Today we show you how to install a Ford Racing by Borla Sport Axle-Back on a 2015, 2016 or 2017 EcoBoost Mustang. The new EcoBoost Mustang is quite fun to drive, its light its quick, unfortunately its also very quiet. Most Mustang enthusiast want to hear their car rumble down the road. Ford Racing teamed up with Borla to give you a little more of that muscle car sound with their Sport axle-back.
Installation is easy, except you have to cut off the factory muffler. Once removed though, you just bolt in the axle-back and go. The sound was much more aggressive than the factory, you notice it as soon as it starts up that it is aftermarket. The chrome tips help give your rear a much better look as well, they really fill out the cut-outs for the factory exhaust.

Just installed the FR Borla mufflers, I believed they were the ones demoed in this video. Joking, it was like Xmas , "Hey they sound great Bill, just the deep tone I was looking for, thank you!"
I think this is my favorite sound so far but still not 100% convinced on it. I'll have to keep checking before I commit.

this sounds so much better then the other exhausts for the car i just wish it didn't have mufflers so it would be a bit louder as well as deep

Sounds like a Jaguar F-Type Supercharged V6 after the exhaust was install, not bad.

If you're gonna want a good exhaust for your ecoboost mustang just get the Mbrp cat back race exhaust . I have it and I get a lot of compliments from V8 owners
Hello can u still hear the turbo from inside the cabin with this axleback? I don't want to lose that sound. Also is there any droning at highway speeds? Lastly are there any long term concerns with having one through the winter? Thanks!
Wwooooooooohh bill. not cool maybe you forgot the Wrx Sti is a amazing sounding 4cyl turbo or even the Genesis Coupe 2.0t sound.
Why dual exhaust? It just adds weight.

Honestly GT, unless you're cool with people saying all time you don't have a real mustang or should've got a V8 other than that my Eco has ridiculously great MPG
I'm a fan of 4 cylinder engines and I've been waiting for a new exhaust for the eco mustang, this sounds too tiny. I have a magnaflow muffler on my Evo that sounds fuller than that. They should strip half the plumbing off and switch to a single muffler. Why would a 4 cylinder need two mufflers? Is is a v4?
My guess is for looks only
sounds decent, but not loud enough, delete that resonator and it will help a lot

Very loud. Sounds amazing. I put it on my 2020 Eco
I did not find any improvement for what it cost to replace, but that is only my opinion.
Please someone tell us how to get rid of the fake exhaust tone. If you add a sub its really over the top and sounds horrible!

Disconnect rear microphone in headliner.. The rear is held up by magnets pop it down and unplug it.

A 4 cyl with dual exhaust... Why??? More weight and crappier sound. This one sounds like a 50cc scooter with a gutted exhaust.
Don't even put mufflers on it.
I wouldn't trust any exhaust that you have to use clamps on it they leak like crazy and you will hear like a little whistle sound on idle drive me crazy on my old car
The factory exhaust on all previous models used the same style clamps. Installed properly there are no issues with them.
Worst sounding 4cyl turbo I've heard. I've hears so many turbo 4cyl cars with exhaust and they can sound mean. Don't know why the ford 2.3 ecoboost turbo sounds like this. Love the car though.
The secret with something like a WRX which is what I assume you're referencing would be unequal length headers. The STI has UEL headers while the base WRX equal length headers. The base WRX sounds like a Honda while the STI sounds like a baby V8. I'm very curious to see what changing the headers will do for these ecoboosts.

it sounds even worse that way. No matter what I think it will sound like horrible. So far I think the Ford Racing Axel is the best, which in my opinion is the best option for the v6. The coolest thing about the Ecoboost to me is that AmericanMuscle just gained 50 hp with a tune alone.

The EcoBoost Mustang was built for the World Market, Right Hand Drive, $9 a gallon gas, if you're not a Foreigner then don't fucking worry about it.

A waste of time and money! Regardless, a 4 cylinder will sound like a 4 cylinder regardless of what you do to it. Sounds like a 2-4 cylinder import.
