    I write the same comment on all of her videos: you 2 are preserving and archiving the Muay Thai art form in a way never before done and your archives will be studied by peoples a hundred or more years from now.

    2:15 the impressive thing is that in slow motion you can see how he throws his leg that high, but the control and balance to lay his foot like that , it seems like it is executed without having to step 🤯🤯🤯

    Hi, could you make a video explaining why muay thai fighters, specially Thai fighters doesn't do much head/upper body movement like boxers does to evade. Thanks in advance!

    • @nathanieldravis1511
      @nathanieldravis1511 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well something I know is it's hard to have good head movement without a heavy lead leg. Obviously in Muay Thai, a heavy lead leg = a very sore leg. Most Thai's are light on their lead leg.

    • @nathanieldravis1511
      @nathanieldravis1511 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thai's also stand taller which makes it harder to evade.

    • @johnlloyddy7016

      Plus the fact that a good teep can pretty much neutralize most jab straight combinations before it can even start to get off.

    • @Kevin3310
      @Kevin3310 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      micromiro23 They fight at further distances because their main scoring technique is the middle kick, they have teeps, and clinching to help neutralize punches.

      They are not all the same. Look saenchai. Also, they do not go low for fear of knees to the head.

  • @robertrobertson8575
    @robertrobertson8575 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Would you say this is a different style than the "staying in the frame" kick that Sagat showed you?
    It seems like this kick travels on a arc from the outside rather than straight up and then flipping over.

    • @chrisstarrman
      @chrisstarrman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think rather than a different style - I'd like to see it as a different weapon - the idea of Sagat's Kick is more towards slipping through the guard vs Boonlai's kick which is more towards smashing the guard - these men are probably just sharing the kicks that have worked best for them in their careers.
      The great thing is, you can use both! Mixing the kicks up is just going to make it harder for your opponent to catch on to what you're doing - Bazooka Joe has a really good video breaking down the 3 different types of head kicks he uses (He has a more blasty one like Boonlai, a kyokushin inspired one that's more snappy (more for setups) and a downward arching one similar to what Sagat teaches. Hope this helped!

    Wow beautiful.i think one of the most useful things i got from Tae kwon Do was the kicking form very similar to what you call the golden kick then years later i remember seeing Duke Roufus teaching a seminar and showing this kick which makes sense being that he trained at Jockey Gym with a murderers row of legends and Kru Yodtong still alive.I remember him teaching it to a muay thai school and telling them how the fighters with a TKD background always picked up the quickest in his coaching experience like Anthony Pettis. I cant wait to go out to Thailand and train and learn some really awesome stuff. Question Sylvie: With all the legends in the library, are there any that you are still looking for (kind of like that ultra trading card or something lol) but cant find??
