- This is a talk by noted authour Ravichandran C at Government Polytechnique, West hill, Calicut, Kerala on 12.8.2017.
The speech was on the recently concluded Nurses' strike in Kerala, in July, 2017. The speaker observes that the inherent gender bias in Kerala is deeply related to the overdose of religiosity. Hailing Nurses as 'angles' is a tricky ploy to deprive them of the basic human rights and wages.
Nurses are not angels, they are human beings with equal status, so they should be treated accordingly. Later, Ravichandran fielded questions from the audience.
The programme was conducted by Freethinkers Network Group, Calicut.

When I hear this speech,I really feel sad Bcz am a NURSE..still I remember when I was working as a emergency nurse in 2010, I received my salary as 4000 rupees only and I do 12 hrs duty...now am in Dubai, situation is same but better than kerala...Now am planing to shift my profession, Bcz really I fed-up with my profession..People say Nurses are like angel but only in books,reality is too different..

Don't quit your profession coz you like what you do! Try to get a job in abroad In Europe great respect for your profession here! Try Canada's skilled worker category migration program. None of these countries are recruiting through an agency ( Never go to an agency these countries visa system is not like GULF countries )>

It was this Angel who informed the arrival of God son, Jesus Christ. what is the present status of nurse's in Kerala. do they get three times salary. if we don't get sufficient salary for our work, we should leave that work and should look for other work.there won't be practicality in this three times increase.
