And I can understand when you stated Gin is being cold cause at first it seems like so but as you'll get on with the furthur serious episodes you'll realise Gin is not cold but rather Gintoki has a very sarcastic and different way of showing his affection, concern & care for others. So yes Gin is a type of character who'd say that he’s too busy reading jump so he will not save his friends...but still he'd definitely go to save them in his own quirky way

Thinking about how Kagura's goal is to be strong enough that she can choose her own battlefields without resorting to her Yato instincts really becomes clear when you put into perspective her past. Experiencing the loneliness of her brother and father leaving her to work or train, to witnessing her Father nearly kill her brother clearly scarred her and gave her the resolve to be better than her instincts. And, to some bittersweet degree, to also ct as a role model to her father that they don't have to be the legendary beast mercenaries everyone assumes they are. It's probably just an assumption, but I bet Kagura could also tell Umibozu had a fear and insecurity that he could not be proper Father for either children. And she wanted to prove him wrong to help him change for the better.
