@@GXBOB all of them are flickering when I put it into drive. One of them will not even light up in the back. I don’t know if you notice that it dims when in drive. When it’s in park, everything is bright and fine.
@@polee9699 ill check tonight but technically these are footlights that light up for you to enter your car and see your step during opening and closing your door. It’s not many to be on when you drive. I haven’t noticed this problem but I’ll check again tonight.

Been watching all yr valuable GX460 videos, plan to get a 14~16 model , just don't know why Lexus don't come with front view camera , even my 2003 Toyota Alphard van has 3 heads front view camera stock. ( Its a right hand drive but i live in the bay area )

Hey man, I hope you can shed some light here. Today I was replacing one of the LED light for the passenger side since it went out, I mistakenly had the two wires touch for a split second. Here's the problem that this lead. You know how in P mode the LED lights go realy bright for the underseat? Then when you put to D mode to drive, it dims. After the two wires have touched, now it's staying dimmed all the time. Even after putting into Park mode. It makes me belive there is some type of current control unit and when I had the two wire touch it may have messed that up. What do you think?
Will, i wish i could help you but this will be a diagnostic nightmare as there is not much info written on this subject. You definitely fried a resistor somewhere along those lines. There are aftermarket units out that can be utilized to regain your oem functions again but its more work than worth the effort. I typically use this relay module to perform stuff like that along with relays.

Hi Bob, I bought the LED's and plan to install soon. Quick question, is there a reason you used butt connectors on the driver side only instead of electric tape as you did on the passenger side?
because the butt connectors , i felt, didn't do a good job at holding the very thin wires. I had more confidence in just twisting the wires together to make the connections and taping them up for extra security. Soldering is overkill so i didn't bother with that either. I will be making another video to do an upgrade for this video.

When I installed, the light only looked like little white dots. Not bright at all. I followed all your instructions. Maybe faulty leds?
Try reversing your wires would be a start. Then if that doesn’t work. Id seriously check if your positive is grounding somewhere. Also take t your led and hook it up directly to your car battery and see if it’s producing the same output just to make sure your lights are not faulty.
@@GXBOB The led worked directly from the battery as you suggested. I would have to look if theres any wires grounded somewhere. I haven’t installed anything other than the led bar under the plastic bumper. Thanks Bob!
Same here. Tried different LEDs on both of the rear footwell plugs and both were barely bright enough to see...just the same little white dots. I tried the chips against the battery and both were VERY bright.
@@chrisfisher523 that is very odd. Mine came out super bright. I’m assuming you cut off the old oem led and not sharing the light source.
@@GXBOB I just reused the plugs under the seats and plugged the prongs right in the same as you did. I will likely put the originals back because, even as dim as they are, as they were brighter than these new ones. I have not tried the fronts yet as I am reluctant to cut the wires to end up with less light.
th lexus rx uses the same LED bulb, but in white. that may be an easier solution

Great job but I don’t agree with the the way you attached the wires. At best you could have used a butt-connector but prefer the solder and shrink wrap method
Andre, the wire gauges for this application is gravely tiny to make even the smallest butt connectors effective. The method i used was simple, straightforward, and required no soldering so that the masses that don't have mechanical or electrical aptitude can attack over the weekend. I even did a video on basic electrical that introduces butt connectors, crimpers, and wire cutters.
I hear that the blue lights are harder to install than the white ones.
You have heard correctly my friend. It has a lot to do with how the magnetic forces on a blue spectrum interacts with the algae content in the atmosphere.

Thanks for the heads up. As you know these suppliers do run out or are no longer in business so i had to go in to update the link to a different supplier. Most likely it'll happen again when this supplier runs out too. I usually just do a keyword search using 5x white 48 SMD LED and a whole bunch of suppliers show up with the same stuff:

Hi Maria. I always select "not made for kids" when publishing due to the content. When i first started i decided to focus on a particular group of audience that will be more comfortable and relatable with my personality. I agree its not for everyone but i do get a lot of emails, comments, fanmail, that encourage me to continue and keep it real. Sort of like stand up comedy in Las Vegas. Some people choose to get up and leave and others stay because its different and straightforward...no sugarcoating anything. The channel is meant to be different than the rest because it adds entertainment. There are hundreds of other channels that gets straight to the point and just fixes cars. I chose not to go that direction. In the end, i live by the quote, "you can't please everyone". I do appreciate the comment though Maria, trust me, you're not the first to mention this and i guarantee you , you wont' be the last. If i were to continue to do this channel and be like everyone else on TH-cam, i would have shut down the channel a long time ago. It would no longer be fun to me. Of course, i do this out of my own time and money. I get paid pennies and get freebies here and there, but my happy place comes from having fun being myself. Suggestion: Use a square of Gorilla tape for the rear seat placement to give you a flat surface and tape your light to that. Bam!
