You know, in hindsight it was probably a better choice to put my ramblings down here or in a pinned comment but oh well...
Anyway, at some point I really need to think of better visual aids for these types of videos outside of just words on a screen. At least with the Undersiders videos/any future videos involving a faction/group I can include my questionable quality character icons I come up with.
On another note, besides my video script probably needing one more revision for better topic transitions my vocal intonations at points really did not help, but I digress. Eventually I'll get better at talking.

3:30 The entities lack creativity. They use other species to do their thinking for them, to develop the shards through unique conflict- find the best ways to utilize the powers the shards already have, and potentially gain new powers adapted from their host species. It's implied all the abilities of the shards were stolen, at least in some rudimentary form, from different aliens in other dimensions thousands of years ago. Which kind of explains tinkers, when you think about it- technologies unique to various species, small facets of which were placed into the heads of some capes to develop and expand upon.

While I tend to be vague in more recent videos, I think I was significantly more "coy" and vague with things in older videos. I would say in large part because, as I've said several times before, I had a different view of what I was doing at the time.

Could you do a video on what kinds of stresses cause ceirtain powers to develop? Like, what causes a brute vs. a striker trigger?

The thing about that topic is that the whole notion of Triggers is that it is sort of random. Like, off the top of my head when people talk about Triggers and what powers are "born" from them, it is a lot of speculation.
As in, while there can be general indicators as to what potential power one can get, given certain variables, there are a whole lotta other variables that make guessing that same power complicated.
In reference to other videos and even this video, being the offspring of capes/ being in constant close proximity to certain capes can influence what power one gets regardless of the Trigger Event itself. More so, given the same Trigger Event, different people could develop different powers depending on a whole slew of things, assuming the same event would even Trigger other people besides the "original" person in the situtation.
Perhaps more importantly, even if one was able to control all the possible variables a human could control, a person can not (generally) choose what Shard they even have.
Even then, as a bit of a "spoiler", even when Cauldron was able to give powers in a vial to the point where they could give a good general guess of the likely nature of a power, it still wasn't certain.
All that being said, while that may not be the answer you were looking for, that's the one I had off the top of my head. I think my video on the Kiss/Kill Dynamic may give you partially more insight on powers but I don't think it will still quite give you what you are asking.
Uh, one last thing, while not canon, I think there is a power randomizer people use when playing Weaver Dice that acts as a way to simulate a Trigger Event that can give you some idea on how "random" powers can be.

@@SobriquetPlumenom I'd say that the guidelines for the categories are somewhat accurate, even if not nessesarely true
(ward spoiler:) think of damsel of distress' trigger event, the combo of psychological ambient danger and single target phisical danger from her father led to a striker/shaker power
the shard she got of course is entirely outside of her trigger event, but we know that shards even if they dont nessesarely match the trigger perfectly that they do seek out individuals whom would likelly have fitting triggers (or ar in the process of it) such as with imp, her power and trigger are peak stranger and the focus on memory fits her perfectly (even if that is the shard's focus and thus outside of relation to the trigger)
there are outliers of course tho

As far as I was able to understand. If I've learned anything from doing these videos; it is how the wiki over-interprets info, how the wiki does not have certain info I think it should, and how some of their sourcing is kind of iffy.
Not to mention how WIldbow more or less likes to keep certain things vague and/or not fully explained. It is not a bad thing per say, but oh boy am I thankful of those in the past for archiving the random comments he posted about certain topics in various places, it would have been a nightmare to try to find that all myself. That said, I don't think I would have known where to start, nor if I would have even started doing these video if I had to do that myself.

@@SobriquetPlumenom You are certainly right about the Wiki. I read it because I'm desperate for more Worm, but your videos feel far more reliable to me.
I Also cannot thank you enough for uploading Worm content. I'd go mad if there was only Ward to scratch that itch.

@@SobriquetPlumenom from what i've read of Ward, it does fill that niche. It is certainly it's own thing, i'm just glad it's a thing set in the Parahumans universe.
