conter this completely by wearing non Saronite gear and clothes.
14. Saronite cannot be molded and forged by normal means. It needs to be mixed with Scourge acids (The green undead liquids) before that. Saronite gear is UNBREAKABLE by any means physical or magical, and weights 1/4 of steel.
15. You can fall in love with another person, but you'll have to be very careful around them, not that they get hurt by your auras and conditions. You also need to suffer from keeping the relationship between the two of you platonic.
16. Being a corpse brought back to life by Necromancy, you cannot procreate, or reproduce. Your body is dead, and will deny you the ability to have a successful sexual intercourse. Death Knights cannot produce offspring with mortals.
17. These are aspects that you need to worry about, otherwise you will die:
-Fire and heat.
-Dismemberment.
-Prolonged Soul Hunger.
-Losing the magic essence which keeps you alive.
-Losing your RuneBlade.
-Rotting to death.
-Poisons which damage your body. (Corrosive,Dermal,Super Toxic Oral poisoning)
-And most importantly: You COWER in front of the Holy Light. It will rip you inside out and burn your body and soul severely. DON'T get attacked by a paladin ! Even a healing spell will hurt you.
