    My boyfriend is a refugee, and I always try my best to support him emotionally and mentally. It has been a year, and I always hope for the best for him.

    this is heartbreaking. we've got so much more in common than some see. we're all so close to having to leave everything. life is more fragile than we realise.

    This is an emotional and deep video, hard to believe this was created by using the poem, What They Took With Them, which is inspired by the stories and accounts of refugees, it makes you think about all those who are trying to escape, about what they go through.

    It is like opening your own home to a stranger. People do this less often today than they did 50 or more years ago, because of bad experiences. It's not that those strangers are less needy. It's that we are more afraid.
    Is it right, is it wrong?
    We have to think of accepting refugees as if they were knocking on each of our doors, crying. We weigh the risk against their distress or their need and decide. We can accept the risk or we can close the door. None of these choices are easy to make and it's not fair to criticize either when it's made in good conscience. It's also not fair to force your choice, whatever that may be, on your neighbors.

      No one in good councince can say it is a good thing to deny refuge to those who need it , the refugees. I am from Turkey and we have more than 3.500.000 millon people from Syria here and they are my brothers and sister , whom I hope one day will see their homes again where they are safe but even then they are welcome here.

      @@afd1040 You can't just generalize that. Not everyone can accept refugees willingly or unwillingly. Have so nuance in your thinking not everything is so cut and dry

    I don't understand how people can think this video is "propaganda." These are human beings who have been forced out of their homes by violence and war. They need understanding and support, not fear and discrimination.

    • @samd6601
      @samd6601 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because there are highly paid actors on the stage, they could have used non actors... who are they trying so hard to convince .. thats why this video would seem like propaganda. i don't trust actors, they are very good liars...

    • @xCasanora
      @xCasanora 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Politicians are better liars. These people, unlike many popular politicians nowadays, actually have a sense of empathy. A word most likely unknown to the majority of the people in this comment section. They used actors because they would reach a wider audience. Who would have thought they actually wanted attention to be brough to this cause? Incredible, right?

    • @Whatever4690
      @Whatever4690 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the vast majority of migrants aren't these, these are cherry picked.
      Do you think they will follow up with the victims of refugees, i'm sure their stories could be equally as horrible.

      It is propaganda. No one of the promis who make this, take refugees to his home. Cate Blanchett is rich, but she gives no money to refugees, she just uses them to get more attention to her own person.
      She is a very good actress, i love her movies, but i guess, she is not a very gut person.

    Our climate crisis will have most of us migrating. A special thank you to the real 100 corporate polluters that if their business would be regulated could save our planet and millions of future forced migration. Who will help us if we don't help ourselves? It is the Millennials that will really pay the cost.

    Кои са предметите, с които човек побягва от дома си при внезапна опасност? Някои са абсурдни и безполезни (часовник), други имат огромна стойност - емоционална или материална (бижута)… Припомняме си и класическия въпрос „С какво ще избягате от дома при земетресение?”, на който някои хора отговарят с мълчание, други се сещат за ценен предмет, а немалко - за най-близките си. Или за котката. Но всъщност винаги става дума за спасяване на част от душата, на част от паметта… и, не на последно място, за собствения живот.
    Днес 65 милиона души по цял свят са бежанци. Изгубили са домовете и притежанията си, нерядко изгубили семейството и всички шансове за завръщане в родината. И сега хора на изкуството, сред които Кейт Бланшет, Кит Харингтън, Кийра Найтли, Нийл Геймън… им заеха гласовете си, защото често бежанците нямат възможността и да говорят. Артистите прочетоха щафетно стихотворението What They Took With Them (Какво взеха със себе си) от датчанката Дженифър Тосквиг.

      This is just emotional blackmail. All of the dangerous traveling and ruining of European countries could have been avoided by not supporting Islamist uprisings in the middle east. Which of the refugees in this video were responsible for making Sweden the 2nd highest in the world for rape?

    • @TacticalSpray
      @TacticalSpray 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      How about spend way less and set up safe zones in their own countries, or stop taking out elected leaders and creating the turmoil. they are being encouraged to make this dangerous (for everyone) crossing into Europe, the moral high ground is not to facilitate this any longer.
