- Our final stop during our SoCal travel vlog is at arguably the best Malaysian restaurant in America, Season's Kitchen, Anaheim. Here, the ended up hiring Rachel to work at the restaurant for the day!

Had so much fun hosting The Kumaar Family on a regular business day! Our spirits are always lifted with their content and it’s helped us boost our morale through the toughest times keeping the restaurant afloat during the pandemic. We’re not completely clear from the pandemic but it certainly feels safer with so many of us vaccinated!

I'm a Spaniard military man who was helping in Indonesia and Malaysia due to the 2004 tsunami. I have very good memories when I was in Kuala Lumpur. The people are very nice and I love their food. I have been watching your videos for a short time and I really love them. It's a tradition in Malaysia to help out in the kitchen when visiting people's house especially during wedding, we called it "rewang". During this time makcik2 membawang & you can also know some secret recipe of the food.
Literally..membawang.. slice the onion not like now.. “membawang”😬
Indeed.. Of course we can 'Membawang' with dipping rojak & sambal belacan!
Membawang is now synonymous with local gossiping.

These guys could actually end up in TLC. This lady could cook wonders . Malaysian food is not Chinese Indian or Malay but rich mix of cultural heritage.

Rachel is doing such a great job! I didn't know how to cut a crab too and to keep the butter. Nice vid! Very informative. Glad Season's kitchen is doing so well. The deco and food look so nice with all the Malaysian elements.

The crab with smaller and thin tail flaps are male... The one with the larger tail flap are females. They need the larger tail flaps to carry their eggs😜🙏🏻

I went to Annehein, US in 2013. But I didn't see this restaurant. So we end up mostly eating in Mexican restaurants..
For those who don't know, 'batu seremban' translates into 'seremban rock', but it's not a rock. It's a sewn tiny pillow-like thing a little bigger than an adult man's thumb usually filled with mung beans (called green beans in Malaysia). It's just something that teaches kids counting and hand-eye coordination.
I call it 'batu serimban' though. To be fair, nobody really knows how it really should be called anymore since 'e' sound in Malay can either be pronounced as 'ay' or 'er'. Originally the 'e' vowel were separated into 'e' and 'ə', where 'e' was pronounced as 'ay' and 'ə' was pronounced as 'er'. So 'seremban' would be pronounced 'seraymban' while 'serəmban' would be pronounced as 'serermban'. Unfortunately, the DBP standardization mixed both into 'e', with 'e' having two different vowel sounds.
I play batu seremban with rocks tho😅🤣 I'm not exactly that rajin to sew 7 or 5 bags of beans so I just pick some nicely shaped rocks instead
