Thank you all for the feedback!! If you'd like to hear what these sound like with the ORIGINAL backing tracks, I conjured one up for y'all. Be sure to let me know which one you prefer! Enjoy
Thanks for the comment Devin! Honestly, it kills me to see so many people not liking the backing tracks! I thought I had these nailed. :) I brought in some friends and they recorded all the DI guitars as close to the original as possible. (Granted, I did bring them in and just throw 50 tracks in their face.) And then, the tone was decided by yours truly using VST's in Cubase. This combined with the time crunch may have lead to some sloppy tracks (and there are some in here I wish I had spent more time on.) My question for you guys that don't like the backing tracks is - why? I was planning a follow up for all of the tracks I missed and don't want to make the same mistake twice. Let me know below what your beef is, be it accuracy, tone, timing, missing lyrics, whatever. I want to improve for you guys. Thank you for your feedback, and I hope you guys come back next week. - Cole
Wow, didn't expect this to blow up. Just to be clear. I LOVE the video and what you are doing with it. Really a great idea, and better playing. I think my biggest beefs are the missed timings and tone. Not all of these are easy to play, that is clear. For me, it was just taking away from your great playing. The tone is also taking away from the sound. You might try actually recording the guitar with an amp then using stomp box sims to try to achieve the tone you are going for. Kinda disappointing that my top comment is something negative. Sorry about that, I am a firm believer in trying to improve everyday. I guess sometimes it isn't always in the nicest way.
It was already at the top! Thought I'd be better off addressing it than trying to hide it, I'll unpin when I feel like I've received enough feedback :)
I hope there's somethings your bad at, like forgetting to brush your teeth or not being able to tie your shoes... so we could feel better about ourselves.
You are such a badass drummer to watch. I love how freely and smooth you flow through your kit from tom to tom and even the closed handed to the open handed playing. Your rudiments are astonishing also. Im an 18 year old drummer that has been playing since I could walk and I see so much of your playing that I wish upon myself to be able to do. Love your videos and I hope do see more. Your content is awesome Cole and your one hell of a drummer. Keep up the awesome work man.
It sounds shit lol 😂 Get a CS Dot head, crank it to a medium-high, and overtighten the snares so it muffles the reso head. Get some moongel until you have no ring.
He might not have played some of the solos everyone was hoping to hear in some of the songs, but with the kit he played on I was entertained. Bravo good sir.

Cole Dockter i like when it’s the original in the background
Cole Dockter have you ever heard of Matan Shmoeli.
Is a great drummer, he play in a band called Orphaned Land
You should chack 'em out:)
War pigs get me so hard

Rust in peace whole album

Cole Dockter that's a great way to look at it. Cool to know that you are opened to improving
That's not the legendary part of Tom Sawyer...it's the actual drum solo part.
Facts
At least it's included
He didn't even play it right
I would say every part of Tom Sawyer is legendary but of course the drum solo stands out the most.
Also kinda dummed that intro down a bit....
Dude going from Bleed to Take Five to Money and then to Pour Some Sugar on Me took me by surprise. Your musical taste is as amazing as your drumming
I hope there's somethings your bad at, like forgetting to brush your teeth or not being able to tie your shoes... so we could feel better about ourselves.
I LOVE that you included a Muse song. Dom is a great drummer
But muse ain’t a good band
USDD Gaming just because you don’t like them, it doesn’t mean they’re not a good band lol
Muse!
@@DemonGamingLLC
Muse fucking rock... The fact that you can't see it doesn't mean they don't.
Could have been a better song though
Honestly all of them could have been Zeppelin
ashley 1010 or none of them
@@ToyotaChariots None of them is a reach. Bonzo was a spectacular drummer and that single foot triplet is a killer for most drummers too.
Okay boomer
You still need some Rush and Nirvana.
Zeppelins fills were good, but you also want to have a good selection from other bands
you used your whole kit exept that one lonesome symbal under the ride, and it kind of frustrates me
The poor stack :(. It'll get some love if there's a metal version :)
yaaay
Cole Dockter please do that, but just blast beat every single one

Stargazer by Rainbow
This was so solid, had a good time watching you play. Like the backing track aswell, it didn't distract from the drumming. Well done, man!
Playing was dope! Backing tracks weren't half as bad as the comments made them out to be either. Overall super awesome and very entertaining! 👍
what kinda snare is that man? sounds great
its in the description
It's a Gretsch Silver Series 14 x 6.5" Maple snare. I found it used on eBay and love it :). I'll update my description to better reflect that.
Bryan Ferrante personally I didn't like the snare
Bryan Ferrante its same one Lars used in St.Anger.

I think those might be the best sounding toms and heads I've ever heard. That's what they should sound like. Great drum video...
Am I the only who noticed that feet pattern on "Bleed" isn't a herta and just straight 16th notes?
Um yeah
Yeah he didn't play it right
He could be adding his own fills maybe
Can you actually play it?
@@nightlust oh, well, you're the "you can't criticize the cook if you're not the cook" type

He didn't play bleed the right way though

Michael Carver look closely, compare it to a professional cover
Austin A yeah I get that, I'm just saying
dude, that was awesome man. Great job on pulling those parts out for us to hear.

yes he did
Great job mate. A lot of effort went into that. Thanks. Wonderful playing and the kit sounds fantastic.

I'm pretty sure he did Come Together...

“My hero” foo fighters. Should be on here
Love that you put Molly Hatchet in there, overlooked band
Awesome video, you should try this with underrated songs from bands
Funky Drummer + Take The Money and Run are the best breaks from this 😂😂
Waited to see how the cookie sheet was used, was not disappointed
Daniel Smith reminds me of yyz by rush, when Neil smacked a piece of plywood on a stool!
Rman8018 in YYZ, when you hear that SMACK in the background. It happens a few times I think about the middle of the song.
I love how he does it all so effortlessly and then in the middle of a song throws the stick in the air and doesn't miss a beat , what a beast
Rosetta Stoned maybe?
Too hard lol
Insanely hard...tbh I would even put the ending drum solo of The Grudge here
A guy named John Kew did it, it’s on TH-cam. It’s a really good cover. He is a pretty underrated drummer, and has a lot of Tool covers.
BakenBaconGaming yeah he does them spot on too
