- I'm karolinti and this is European Portuguese lesson for beginners. In this episode you will learn when to use prepositions de and em with Portuguese verb IR - to go. You will be also presented transportation vocabulary in Portuguese. This is lesson lesson 57 dedicated to beginners. This lesson will also help you to prepare to CIPLE exam (Certificado Inicial de Português Língua Estrangeira), which is a mandatory for foreign individuals who want to obtain Portuguese citizenship.

👍spot on! Hi, in this case preposition de won't join with an article of the noun!
@@karolinti The useage of the definite article is a little confusing. (of course, even in English, Brits say "go to hospital" and yanks say "go to the hospital". So, with fewer words to tell the taxi driver they get there faster and live longer!🙃) I notice in Portuguese it's used in front of possessive pronouns (e.g., o meu pai). Are there any other major diffrerences we should learn? Thank you.💗
