They are right about New York, but they were way off about California. Everyone knows that California always loved Southern rap. And it was DEFINITELY real SMOKE between Cashmoney and No Limit. They just down playing it.
One of the biggest misconceptions about south rap and nyc is that the populace didn’t like that music! Almost all black people in nyc come from or had family FROM THE SOUTH the “industry” heads had a problem with the south not the populace
