Great question! The front and sides are doing good. The roof has become a little brittle. It held up to 8 inches of snow a couple months ago, but created a sag between the boards. I would probably not buy the cheapest panels for the roof next time. Happy Gardening!
Awesome job. Thank you for sharing. I converted an old shed (vinyl siding) last season and will be doing the roof and ventilation this season. You have given me some great ideas.
Thank you. It is showing the wear though. I will probably have to replace the roof panels at least on the top soon. Heat weakens the cheap panels and a tree branch came down on the roof and popped a hole. Happy Gardening!
Thank you. I am trying to figure how to create and install the vents and fans. I look forward to your next video. Great idea about using the oven racks. I will now be on the lookout for those at my local recycling center! 👍
The most important consideration is peak temperature inside the greenhouse. Most plants don't use much water at 75F, use a lot of water at 85F and go critical above 90F. In other words, your ventilation system needs to be capable of keeping the indoor temp below 85F on your hottest days. One strategy for this would be to open your vents at 75F (most auto openers can be adjusted between 65F and 77F) and start the fans at 80F.
It was some of the last dry pressure treated wood before all the mills closed for C-19 which created the shortage and wet wood supply. I had to use untreated 2x4's with Thompson's water seal for the rafters. Happy Gardening!
That's a lot of money for that little greenhouse. It looks nice and very well built but that is a lot of money for that little greenhouse. I bought one years ago, 4 by 16 and it didn't cost that much. Not as nice as yours but in today's times with gas prices and food prices its going to be hard for people to use that 1000 even if they should raise their own food. Yours is nice
Thank you. I have a couple kit greenhouses and they just don't keep the heat in as well. Since I start my peppers in the end of January, I needed something that would really be insulated and durable. With the large spike of lumber prices, this one would probably cost twice as much now.
I do most of the construction on my mini farm with reclaimed lumber. Whenever there is a home remodel in my neighborhood, I ask the foreman about scrap that is headed for the landfill. So far the answer has always been "take it." The exception is lumber at ground level. For that I buy new pressure treated material.
Great video man. I'm fixing to build a cattle panel hoop house myself but I saw this vid and found it interesting. No BS ear splitting aneurysm inducing music . Just a common man Making a great greenhouse. I almost want to build your design over what I'm planning so I may build it also. The wood was a definite score for sure. Good Luck out there un Western Washington. I miss Washington used to live in Coeur D alene and worked in Spokane. Myself I just moved to the Ozarks. The house I bought here with 80 acres and 3 out buildings would be well over a million in any part of WA . I paid just 400. Plus the political deali gs of WA just make that beautiful state not something I want to deal with with what's happening. Good Luck and God Bless.
I know LOL. I have the only greenhouse made with mahogany. I got the wood because a friend was getting rid of a deck. I believe the wood was originally for a ship's deck because of the dowel holes in the ends. A woodworking buddy came over a few weeks ago because he didn't believe me and I gave him a few of the scrap pieces. He took them home, put them on a plainer and was shocked. Not bad for a "Wood Greenhouse Under $1000." Happy Gardening!
It does make less mowing in that location. Problem is my lawn tractor doesn't go around them as easily therefore, I have to break out the push mower. I should just put pavers all over my yard.
Bro!! WHY IF YOU HAD TO SEAL THE WOOD! WHY ON EARTH DIDNT YOU JUIST ^^^ ^CALK IT AS YOU GO^^^^ It will take so VERY much more TIME and EFFORT to fill, EF THAT those cracks! they're So small! When it would have been so easy to just have the calk as you went! and " Squirt, nail- nail , Squirt"
I should have. I actually went and got some insulation foam sheets and put it on the outside. Hindsight is always 20/20. Well, I'm a better gardener than a carpenter. Happy gardening!
How has the vinyl held up to sun damage?

Glad I could help. In hindsight, I would have angled the wall in this one like I did with my newest greenhouse. Happy Gardening!
I love this design. It's similar to one I built several years ago but much better as far as air flow! Thank you for posting.
Glad you like it! Happy Gardening!
Awesome, got some great tips, thankyou!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved the video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! Happy Gardening!

Thank you for this video.
My pleasure! Happy Gardening!
Wow thank you for video recording this its something I can do without dealing with cutting anything crazy!
It just takes time and the benefit of having an extended growing season has really paid off. Happy Gardening!
Hi , you did a great job 👏
Thank you. Happy Gardening!
Wow! That thing will put you steps ahead!
I hope it will put me STARTS ahead. I might try your peppers in a pop up trick in this greenhouse next year.
Awesome bro. Love it. Thanks for sharing
No problem. Happy gardening!
Looking great!
Thank you. I was out in it today getting it ready for my seedlings. Happy Gardening!

Very nice, and great instructions that i think i may build this spring. Cheers!
Thank you. Good luck and happy gardening.
Nice build. I like that you made a point of caulking. I'm curious if you've made any mods to increase airflow on hot days.
Yes, added fans and a beeswax vent opener. Happy gardening!
Fantastic greenhouse well done you !! Love your Labs so cute
Thank you! 😊
Thank you. I am trying to figure how to create and install the vents and fans. I look forward to your next video. Great idea about using the oven racks. I will now be on the lookout for those at my local recycling center! 👍
Glad I could help. I should be posting the solar fan video soon. Editing it today.

You are so welcome! Happy Gardening!
I want to build a nice green house too.
Not too hard. Just takes time. Happy Gardening!
Nice greenhouse! 😊
Thanks! 😊
What is the heights you made it to? Sorry if you said in the video I must have missed it
8' in the front, 10' in the back. Happy Gardening!
Did you have to let the pressure treated wood dry before framing? Thanks
It was some of the last dry pressure treated wood before all the mills closed for C-19 which created the shortage and wet wood supply. I had to use untreated 2x4's

that is something else
Thanks! After a few years, the roofing material especially on the top could use replacing. Happy Gardening!

Thanks, good luck on your build. Happy Gardening!
I am in Arkansas, bought 10 acres for 10,000, no jobs, and I didn't check the job market before we got here.
How long did it take to build?
About a month. Mostly on weekends. Happy Gardening!
Nice job! Whats the lumber size you used for the bottom frame which is sitting on the bricks?
Thanks, its 10ft and 6ft - 4inx6in pressure treated.
THANK YOU FOR THE EXPILCATION BUT IT WILL BE BETTER IF I HAVE A FRENCH TRADUCION THANK YOU SIRE!
Happy Gardening!
This comment 😂😂😂😂😂
Mahogany hm

🤣🤣I didn't measure right 🤣🤣 I did the same thing.
Thanks, that makes me feel better. Happy Gardening!
I won’t attempt building one as it would end up looking like Red Green built it.
Not too difficult, just time consuming... Happy Gardening!
I think you moved it only to kill grass in another location. Boy you must hate mowing that much 🤣😂😅🤪🤪
It does make less mowing in that location. Problem is my lawn tractor doesn't go around them as easily therefore, I have to break out the push mower. I should just put pavers all over my yard.
Nice job! I made a device to grow more efficiently I have a video on how to build it !
I will check it out. Looks like we were thinking sort of the same thing in our designs.

That looks like shit.
It works. What do you expect for under $1K? Happy Gardening!
ding dang didly didly ding dang dang dang de ding dang.
lol
fun fact.. you dont want to put your greenhouse in full sun. It will get waaaay too hot.
That's why I have vents and solar fans because it got too hot. Happy gardening!
