As a former VFX artist, the best VFX are the stuff that are seamless. The 'invisible' stuff that blends in so well with the on set stuff that you think its the actual set. The VFX environments, space scenes, ship landings, atmosphere effects were AWESOME and on par with the Denis Dune films! Well done to the VFX teams and to the VFX supervisors that worked on this show! It was an absolute treat watching all of this!
Dune Prophecy was a blast, very true to the Dune world and lore! Hands down the best series I have seen in a while, with a great script, stellar casting and incredible production design. I was impressed by the immersion created by the beautiful costumes and the huge sets - visually stunning. Thank you! I look forward to season 2.
Dune Prophecy really stick the landing in the season finale , and now I so excited for season 2 . I think the Dune franchise have a brigth future in the tv screen and in the big screen .
The visual effects of this series were very good because I was fully immersed in the universe. The emperors palace I found a nuisance to see 😂 but everything overall was very well done. Season 2 !!!
6 episodes per 2 years is becoming an annoying trend. If it’s a tv show make it longer, we are okay with just watching couple of characters talk in a room for more than 5 minutes. Don’t need crazy visual effects or production for scenes like that.
I liked the season but I was not a fan of the Shai-Hulud namedropping. Yes the Bene Gesserit could have in theory planted that name with the Missionaria Protectiva, but the name Shai-Hulud is only spoken amongst the Fremen in Frank Herbert's book. It kind of cheapens their sacredness if everybody keeps calling them that on Salusa Secundus. Also, like Dune 2 the use of the voice is so frequent it makes it hard to believe this is a secret power that few people outside the Bene Gesserit know of.
Well, there was a Fremen among their ranks who was, to some degree, willing to sell out her people (until she wasn't). Not difficult to imagine that info could've come from her. And who knows what info the Sisterhood has been able to come by across the decades by other more insidious means.
They esthablish a few times that the queen is a religious woman and her husband obviously rules Arrakis. She even gives her daughter a veil created by the Wanderers of Harmonthep, ancestors of the Fremen, and says the veil was previously worn by her mother. At that point in time, it hasn't been that long since the Zensunni wanderers retreated into the deep dessert. It would be more common knowledge than it is 10,000 years later.
The "Fremen" and their (fake) religious beliefs barely even exist at this point in time (10,000 years before FH's books) the Machine War ended no more than 100 odd years ago so it makes sense that terminology would be more widespread at the time as humanity is less segmented having just established the Imperium. In any case, the Empress has come into contact with the Zensunni Wanderers (the precursors to the Fremen) she literally said so.
