    Never have been a fan of novels clearly written with political influence. On a positive note, I've just started McEwan's 'The Child in Time,' and am, so far, quite pleased.

    been a big fan too..but think he is struggling a bit now though...go for a dystopia next time Ian...that's what we're heading for...nothing mystic about Populism.

    Ah yes!.......the Great Writer . Who spends most of his time
    whining about lost trade deals because of Brexit ..!?!
    Can you imagine Proust / Joyce / Strindberg doing anything
    similar ? Just sums up this snivelling little petit bourgeois
    navel gazer . !!

      He's a minger too .! No doubt his
      artistic / literary talents assist him in overcoming that problem. ?
      It's part of the reason they actually
      become " writers "...
