- This week we pick up our new home tiny home on wheels, and Van life Africa truly begins. But first we head to Franschoek and discover one of the worlds most diverse floral kingdoms, the Fynbos before heading to a garden that inspires possible future projects.
It's been a busy week with a flight up to Johannesburg, where we collect our 4x4 and discover how we will be living for the next few months.
All very exciting!
We are the Newbys, John, Tara, and our two little boys Crusoe and Sawyer. We’re a family who are pursuing an alternative lifestyle, and after two years of full time travel we’ve taken root on an abandoned farm in Northern Portugal which we’re renovating into our dream off-grid homestead. We release new videos every Sunday sharing our story, and we’d love for you to be a part of it with us. Lovely scenery again and love the new wheels, when you are driving along we can see more of Crusoe sitting facing the camera, and see his facial expressions, love it! Can't wait for the vehicle walk around to see what you have in it and how it all works. Rather you three than me though, can't handle small spaces, but Im sure all the places you are going to be able to visit, will make it all worth while. Cannot wait for next week, big like from me!!!

South Africa is beautiful. Spent the morning in Lion Park just north of Joberg and bought a wallet from a roadside store from JoBerg to Pretoria. I still have that wallet. Had I known it would have lasted this long (Buffalo hide) I would have bought 2 of them! Only 5 dollars usd. One of my best investments.
