When do you go to the PT?? But for real, loved this. Definitely need full control to sac the Jadar token. I loved the interaction between Kaya and the decayed tokens. As far as planeswalker power relative to creature power in the lore, that changes throughout magics history. Early on, pre-mending, planeswalkers were akin to Gods. They were immensely powerful. Then the planeswalkers had to work together to mend the multiverse of rifts (where the suspend mechanic comes from iirc), giving up most of their power in the process. As the mending is happening, nicol bolas goes to Amonhket and uses his still god-like powers to set up the events of the amonkhet/war of the spark storyline. I believe in one of the stories it even mentions that he can feel his power fading as he's working. If the Elder spell had been successful, he believes he would be close to his previous power level before giving most of it up to the mending. Post-mending walkers are still powerful, but I would assume they walk among a plane's most powerful creatures more than be a head above them. There's probably planes where they'd be challenged by monsters but not people (ikoria), and planes they'd be challenged by well-known public figures (ravnica). That being said, walkers *tend* to have special abilities that make them unique even among the upper echelon of power (see Kaya's ghostform abilities and Jace's massive intellect as an example). Post march of the machines, the Sylex blowing up in the blind eterneties severely changed many walkers in an event known as the spark rupture, most of them losing their spark entirely. While we don't know everyone who lost their spark, we can assume the most powerful remained. De-sparked walkers are on record feeling less powerful than they did before, I'd wager losing some of what made them special. They are still legendary creatures as they're important to the story, but both in game and in-universe their power seems much more limited.
When the cards were shown for the set this was one of the first archtypes that popped to time. Awesome build.
Thanks a lot! Playtesting the deck right now actually. Trying to get it perfect.
I do like this deck. I have been wanting to build a solid bw tokens for awhile
The new Kaya planeswalker goes hard with Nightmare Shepherd
