- Compared to their body size, Black-necked Stilts have the longest legs of any bird! Lab photographer Gerrit Vyn shares a remarkable flock of stilts he filmed in Louisiana at Audubon's Paul J. Rainey Reserve.
They sound so cute and their silly legs are so charming
these guys are adorable
Beautiful! They have amazingly long legs!!
Wonderful! Just what I needed! Beautifully done, very informative, and no stupid music!
I have allways loved watching brids in groups.thos made me very happy thank u.
I am a wood carver and have a project where I have to carve Shore birds of the Florida Nature Coast for a mobile to hang in their sky light. I have seen hundreds of pictures and even the birds here in the Homosassa River but I need the measurements of the average wing span. That way I can get it proportionate to the other birds. By the way I am totally amazed at your film and the proximity to the flock. Very good film!
Honestly ngl I’m here from woody goss’ song black necked stilts. This is pretty dope too
Thanks for all you do for the birds of the world and getting people involved in the survival.
Thanks for this excellent video! I've got some great footage of these guys protecting their nesting grounds in a small flooded farm canal in the Arizona desert. Gotta get it up soon. Your vid inspired me. Thanks again!
Excellent photos, video, and storytelling. Thanks!
Wow, I'm speechless! This is way cool! Thank you for sharing it!

I really enjoyed this video and the information. Thank you.
Just beautiful. I'm hoping to see a few of these beauties on their way through central Illinois this spring. I did not find out until last summer that they do stop by in flooded fields here.
Amazing and uplifting I love you stilts
How beautiful the flock of stilts. The video is not only beautiful to watch but also interesting.
I saw my first black necked stilt in Pascagoula Mississippi yesterday. They flew over and were very beautiful.

I just saw one in Delhi, India. Cute creatures. I think thery enjoy the company of other birds as i saw them Gang up with my local Red waplings. Cute , elegant and adorable.
i also see these birds at the Los Angeles river along with the avocets and killdeer
Marshland of San Pablo Bay (northern most wet section of San Francisco Bay proper) also offers great views of formidable numbers of this species wintering over. Access via Hiway 37 between Vallejo & Novato. Info at San Pablo National Wildlife Refuge. Wintering raptors likewise in abundance (eg. Skagg's Island). Thanks for great video.
You mentioned red eyes? Or did u mean black? Great video!
i have been informed, they are very fast
true
when
now
Their flight is amazingly fast. I was at a marsh and I saw a flock of 50 adult black winged stilts attack crows that invaded the colony, needless to say with all the screaming the crows left immediately.
I visited a marsh today and got fussed at by many stilts. They were nesting on the levy where I was walking. Lovely video.

Cara
