- Full playthrough of Castlevania the arcade game for your viewing enjoyment, rendered in 4k, audio and text in English with all sound effects working, no graphics glitches on the last level! This game looks pretty good in 4k, especially the last boss battle! If you enjoy arcade game playthrough videos in 4k, hit the sub button! I left the attract mode in because it's got the story intro in it... so watch the intro short story part before the gameplay.
I managed to fight the werewolf and the mask lady twice in this run through. Not sure if there's any other bosses I missed?
This was a pretty rare arcade game before this release, big thanks to everyone who was involved in preserving this one and tinkering to get it running. Video Game Esoterica, Argon etc. This game is awesome.... you need a fast cpu and gpu to run it well, if you have slower hardware you'll get more lag in the controls and it makes it way harder to play. The more responsive your mouse inputs are, the more accurate you can play.

Judging from the gameplay this could have theoretically worked on the wii or even the ps3 and Xbox 360.
Gotta say though the soundtrack is overall a banger
It would have been prime for the Wii, that console literally had the controller this game uses!
Can we just take a sec to appreciate how... pleasant Dracula is in this game? He's usually so angry and brooding, but in this game, he's just like, "I'm glad you made it this far! Wanna fight, bro?"
Based dracula takes a minute to apologize for his minions
The sorta iffy lipsyncing makes me thing that its a case of a poorly dubbed over English voice instead of the original Japanese dub which very likely was much more dramatic and fitting of Dracula. The craziest thing though is that this is a *2009* game, so a case like that at that point is ridiculosu to think about lol
I dont think there actually IS a Japanese dub for this game, the language settings only seem to change the text. It just is what it is.@@ArcadeStriker
@ArcadeStriker tbh its not even that. It's really the delivery. I'm used to Dracula having an firmer, menacing, delivery. This delivery is just very... chill? It's kinda delivered in a cocky "this fight is beneath me", sort of way. It's kind of an interesting take on the character now that I think about it.

Damn I never thought this would actually be playable. I thought it'd be lost to time like the prototype of Resurrection, but Castlevania fans can find anything it seems lol
Man, Konami as a missed opportunity to put in the west.

I’m still pissed they never ported this on PlayStation Move nor Nintendo Switch. I bought a Wii for Judgment. I would of bought a Move for this.

Excellent Gameplay, I've never seen this Castlevania arcade game before with its unique LED light-whip motion controller!!! I think Konami could have ported this over to the Wii or Wii U consoles?

Was just thinking how this game got the theme and tone of Castlevania so right at a time when all the games being made completely missed that theme and tone for anime drama and fantasy instead.
Then I watched the credits and saw that besides an "and IGA" credit Igarashi had nothing to do with this game. So that tracks...
Yeah, give the bosses attacks that take off 80% of your health per hit, that's super fair. :P

No one knows the identity of the Vampire Hunter, but I've assumed him to be Simon Belmont, because the events of Arcade Akumajou Dracula mirror the events of Simon-featured titles such as Cv1, Haunted Castle and SCv4 from which also many music tracks come from. He looks more like young Julius Belmont, though.
It'd be nice to have this confirmed, if only for the huge nerds like me who care to have details confirmed or expanded on.

I didn't try player 2 sorry, but i've read that it can work. Check out Emuline, there's a thread on there about it, you might be able to get help there.

It hadn't been dumped until very recently, it was known that it existed, there was videos of the machines etc. It's a really cool game.

The game was dumped and you can play it yourself now! So it’s been “preserved”, so to speak.

Given the size of this game, it was probably what...2 dollars to play? So im guessing about 8 to 10 bucks to beat it back in the day.
Probably a Dollar; per Credit... Though based on a previous showcase I saw lots of the Mini-Bosses and Bosses have Highly Technical Windows required for Parries and Counters in order to avoid Damage. Thus leading to many Game Overs.

Well it was translated to English from Japanese.. so maybe it would be better to speak to a rom hacker who might implement that into a hacked rom.??
I just got this fine game on my home Arcade One system recently! It works mostly well, save for the fact that I often have trouble with getting the game's ending to load whenever I play it from start to finish. Either the end credits can't be seen, or it crashes on me. I CAN however get it to properly load if I play the game from the final part where you fight the two end bosses, but have to do so without the powerups which I previously earned beforehand though.
I had this issue, try the 4G mem patch, google 4GB patch, this might help, especially if you are runnig it at a higher resolution that default.
