    Thanks for the review!
    I'm interested in Guardians of the galaxy (even though epic gave it away a while ago), SpongeBob, Astrea and infraspace, so will definitely pick it up.
    I think it's interesting that you suck at parking was in a fanatical bundle a few months ago already - Usually it's the other way around.
    Thanks again for all the effort and the fast upload of this video
    I also feel the same way about a playtest. Like we're cheated out of a game in order to pay for a playtest

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Huh, interesting. I pretty much never pay attention to Fanatical. Actually, I hardly ever pick up any other Humble bundle besides Choice. Occasionally, one will roll around that is too good to pass up. But a lot of the time I either decide I have too many games anyway or I own a good chunk of the bundle that there's no point in spending the 20 or maybe 30 something dollars just for the one or two games that I really want from it.
      We weren't necessarily cheated out of game...I mean there were 8 games in the bundle. But I get what you mean. It just feels strange.
      And no problem! I'm glad the review can help.

  • @TheOrian34
    @TheOrian34 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Wait a minute, is this month...?
    Parking is probably one I'm the most unsure about, but since there's solo gameplay I should give it a try.
    Infraspace could be fun? It seemed quite slow though.
    Astrea was on my wishlist, and it looks great fun.
    Eidolons, well, another wishlist that looks fun enough.
    Spongebob, just like the previous one, I think there's a surprising quality to the game, and even the silly humor has some self awareness that doesn't make it grating like last month's HoL.
    Coral was on my wishlist before, but reading some reviews made me wonder if I wanted it. I'll still give it a shot because the genre tends to be fun, we'll see. Not to mention the issues they are in after humble games shut down...
    Stranded, haha, had ended in ignored as well I think because of the graphics and I wasn't sure what the game was about. Also the reviled dean uvno. But maybe it's worth a shot after all.
    Guardians, I tend to ignore any game that doesn't show gameplay in the screenshots or a franchise game, however I think seeing some footage, it can be alright. Kinglink enjoying it has def influenced my decision, along with midnight suns.
    So yeah, this month is kinda wild. Only 2 wishlists, and 3 ignored list, and somehow not a single skip. FIguring out the monthly game is going to be a challenge too as they all seem decently long, lol. Let's see how I manage to handle all the work too.
    Last month, I played Universe for Sale, and it was an interesting experience. Only 4 hours so didn't overstay its welcome for sure.
    Really hoping the post displays this time lol.

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, judging from what Kinglink said in his video, it seems that the singleplayer is the only really viable way of playing You Suck At Parking at this point.
      InfraSpace felt very slow to me...I just couldn't help but feel like there were so many other city-builders I would rather play.
      Spongebob does have an endearing nature to its humor...but I did grow up with it so that's probably why it's a lot more tolerable to me than something like High On Life.
      I saw similar reviews on Coral Island...but I didn't really notice any bugs though. I did only spend an hour with it, but it did seem like a solid game. And I'm unsure if the closing of Humble Games will really affect their development that much. It will probably depend on what terms they had with Humble Games and whether the can be independent with their own IP. Or take it to another publisher. I hope so because I very much would like to see the multiplayer update and expansion to children in the future.
      Basically, like I said, if you like Rimworld or games like Rimworld, then you'll like Stranded. Otherwise, yeah, don't bother with it.
      Hadn't noticed the screenshots at all, but you're right...they don't really show gameplay lol. Although, as many others have said, Guardians really does nail it here for a good gaming experience. I definitely plan on doing a review for it in the future.
      As far as looking for a game to finish, Spongebob is only around10 hours. That's not too horrible. Not sub-5 hours though if that's what you're looking for. I definitely need to go back to Universe for Sale myself. It definitely had an interesting setting.

    • @TheOrian34
      @TheOrian34 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews For spongebob, it's good to note that I didn't grow up with it and honestly didn't watch much of it at all. So I guess it's a good sign on the game if it didn't make me recoil.
      And I'm not 100% sure it would be the right one since I'd have to play the first one too (I'm an annoying franchise completionist, lol), I'll check the average times in reviews for each game, I think parking is likely the best candidate. I also have to consider I'm on laptop so any heavy game is out too.
      guardians: 20-30h
      stranded: 300h
      coral: 150h
      spongebob: 15h
      eidolons: 50h
      astrea: 15-30h
      infraspace: 30h
      parking: 10-15h

    Nicely done.
    Trying to decide if I want to skip or not. I also already have Guardians on Epic. But Stranded looks like my thing. Lost Eidolons also, but I have way too many that look similar. Many are excited by Coral but I don't know.... I believe these few, plus an extra copy of Guardians but on steam, are worth what I'd be paying. Just over 8 bucks.
    Infraspace looks interesting. But I can see the potential disappointment.

      Don't think you can go wrong for $8. Even if it's just for those 4 games alone. You'd be spending $2 per game and I guarantee none of those games will ever go that low a la carte. Add in InfraSpace and even if you're disappointed with it then you only spent very little to get maybe an hour of entertainment out of the game.

Mine ends in Dec. I've skipped one (the one with "Callisto Protocol") and waited too late to skip another (the one with "Risk of Rain 2"). It's a really tough choice. I do think that them doing some publicity for Rue Valley's Alpha is good, especially since it's a game apparently published by Owlcat Games (Pathfinder developers, they started publishing games recently.) Now the fact that it is on Epic ... well it's probably better to not bother too much with the monetary stuff.
    I was looking forward to your video since there is a lot of games there that I didn't know well. (Actually all of them outside of Guardian of the Galaxy)

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess that's true. Hadn't thought of it from a marketing point of view. I had seen that Owlcat was publishing now as well. They have another one that looked more interesting to me - Shadow of the Road. I'm not entirely sure of the fantastical elements in that game, but you give me Meiji Japan and I'm all over it (that period was what I studied when I was a history grad student).
      What I don't get is why didn't they just have it as a Steam alpha?? I mean it literally says wishlist on Steam. Maybe there's some timed exclusivity going on? I don't know.

    • @SenMayerGaming
      @SenMayerGaming หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews I've seen that game ! Indeed Japan setting is always cool. I do not know much about the Meiji era, is the era around 1200? If that's the correct one then I just know the famous tale of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Benkei as everybody does I think.
      Maybe Epic paid them for that ? But it would be surprising to be honest, as that game is really low profile.
      Anyway anything related to Epic on PC nowadays is dead in the water. (Outside of Fortnite obviously.)

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SenMayerGaming Not quite. The Meiji period was the latter half of the 19th century. It was during a time when Japan went through a lot of changes because they were adopting Western technology and ideology while at the same time having a lot of pushback for the preservation of traditional Japanese societal thinking. It's a pretty cool time period and I think it's highly underrated. Especially because most games that have a Japanese setting usually only concentrate on Sengoku Jidai (latter end of the 16th century in particular).
      Yeah, I don't get it. I think the only way that Epic exclusivity makes any sense is if they are offering a ton of money and even then I think it probably hurts the game more than helps it. But enh, guess that's just my gut instinct as I don't really have any evidence proving or disproving that.

    • @SenMayerGaming
      @SenMayerGaming หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews I was completely off, haha.
      Isn't that the era that the new game from Team Ninja did use for their last game "Rise of the Ronin" ?
      I'm not really good with Japan history and stuff but i guess thats the era with the Admiral Perry forcing Japan to open its borders, at least from you describe it seems to be that.
      Hades did what that game is doing with an open beta on Epic and then releasing on Steam later, but I do not know how many people cared to bother with Hades when it was on Epic.
      Also Hades and that game are two totally different beasts.

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SenMayerGaming Sorta. Rise of the Ronin actually takes place in the Bakumatsu period which is the last 10 years or so of the Edo period before the Meiji Restoration. But more or less, yes.
      And no worries, man. Honestly, I've forgotten a lot of what I've learned because it's been such a long time since I was in school. Most of my time was spent on the formation of a modern education system in Japan during that time as well so I really am no expert or anything. And I quit grad school so definitely not lol
      Did not realize Hades started on Epic...but yeah, you're right. Definitely not comparable.

    • @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews
      @StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say yes, but it depends. If you like third person adventure games with some shooting mechanics then you'll like this for the gameplay more than likely. I think there is a stronger push on narrative here as well. I don't think you need to be familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy to play this game. You'll pick up what you need to know just by playing the game. It also depends on how much you like things of a comical nature. Guardians of the Galaxy are kinda goofy so if you don't care for that then you might not like this.
      Obviously, if you watch the movies (really you could get away with just the first one if you wanted) or if you read the comics (I have never have) then things would be more familiar. I don't think it's necessary. If you thought any of the other games in the bundle looked like something you'd like though then I'd recommend giving it a try if you already were picking the bundle up.

    Skipped this one unfortunately. I don't like Marvel's style so Guardians of the Galaxy was an instant no. I can't say I thought Coral Island looks bad, but "cosy" farming sims get thrown into so many bundles and I don't need another. Stranded's genre isn't one I necessarily dislike, but I can't see it ending up on the backlog at any point. I also don't like how much of a trend roguelikes have become, it's insane. Already got enough of them, so hard pass on Astrea. I don't think you're wrong about Infraspace, it does look pretty boring. And I already have You Suck At Parking.
    On the other hand, Lost Eidolons is one I might have played as Fire Emblem is pretty fun. I'm not a Spongebob fan but I do enjoy classic 3D platformers so it's one I'd probably give a chance one day. So that's basically a 2/8 worthwhile games in this bundle for me. And yeah, the whole thing with the Epic playtest is weird. If anything, I wonder if the dev/publisher paid Humble to do this. Why pay for QA testers? Just package up the opportunity to do that work so they don't have to as a generous free extra.
