Backyard farming and gardening. A few years ago, a Master Gardener at the local Farmer's Market had decided to retire. After seeing my first greenhouse, she convinced me to start selling starts at the market. It's been a couple years now and 3 additional greenhouses later. I enjoy the market atmosphere and in the early spring, the vegetable starts really bring people into our market and downtown. Anything I do earn at the market goes right back into my garden. I hope you enjoy the videos. Happy gardening!
Garden Shoes - What type of shoes for the Garden?
Bought some Crocs Clogs about a month ago. I have been wearing them in the garden and thought it would be a good topic to talk about. Check out the footware in the garden. Happy Gardening!

WHEN TO WATER PLANTS - USING A MOISTURE METER TO WATER
มุมมอง 485ปีที่แล้ว
One of the main questions that I get asked at the farmer's market is how often to water my plants. I normally tell people to stick their finger in the soil and if your finger is damp, then you don't need to water. Watering well also makes a difference and can really help out your plants. I have a couple water meters that I will be showing you how to use them and what kind of a difference in wat...

Greenhouse Lights - Installing 12V DC Flood lights

As I get old, my eyes are not what they once were. Even when it is cloudy outside, I have a hard time seeing the little starts. Not to mention seeing the seeds. I decided to install some truck flood lights into my greenhouse and garden and run them off of my solar system. Wow, I impressed myself. 6.5 Inch 120W Spot & Flood Combo Driving 16AWG Wiring Harness for Led Work Light Triple Rows Off-Ro...
Installing The Cheapest Stainless Steel Amazon Sink In A Greenhouse
มุมมอง 15Kปีที่แล้ว
I got tired of using a garden hose while getting my starts ready for market so I purchased the cheapest stainless steel sink available on Amazon. I got an e-mail from the seller saying it was lost but I received it a week before it was supposed to arrive (5 weeks instead of 6). The company's Amazon page for this sink shows out of stock a lot. All I can say is I got more than I expected. Mine is...

Joes Greenhouse December Update - Lots of changes
Sir may I ask where did you get the racks/ shelves . Thank you
The shelves came with the greenhouse. I got it second hand so I don't know what company it is. The racks are commercial oven racks that I got at a local auction for $15 for over 30 of them. Happy Gardening!
Is that indoor?
Yes, it is in one of my small greenhouses. Happy Gardening!
i'm using heat sinks and not sure if it will work as i don't get a lot of sun
Dark painted heat sinks work better in direct sunlight but they will still pick up ambient heat and warm up to close to the daytime temperature of the greenhouse. Happy Gardening!
Currently thinking of cleaning all my stacked pots! ✨
I put too much time into my starts not too.
Nice build. I like that you made a point of caulking. I'm curious if you've made any mods to increase airflow on hot days.
Yes, added fans and a beeswax vent opener. Happy gardening!
Poor chickens!
They loved it!
Glad they enjoyed it. 🐓
Is the plastic from the brute safe to use for the plants?
Yep
Don’t worry folks, chickens don’t have the taste receptors to taste capsaicin. These are treats for the little guys
I was today years old when I held some pods in my teeth while harvesting and learned that the stem has a tiny bit of capsaicin 😂
Hope it wasn't too hot.
@@CMooreStarts just a light tingle. There’s a trace amount at the very most but I was surprised
Thanks but now I have to order one for my Wife 🙂
Just used mine again last week.
What do you reckon the tow weight of this would be?
I didn't weigh it but I can move it by hand even when it is fully loaded with plants. Just can't move it too far.
Did you actually see them eating aphids. And how long did they stay on your property
No I have not seen them eating aphids. I have seen less aphids and the ladybugs are still around.
Skinny ghost
A little bit
Probably use grass clippings and cardboard and place trays on it..
I might try. Tks
You’re a good smoker!
Lol
It's ironic that one of the very best ways to level a pond surround is to use... an old-fashioned water-level. The idea is ancient, the cost is minuscule, the accuracy is astonishing... and it works behind hills, trees, hedges, mounds of soil, and round blind corners, too. And you know with absolute certainty that the water you put in your pond will be precisely as level as the water you put in the tubing. Admittedly, a water-level's not as cool as a laser, but it's telling that on some projects [weird, tricky ones with obstacles], engineers will confirm that their electronic levelling has been done with sufficient accuracy by checking the results with an old-school water level. Sometimes, simplest is best. Just not as much fun...😁
Thanks.
All those lady bugs made my skin crawl! 🐞
Haha
ding dang didly didly ding dang dang dang de ding dang.
lol
I can't stop watching this channel!❤
Yikes!!! I have been hearing so much good things about these hoses, picked up 2 25 foot RV sections for camping this spring and summer. I hope they got it squired away!
The newer ones have the defect fixed. Have fun camping!
? Tomato….
Yes, Roma.
I've got about 400 ft, of the gray version in 50-foot lengths. the oldest is 3yrs. Use them on construction sites, home, farm. I'm sold on them. They transport well , coil well, light weight, etc etc. So far, no failures. The connecting ends have really good grip area that makes putting them together pretty easy. These are the 5/8s version.
Yes, the gray version has the defect fixed. Thanks!
That is thermal mass. Heat sink is a cooling method. It does work a bit though.
Thanks. Happy Gardening!
fun fact.. you dont want to put your greenhouse in full sun. It will get waaaay too hot.
That's why I have vents and solar fans because it got too hot. Happy gardening!
Does the light hold up throughout the night? How is it on cloudy days? 😅
It is 2:30 AM and I just got home from work. I had moved two of the three strings into my greenhouse and they are still on. On cloudy days usually go out around 1AM.
I have used two of the gray ones for five years without any issue. Read the Coupling Care recommendation on the bottom of the box and the Warranty info.
Thank you. Happy Gardening!
How long did it take to build?
About a month. Mostly on weekends. Happy Gardening!
Thinking 2 strands of electric is best bet
I did think about that.
Send link please
After making these and the amount of trimming, there are better ones out there. Happy Gardening!
THANK YOU FOR THE EXPILCATION BUT IT WILL BE BETTER IF I HAVE A FRENCH TRADUCION THANK YOU SIRE!
Happy Gardening!
This comment 😂😂😂😂😂
I have two and both have slowly gotten mold or mildew all over the green outer casing turning them splotchy black aside from that they are great hoses
I love them other than the mildew. Happy Gardening!
REMEMBER, Whenever you are working with airflow- Bigger intake & smaller exhaust. !
Thank you! Happy Gardening!
I NEED to see a video of releasing those GIANT 72,000 Ladybug Bags
That would be cool. Only cost around $200. I wonder if you would get a bulk bug discount?
I have three of these green and one black and all have been abused without failures. That one was just a Friday hose...lol
Lol
I so want to do this but I only have one hibiscus with aphids. ❤❤❤
At was fun. Not only do they eat aphids, they also rate mites and other soft pests. BTW, I am working swing shift now so I won't be doing the market this year. Maybe next year. 😢
looks great
Thank you. It is showing the wear though. I will probably have to replace the roof panels at least on the top soon. Heat weakens the cheap panels and a tree branch came down on the roof and popped a hole. Happy Gardening!
I love mine! I cut up tomatoes in big chunks then heat them and cook for a while. I strain out the juice as they are cooking. I dip and strain juice in a separate pot for tomatoes juice. No waste. Then put the tomatoes through the machine. The sauce is thick because of the pre dipping. Then can.
Great tip!
You made a mess! Get serious!
LOL, just having fun. Happy gardening!
You're a nice man but you wasted your time. It doesn't work, no matter how big the containers are.
It only helps a little in the harbor freight style greenhouses. In my wood greenhouses, it really makes a difference. Happy Gardening!
As long as you get several hours of sun a day. Here, they would freeze most of the time.

Thanks for showing their use at night. A lot of the other review channels just showed the unboxing/install and how the lights looked in the daytime.
Glad it was helpful! Happy Gardening!
Bought one today at Lowe' s for less than $25. My low back needed help. I am 69 yrs old.
I am catching up on you. Back is not too bad but my knees need help. Happy Gardening!
Could you put one of those on the bottom vent as well?
I actually did in my newest greenhouse. Happy Gardening!
Very smart simple idea
Thank you. Happy Gardening!
The way it rotates is genius!
Thanks, just using old furniture wheels.
How about putting water tanks in the bottom for wind loading and water storage, along with a gutter system to fill them with rain?
The frame is fairly heavy and the four carriage bolts hold it down fairly well. I don't think a gutter will work very well with highway speeds. Happy Gardening!
I have wanted to use a stock tank heater in my trash cans to supplement the sun. Do you think it would work?
It might get too hot if the element touches the edge. I tried a very low voltage fish tank heater with solar and I only helped a little. Happy Gardening!
@@CMooreStarts Thanks for your response.
How is it doing for you after almost 4 years?
You Love the comment but can’t answer the question??
Sorry, I must of not hit enter. Other than being very dirty, they are working great. Froze them a couple time and still no holes. I did buy another one for the front of my house.
@@CMooreStarts Magic eraser cleans them right up like new.
@@CMooreStarts thanks!!
that is something else
Thanks! After a few years, the roofing material especially on the top could use replacing. Happy Gardening!
That looks like shit.
It works. What do you expect for under $1K? Happy Gardening!
