Can you tell me how much the extension parts weight? My carpenter refuses to built a table that massive with extensions - because it would be too wobbly.
@@Kalle1854 I just checked: The official maximum weight these extensions can hold according to the company that makes them is 80kg, so 21kg should be a piece of cake.
Hi Eeileen. You are not the first one to ask. In fact I am just now helping someone to get them. This gear is sold by a German company called Layer. If you go to this video (th-cam.com/video/wpy5Q51HKE0/w-d-xo.html) and look in the comment section for the conversation with Peter Baker, you will get a good download. If you need my help you can proceed the same way as Peter.
Update (for other readers): People outside of Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Netherlands or Switzerland can buy the swiveling extension arms here: tidd.ly/3QEkux3
@@frankrojo5135 Like a charm. I used the first ones for this table in 2018 (th-cam.com/video/wpy5Q51HKE0/w-d-xo.html) and they are still sturdy and hold the leafs really well and flat.
You mount two wooden bars on the table extension that have a little metal knob mounted on them. The swiveling arms have a hole that firs this knob and holds the leaves firm and tight. You can see some pictures here: creatoriq.cc/43gxzCZ
That Olma is a beast!! One of the best thickness planers put there. How wide is it ? You should do video about your machines, that one would be nice :) Great work!
Another very nice job! very impressive the planer at 4'04, what width? I once found a horseshoe in a walnut tree from a farmyard ... luckily, it was sticking out !! at 8'11, is it Rubio WoodPrep before applying rubio monocoat ? what is "sanding sealer" ? Thank you !
Thank you 😊. 1) It’s a 1m wide planer which is 50+ years old. I love it ❤️ 2) You are kidding me! A horseshoe?!? How did that end up there? Imagine you don’t detect that and send it through your planer 😫😫 3) That is mineral spirit, to clean of the dust. It’s cheaper and better than Rubio cleaner. 4) Sanding sealer is a liquid that closes the wood pores to achieve a smoother finish. You apply it after 180 grit, let it dry for 1 hour and sand it off with 240 grit...
Thanks for posting this. I've been approached to build an extension table and your solution looks to be perfect for my needs!
Most welcome, Brad, I am super pumped if this was helpful for you. Have fun building 👊🏼
Black legs with the black stain. Great job!
Thanks Mark 😁
Beautiful ! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching 🙏😁
You do absolutely beautiful work -- keep it up.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement Howard. Really glad you liked it 😁🎉
Looks great. What was the piece of metal at 5:00?
Thanks Paul. It was a big old nail... 😆
I thought it looked like a lead ‘slug’ and wondered if the tree really had been shot 😂
😂😂

Hey. I didn’t weight them, but I can confirm that up to a length of 50-60cm nothing is wobbly. Those extensions are sturdy
@@Woodensoul do you think it would get wobbly with a 21 kilo extension part?

Could you tell me where you got the swivel extensions? They are just what we are looking for.

@@Woodensoul Thank you so much for your fast reply. Would you recommend these for 24" leafs? TIA. Keep up the good work 👏 👍
What holds the leaves in place so they do not slide side to side?

That Olma is the best 😆 1m wide, a force of nature. Yeah, I should make a video of that one day, I agree 😁
@@Woodensoul 1m ? That is twice of my machine😅😅 please do a video, I would like to see how this beast is made, beautiful machine man!! Thanks 😄
I will try to make one :D
Nice! I also have couple of steel stained oak big slabs. What was final thick your table?
Sweet! The final thickness was 3.5cm...
@@Woodensoul what thick was before milling?
About 5cm
Maximum D = 400 mm. Zum Beispiel Holzuhr.

@@Woodensoul the horseshoe protrudes a little, I dug the wood, and I pulled it out at the crowbar ! SAnding sealer might be "bouche pores" in French !
But how? Why? How did it end up in the tree? That is so funny 😂
You use a lot of domino, is there a special reason for?
Haha, you are right. I might be using too many, sometimes I overdo things 🤪
