Heart- Alone Pet Shop Boys- What I've Done To Deserve This Whitney Houston- The Greatest Love Of All, One Moment In Time Cher- Shoop Shoop Song Usher- Scream Justin Timberlake- Can' Stop The Feeling
@sjc4 she mentioned that Stevie backed her up in that song...I never knew that... I also didn't know about her untimely untimely death 4 years later. That's so incredibly sad. I used to listen to her record as a little girl with my mother along with all of Stevies Wonders music, The Temptations, 4 Seasons, along with others I can't think of during the early 70's forward into the 80's, maybe even earlier when I was a tiny tot, Lol. Every song brings me a great memory. I just realized my dad probably has all of the albums still even though she's passed away. Going through those would be so fun. I still need to upgrade my turn table and sound system. Mine is currently unworthy of any LP's. Anyone have any suggestions? I would like speakers too....but will have to get things a little at a time (maybe).
@@kscarfe5702you might try an electronics store in your area such as Best Buy. That’s a start. Problem is most of the employees won’t be audiophiles like you’d find at an old fashioned stereo shop but they may be able to point you in the right direction. My parents had a bunch of old 78 rpm records and their turn table could handle those so I got to listen to old Billie Holiday recordings and others of that era. The turntables gave up on 78 and 16 so anything we had would not move forward if we replaced the equipment. They gave up also on 45s, there went my collection 🙂.
The only thing that irritates me is that people always mention “Loving You” as her most difficult song, but it’s not. It’s just her most popular song. Many of her other songs like “Inside My Love” and “Memory Lane” are more challenging. Her hardest songs are “Reasons” and “Could It Be I’m In Love”, where she holds notes for an incredibly long time and then makes her voice sound like a bird chirping in the middle of a note. Never heard anyone else who could do that.
I did Bohemian Rhapsody with an absolute stranger at a karaoke bar once, as she was looking for a partner. Surprisingly enough, we harmonized very well and fell into our parts easily! It was so much fun! The crowd absolutely loved it! I didn't get her name but I hope she knows she freaking killed it on the mic!
I witnessed an entire wedding party perform “Bohemian Rhapsody” at a local bar, and could tell it was going to be a tough act to follow. Spoiler alert number 1, it was a regularly-scheduled karaoke night, the wedding party was the party crasher, so to speak. Spoiler alert 2, I was up afterwards, performing “Wasted Years” by Iron Maiden. Ever since then, I have come to believe that “Wasted Years” is a great song for such an occasion (you do have to know what the song is about to understand). 🎵🎶Don’t waste your time always searching for those wasted years!🎶🎵
@@NiiloPaasivirta It's a tough number for sure! If you don't have your breathing techniques figured out and don't adjust too well to key changes you're absolutely lost trying to perform this! Massive respect to Queen for delivering this masterpiece.
Meh. I never had any trouble singing it. Aside from Rogers falsetto I think it really isnt that hard. And I find thats true for many other songs on this list. At least for me. I started singing when I was nine and started simply by imitating the styles of Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, George Michael, Pink Floyd and Simon and Garfunkel (my mom always played good music around the house) and by the time I was 20 I could rip most of their songs with little to no problem.
Wise words about Michael Jackson! People tend to forget how talented he was because they only focus on his dance or image... He was a talented, wonderful singer!! Miss him so much!!

@@robertomangani3788 A2 - C6 is excellent range and is well above average. Many people can squeak out the highest note with crappy tone and go into vocal fry to claim they have "6 oCtAvEs oF rAnGe" but to actually sound good throughout your range is quite a feat. Not many people sound as good as Bolton does throughout their 3 octaves
The most difficult song to cover is Michael Jackson's Earth Song. Many did but no one perfectly sings it like him. The song also gives a powerful message to the world.
I am super impressed that you included Kate Bush in this list. 'Wuthering Heights' is brutal on the vocal cords but, when done by Bush, it's a beautiful song.
@@serenabussell8489 I have been listening to Kate Bush since Wuthering Heights came out and then she released "Babushka" I love the intro to that song, always humming it to be my self when waiting for something Or when I get a annoying tune stuck in my head, pick any Kate Bush song and the tune is gone
Steve Perry in his prime was so effortless in his ability to move from octave to octave that it is a very small group of vocalists performing today that can emulate it.
I grew up with his voice. I was lucky to see and hear them 3 times in the day. All three in the DC Metro area were just good gigs. I'm 54 now, I like different music now and that's cool. I was really happy for 1 Escape and 2 Frontier PS. 😊 Just a kiss d then 😊
@@demos9836 Just about any of the BeeGees songs could be on this list but my favourite is their last, "Alone" will always hold a special place in my heart along with a hard "nope" if asked to try and sing along.
Bridge over trouble water ? And Unchain Melody? I didn't know it was so difficult to sing, but Elvis sings it so spectacularly. And the last one playing the piano at the same time. Good job King
Shocked not to see Prince on here. The Beautiful Ones and Darling Nikki come to mind. He has the growls like Steven Tyler and the falsetto of Frankie Valle. He is hard to imitate without sounding silly. Adore is another ballad that requires a lot of theatrics and a touch of cheeky humor.
One of my favorite TH-cam videos is Heart performing Stairway to Heaven, live …. In front of Led Zeppelin with John Bonham’s son on drums. Bring tears to my eyes every time I watch it.
You give good love by Whitney Houston will remain one if the most well delivered songs vocally by this incredible singer for me. Please listen to this song and you'll know what I mean
And people always think I Will Always Love You is the hardest. And I'm like no, that song is not that difficult, honestly. Not easy, but not that difficult. Try I Have Nothing, now, you're talking. People hear I Will Always Love You and think of the impact of the song, cause it's an iconic song. However, Whitney had more technically difficult songs than I Will Always Love You.
@AseBonani you are absolutely right. I will always love you is very emotionally impactful song. More of a belting song but not much vocal gymnastics. I Have Nothing requires more vocal talent and skill.
One Moment In Time with a full fledged orchestra in front of hundreds of esteemed guests (no cuts or double takes here) is a difficult number to pull off, as one single misstep in the vocal intonation can bring it all collapsing down in a heap of a mess.
Thanks for giving credit where credit is due. Emotions is definitely the hardest song to sing in American music. People are always trying to underminer Mariah. I've listened to that song hundreds of times and it never ceases to amaze me. Listening to her sing it live (when she was in her prime) is even more mind-blowing. Check it out. She can make anything sound better live than on record. An absolute perfectionist with every note. A vocal talent like we've never seen.
Whitney Houson gave me chills in that movie with that song, it is also brought home with the story line of her love for Frank and their split. Chilling!❤
I really love to sing Take on me and at least for me it is not hard to hit that high note. Don't stop believing is much harder because Steve Perry has real power behind the voice at that range.
As a lead singer myself, with a powerful voice, I've not found many songs that hard to emulate, however, Steelheart's lead singer, Miljenko Matijevic, singing "She's Gone," is extremely difficult to pin down. Keep in mind, I can sing like Geoff Tate, formally of Queensryche, but still have problems following the voice of Matijevic. The guy is just a power unto his own. Ah-Ha - Take on Me is no "walk in the park" either, but Matijevic, and Perry, formally the lead of Journey, are what most of us wish we sounded like. They're my heroes.
#10 - In my mind, Art Garfunkel’s performance of Bridge over Troubled Water at the Concert in Central Park rates as one of the greatest live popular performances, ever.
Bill Withers is constantly overlooked when discussing male singers with incredible range. I'm glad you mentioned him though. Not to mention the simple fact that I'm in absolute agreement with you. 👍😊👍
I was expecting "Barracuda" by Heart to be on this list. And "No Good Deed" from "Wicked" musical should be on this list, too. But I'm impressed and delighted to see "Hurt" on this list. What an amazing song and epic vocal performance!
I do not agree with this list. I would easily say that Dimash Kudaibergen is almost impossible for most vocalists to emulate. Also, there are several voices out there that deserve the spotlight, such as Lionel Richie or Ann Wilson, the lead singer of Heart. The list goes on. Have you ever tried to sing the Chess musical anthem with Tommy Körberg? Good luck singing that one. So, sorry to say, but this list means almost nothing to me. However, it's always great to discover and appreciate diverse musical talents. Have a good evening!
Though y’all nailed the top 3 there is a Disturbing lack of Black male R&B here on this list. You try singing Lately by Jodeci and see if you do need to clear your throat multiple timez and no Luther!?! In addition a lot of Stones songs are hard to sing because of Micks unique tones
Agree although there are others I think are more difficult by Celine: 1. I surrender 2. Then you look at me 3. Le ballet - live version. I think no one can do this! (1995 OR 1997). 4. Mr Paganini
@@chrisofmelbourne87 I Surrender is the Gold Standard when it comes to elevating to another level. But for a countdown like this, not many would know that song - compared to All By Myself.
@@chrisofmelbourne87 my heart will go on is an amazing song the climax leaves me speechless i don't know if you think it is a difficult song to sing but its one of my top 10 songs favourite songs
As a vocalist and 1st soprano can attest that the list is well made emotions is one of the most difficult songs specially because of her riffs and runs with the high and low change mix vocals falsettos and the whistles. It is a very fun song to play with and also learn from.
"Butterfly" by Mariah Carey should have been included. I think even Mariah herself found it challenging to perform live back in the days, as it has only been sung live in full twice: on SNL and the David Letterman Show.
I had to stop the video 1 minute in to go rewatch Toni Braxtons I break my heart…..just….wow. She so gorgeous and her voice made me tear up not to mention the topic of the song. We don’t have women like that comin in these days.
I thought of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Arianna Grande, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler, Michael Jackson, Kristen Cruz....I know I'm missing a bunch.
Whitney Houston set the bar so high for that song. Celine Dion and Christina Aguilera are the only two that I think can match maybe even top Whitney with this song. Whitney just blew poor Dolly out of the water with her own song.
I tell people all the time the star spangled banner is one of the hardest songs to sing. You are constantly switching octaves and it’s easy to focus on the notes and forget the words. Even if you’ve done it well before it doesn’t mean it’ll go well another time lol. I’m just glad that made the list!
Shitty song I don't like the lyrics its a war song and we've been practicing that shit since the day this place was born. "America the Beautiful" should be the anthem.
Dimash's songs....... Stranger ( you need to have all vocal register developed with full resonance, techniques from classical to contemporary, insane mix belting, soprano high F, bass C2, seemless pasagios, unreal vocal and breath control....) his song ogni pietra, Ave Maria ( hardest vocal technique " messa di voche") the story of one sky
So many great songs on this list. Steven Tyler's scream in Dream on gave me goosebumps and my Canadian girl Celine made me grin from ear to ear. Whitney was fkn brilliant! Humans are amazing. 😊❤
I would like to mention "Troy" by Sinéad O'Connor, one of the most powerful, cathartic, unique, and impossible to replicate performances ever. Sinéad's voice goes through 20 different stages and styles of singing throughout the song. "Troy" starts off soft and soulful, then it becomes a hurricane of rage and pain, relentlessly powerful until the end.
My husband and his best friend sang classical stuff in a semi-professional men’s choir their entire lives…on holiday in Rodos they thought they could nail Nothing Compares 2 U during karaoke night -🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. It was traumatic…I wanted to crawl under the table and never show myself again! They were so terrible!!! My husband never tried karaoke again. That same night I went out and sang Talk It Over by Grayson Hugh and I nailed it 😊😊😊.
If you dare to go occidental! You can't skip Dimash Kudaibergen witch is considered to have one of the most wide ranges of all times. SOS is a song with a high level of difficulty, as he performs he's impeccable notes leave one breathless.
Freddie reminds me of Cindi Lauper, who's also noted for having an incredible 4-OCTAVE(!) range in her singing prime. For comparison, Freddie had full command of 3 whole octaves, absolutely mind-blowing!
@@ripleyfry2107 I meant complete control. Freddie could get to a 4th octave, but I meant octaves in which he could comfortably dwell in full command. We all have a range that's comfortable and easily maneuvered within, but then there's that range we can each hit only if we work up to it, and we can't stay long because we're not at the top of our game there. Freddie hit 3 octaves with monster control. Believe me when I say that's impressive enough. We don't need to embellish since there are only 10 octaves our ears can perceive. 3 is a LOT for one human voice, especially considering how sick he was for some of that time.
@@Shaz-Daz That Bolton song... Bon Jovi... Bonnie Tyler, those songs are defined by their voices, not because of incredible range or difficult technical vocal acrobatics.
I have the same view . Rare singers are/were emotionaly and by nature capable to deliver the same song in more impressive way. . It's not from the song but from the singer
Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence", Lara Fabian's "Adagio", "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele, and "Lights by Ellie Goulding come to mind for various reasons. - Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence" has intense build-up, requires great control over volume, and also contains great grit and emotion that are hard to capture. - "Adagio" by Lara Fabian has a large range to be covered, multiple key changes, and a powerful climax that requires phenomenal breath and singing support to execute properly. - Adele's "Rolling in the Deep", similar to "Hello", has insane vocals, not because there are super high notes, but because of the sheer strength packed behind it. Like "Adagio" by Lara Fabian, "Rolling in the Deep" also requires insane vocal support. - "Lights" by Ellie Goulding certainly doesn't sound as difficult, but requires a wide range of singing styles, from chest voice to falsetto to head voice, all of which Goulding switches between throughout the song. From personal experience, it's also hard to stay on-key with.
What about Roy Orbison's "Crying"? So heartfelt and seemingly simple, but those top notes have inspired many other artists to cover it. No "showmanship" but pure talent, control and HEART! Singing at its best.
I always thought that Whitney's version of "I Will Always Love You" is a masterpiece, much better than Dolly's... even in duet in Michael Bolton !! But now i have the proof that i am not the only one thinking so... I enjoyed every minute listening to your selection !! ❤❤❤
Without a doubt, the most difficult songs include "Take Me On" by A-ha. The higher notes are insane, yet Morten effortlessly pulls it off. Let's not forget the accompanying video that became an instant classic. I think it was once (may still be) considered one of the greatest artistic videos of all time. Secondly, Minnie Ripperton: "Loving You". She was beyond gifted and left here too early. Looking back, I do not believe I have ever heard another vocalist attempt that song or hit the highs that she easily manages. with the possible exception of Mariah Carey.
Perry had a helluva voice, for sure. I put Faithfully on CD. My favorite song of all time though is Meatloaf's "For Crying Out Loud".. here: th-cam.com/video/1S1AxSD_31A/w-d-xo.html What set him apart is the emotion and passion he put into EVERY song but with this he even outdid himself. If you're an emotional guy prepare yourself for this one, Jose. I cannot even play this in the presence of my spouse she just starts balling. Not only that Meatloaf has a beautiful speaking voice as well. RIP do I ever love and miss you!
How can I ease the pain should have been in that top 10. I'm a first soprano with a pretty wide vocal range, buuuut the way she hits those notes so effortlessly with so much power. I don't think too many people can begin to touch Lisa Fisher! Very underrated vocalist!!!
I agree with you totally, you do know she was a backup singer on Tina Turner's tours in recent years. Phenomenal singer, I play "how can I ease the pain" from time to time, it's food for the soul.
TOP THIS LIST! GRACE - Jeff Buckley BACK in BLACK - Brian Johnson Anything by Judas Priest Sweet Little Jesus Boy - Larnelle Harris Something Within Me - Mark Kibble Runnin' With the Devil - David Lee Roth Wild is the Wind - Nina Simone Let it Ride - Randy Bachmann Wicked Game - Chris Issac God Hates a Coward - Mike Patton Sin Ella - Gypsy Kings Big Love - Lindsey Buckingham The Pot - Maynard James Keenan Cemetery Gates - Phil Anselmo Freak on a Leash - Jonathan Davis More Than a Feeling - Brad Delp DIMASH... La Wally - Eva Marton WOULD - Layne Staley
Part of the reason why it is hard to get it right with Crawling because he literally pours his experience with (and emotions about) traumatic events into his voice. That is on top of his vocal range, which allows him to go from sounding like an injured innocent to screaming like a demon out for blood.
I kinda like the idea and ambition of Bohemian Rhapsody more than the song itself. It's not the vocal difficulty that makes it so big. It's the bigness of it that makes it so big. Within that bigness, however, few risks of the vocal variety were taken. There's no "high note," nor is there an extreme in any direction other than big. Had it been any bigger, it woulda called for a full orchestra. Had Queen chosen such vocally technical feats, I doubt the song woulda been so "catchy" for those of us who enjoy singing along.
They never ever sang the opera bit live , it just used to go to a screen with their faces on in that iconic grouping. Mercury is arguably the best ever , on this list some of the singers had the best song at the best time , whereas Mercury had the best voice all of the time , pretty much could have had 15 songs on this list by himself.
Love all these songs but every time I hear You Raise Me Up when he hits that chorus I get goosebumps!!!!! Who remembers it from that movie Fun Size with Victoria Justice??? Love it!!!
Haven’t finished the video but I just bet Layne Staley isn’t mentioned. His Love, Hate, Love is amazing. Is Chris Cornel mentioned? Another great vocalist with an amazing range.
When you said Christina Aguilera, my mind went to Fighter. The variations in the tempo and delivery of the lyrics is insane. Especially after a few drinks.
I'd vote "Walk Away" for Xtina, beautiful range from her lowest to highest and very tiring on the throat. Even "Beautiful" and "Reflection" is harder to sing than "Hurt", IMHO...but yeah, when you got emotional singing it (because you feel related) your throat could be closed down with emotions while singing "Hurt". 🥲 Also for Mariah, I vote for "My All". Many girls with high soprano voice who can do the whistle register can sing "Emotions" nowadays (for example Ariana Grande), but I bet Ariana can't touch Mariah's low notes in the end of "My All", showcasing Mariah's dominance in her super wide register (over 5 octave range). Mariah also has songs with super long notes, like "Lead the Way" and "Without You" that can make people pass out trying to hold the note. "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers also got that long note, lovely note indeed.
The only person who ever came close was George Micheal , I often watch that version instead of Freddie , just because of the pressure George must have felt. That concert whilst a great tribute wasn't that great imo , some of the acts just couldn't do the songs justice, then George Michael had a nice warm up with Lisa stansfield , but then smashed somebody to love.
Barenaked Ladies- One Week USA for Africa- We Are The World Jimmy Barnes- Working Class Man James Reyne (Any Song) Twista- Mr Tung Twista (yes it’s rap and doesn't count) The Four Seasons- Big Girls Don’t Cry Carmina Burana O Fortuna Bryan Ferry- Let’s Stick Together Blur- Song 2 Bangles -Walk Like An Egyptian (sucks if you can't whistle ) Ylvis- What Does The Fox Say Joe Cocker (Any Song) Tom Waits (Any Song)
James Reyne songs are hard because no one can understand the words. Not even James can understand what he's singing. And for Barnsey I'd add Too Much Ain't Enough and Flame Trees to that list
What about Floor Jansen Nightwish Ghost Love Score? Or maybe Dimash Unforgettable Day. Or maybe Freewheel Burning from Judas Priest sung by Rob Halford. Or Hallowed Be They Name from Iron Maiden sung by Bruce Dickenson. How about Queensryche Take Hold of the Flame? Oogie Boogie dong from Voiceplay Geoff Castellucci is a monster. I would put any of these songs against at least 75% or more of the songs you have featured. 😅
A Journey song almost as hard as "Don't Stop Belevin'" that is slightly less known is "Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart)" I have done it dor Karoke but did have to go falsetto on some of it.
Josh is classically trained. He gives me shivers. Christina is amazing. Chester was unmatched. Love bon Jovi but nothing special, let's hear Steve Perry. Adele...yes! Aha uhuh. Had never heard of Steelheart but oh yes, more please. Justin, lol. Yeah, I'm British. Owe to Frankie Valey. He hit them notes! Can anybody but Bonnie sing that classic Vampyre song? Earth song, I agree with Jarvis. Art is just so so,no words. The man has a beautiful voice. Kate Bush makes me ill. I do not follow the rest of the sheep over the cliff. She's just bad. Unchained Melody is heart wrenching amazing, especially with Bobby doing it. Ooooo, daddy Steve Tyler, curtsey to the King. Adored Whitney. The Queen, Mariah. You did pretty good on this one.
Steve Perry's my favourite singer and Don't Stop Believin' definitely isn't his hardest song to sing. 'Mother, Father' or 'Lay It Down' would be my picks.
completely forgot it existed I was in a band and we used it as part of our show, listening to that you need to pretty much be an opera singer to have a shot at nailing it
Yeah, I love his music. You raise me up would have not been at the top of my list. Remember When it Rained is my favorite and I believe it is his best. I also love February Song.
I missed Luciano Pavarotti, Elvis Presley, Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Ronnie James Dio, Joss Stone, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Bruce Dickinson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Paul Stanley, Klaus Meine, Michael Kiske, Paul Mccartney and John Lennon, André Mattos, Brian Johnson, Robert Plant, Axl Rose, Tarja Turunen, Ray Gillen, Paul Rodgers, Marie Fredriksson, Janis Joplin, Edith Piaff, Elis Regina, the Eagles, Toto, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Kansas, Joey Tempest, Brad Delp, David Coverdale, The Platters, Lou Gramm, B.B King, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Brian Adams, Sting and Rod Stewart ☺️
@@ftrez82 oh indeed! But I say he’s the greatest since he’s the few I know who has never been called overrated. And sold the most albums. (Not actually, in that underrated category.)
@@FrankSinatrq he’ll be always an icon and the best in his style. I love him and I really forgot to mension. I’m brazilian and I love his work. In final, I saw the vídeo again and mensioned hum and others who I missed. Tks for remembering.
Making Love Out of Nothing At All and Ever Since the World Began should also be on this list. At least honorable mentions. But other than that, this list is almost spot on. Great video!
I would add More Than a Feeling(Boston), Donna(10CC) and This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us(Sparks) to the list, but sometimes it's not the high notes in a song that make them difficult to sing, rather the length of a note eg Lovely Day(Bill Withers), The Air That I Breathe(The Hollies), I Can See Clearly Now(Johnny Nash)and Evergreen/Enough Is Enough(Barbra Streisand).
The Philippine people are friendly, pleasant, generous, receptive, hospitable, humble, non-xenophobic, and they appreciate pop classic songs as well as soft rock music from the 70s and 80s. At least they don't do karaoke of heavy metal bands' inaudible songs whose vocalists / lead singers die of cocaine overdose or who commit suicide for living in constant torment from some irreversible chemical dependence!
I was there in person at that game when she sang. I remember it as a great moment and made me proud to be an American. Didn’t think she was doing it to show off herself but our country.
Great compilation. it can benefit from the inclusion of Al Jarreau's song "Blue Rondo ala Turk" for the staccato demands, scatting skills, and breath control. There's also Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire" for the continuous flow of lyrics making you wonder when to breathe. Then there's the all time difficult to learn song of Seal called "Kissed by a Rose". It has so many twists and timing / tempo changes. Please include them in the future. Thanks.
Love when the Darkness morphs into Thin Lizzy at 14:40 - If you really want to hear Steve Perry's dynamic range, check out Lay It Down, and Mother, Father. On those two he went otherworldly.
I loudly agree, "Emotions" by Mariah Carey is the most difficult song to sing and she does a gorgeous job with it! Though her whole career has been just brilliant and vocally phenomenal. She is the best for a reason!
Absolutely, that one always makes the hardest songs on broadway list. When I first got that CD in the early 90s, it used to make the hair raise on my arms. Raw power.
If you're going to include more than one entry per singer then each singer would need their own entire video for difficult songs to sing. Use your brain.

Say whatever you want about Michael Bolton but nobody can deny that he was blessed by a truly amazing range as e tenor.
One of my all time favorites. My grandma loved him bcz of "Georgia on my mind" Georgia was her name. They played it at her funeral. She was 90
Michael Bolton is an amazing singer but his range is A2 - C6. That's slightly more than 3 octaves and only slightly above average
@@robertomangani3788 LOVE your answer what do u think of Chris Cornell?
@@robertomangani3788 A2 - C6 is excellent range and is well above average. Many people can squeak out the highest note with crappy tone and go into vocal fry to claim they have "6 oCtAvEs oF rAnGe" but to actually sound good throughout your range is quite a feat. Not many people sound as good as Bolton does throughout their 3 octaves
Bobby Hatfield was truly amazing!
The most difficult song to cover is Michael Jackson's Earth Song. Many did but no one perfectly sings it like him. The song also gives a powerful message to the world.
The song is composed by Michael Jackson
@@RealMaga84 Yes, thank you !. I corrected my comment
He is the best❤and Earth song is my favorite song, not only by Michael, but in general❤❤❤
I am super impressed that you included Kate Bush in this list. 'Wuthering Heights' is brutal on the vocal cords but, when done by Bush, it's a beautiful song.
And to think she was 16 or 17 at the time of the recording of the song
(Can’t remember her exact age and I’m being lazy by not googling the answer)
My personal favorite Kate Bush song. The entire album, The Kick Inside, is her best work in my most humble of opinions.

So happy to see someone else who loves her!

Steve Perry's singing is unreal!! Love his voice!!
Me as well.
Steve Perry in his prime was so effortless in his ability to move from octave to octave that it is a very small group of vocalists performing today that can emulate it.
ME TOO! His voice is absolutely amazing!
The guy on agt this year sounds like him
I grew up with his voice.
I was lucky to see and hear them 3 times in the day. All three in the DC Metro area were just good gigs.
I'm 54 now, I like different music now and that's cool. I was really happy for 1 Escape and 2 Frontier PS. 😊 Just a kiss d then 😊

Bridge over trouble water ? And Unchain Melody? I didn't know it was so difficult to sing, but Elvis sings it so spectacularly. And the last one playing the piano at the same time. Good job King
So shocked they didn't mention his versions of either of these, masterful!
He has the best covers just kike Bridge over trouble Water and Unchained Melody ... The KIng

Heart’s earlier stuff, like Barracuda and Magic Man. Damn, she belts those notes out.
And Alone.
I can sing Magic Man. Love that song.

One of my favorite TH-cam videos is Heart performing Stairway to Heaven, live …. In front of Led Zeppelin with John Bonham’s son on drums. Bring tears to my eyes every time I watch it.
Crazy on you, as well. She can sang
As far as Whitney Houston songs go, it's hard to find one more technically demanding than "I Have Nothing", also from The Bodyguard.
Ppl forget how hard "I'm your baby tonight" and how hard the ending is. I tried and almost passed out. The breath control is stupid!
Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven - definitely should have been on this list
I give you one better - Bee Gees - Reaching Out (In terms of vocal range)
Perry is the voice of a generation.....Pure talent!
I haven't sounded that good since my 20's kudos to you bro
Agreed. She’s gone is so underated tbh
Geoff Tate IS "QUEENSRYCHE"!,,,,,,, Always was and always will be.
Steve Perry is my hero.... always 💜
Mariah Carey's mother was an opera singer (I love "My All")! Jennifer Holliday's "I'm Not Living Without You" will never be matched
#10 - In my mind, Art Garfunkel’s performance of Bridge over Troubled Water at the Concert in Central Park rates as one of the greatest live popular performances, ever.
Bill Withers Lovely Day, mainly due to the fact when he sings the word 'Day', he holds the note for about a 20 seconds without running out of breath.
My favorite song!
Bill Withers is constantly overlooked when discussing male singers with incredible range. I'm glad you mentioned him though. Not to mention the simple fact that I'm in absolute agreement with you.

No one can sing like him
Though y’all nailed the top 3 there is a Disturbing lack of Black male R&B here on this list.
You try singing Lately by Jodeci and see if you do need to clear your throat multiple timez and no Luther!?!
In addition a lot of Stones songs are hard to sing because of Micks unique tones
That’s not even the tip of the iceberg lol. Try singing Tevin Campbell “can we talk” or Jesse Powell “You.” It’s vocal suicide for a guy lol.
Why did you capitalize the word "disturbing"?
You could argue that most R&B songs are not all that hard to sing.
@@DavidRay_40 then why they charting so high here? Y’all will create the narrative right from the CRACK of your a-. Now guess why I capitalized that
James Ingram comes to mind.
Unbelievably thrilled you selected All By Myself as Celine's entry.
Agree although there are others I think are more difficult by Celine:
1. I surrender
2. Then you look at me
I can't agree more..I think, Mr. Paganini is the hardest of all

Unbreak my heart is just phenomenal. It should have been in the top 5.
"Butterfly" by Mariah Carey should have been included. I think even Mariah herself found it challenging to perform live back in the days, as it has only been sung live in full twice: on SNL and the David Letterman Show.
Very hard song
Difficult vocally and emotionally. That SNL performance will always be in my top 5 Mariah performances of all time.
I had to stop the video 1 minute in to go rewatch Toni Braxtons I break my heart…..just….wow. She so gorgeous and her voice made me tear up not to mention the topic of the song. We don’t have women like that comin in these days.
Unbreak my heart, not I break my heart
She was a beast!
"I Will Always Love You" was the first song that popped in my head when I saw the title of this video.
Best version I ever heard was Lady Gaga. Just fabulous

My favorite is “Feel So Different “. Now that song has some notes!!
My husband and his best friend sang classical stuff in a semi-professional men’s choir their entire lives…on holiday in Rodos they thought they could nail Nothing Compares 2 U during karaoke night -🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. That same night I went out and sang Talk It Over by Grayson Hugh and I nailed it 😊😊😊.
If you dare to go occidental! You can't skip Dimash Kudaibergen witch is considered to have one of the most wide ranges of all times. SOS is a song with a high level of difficulty, as he performs he's impeccable notes leave one breathless.
emotions its so complicated to sing, requires: powerfull belts, absurd whistl control, and much more, its just... 🤯🤯🤯
Freddie Mercury vocal range is so good
Freddie reminds me of Cindi Lauper, who's also noted for having an incredible 4-OCTAVE(!) range in her singing prime. For comparison, Freddie had full command of 3 whole octaves, absolutely mind-blowing!
Should have been under pressure
@@Sarappreciates freddie also had essentially 4, but mainly sang between 3
@@ripleyfry2107 I meant complete control.
@@Sarappreciates don't forget Mitch from Pentatonix (I don't know his last name, but I'm sure you know who I mean). His range is FIVE octaves!
Wind of Change by Scorpion 🦂 exceptional
Some of the songs mentioned are not that hard to sing, but it's the singers very distinct sound that makes it difficult to replicate.
by that logic, all songs arent hard to sing

@@red5robb1 Ehhh no?
Take on me... Beautiful... Meatloaf had so many perfect pitch songs! Xxx
What about Roy Orbison's "Crying"? So heartfelt and seemingly simple, but those top notes have inspired many other artists to cover it. No "showmanship" but pure talent, control and HEART! Singing at its best.
What a song? Simply love it
Its odd that we dont have any songs by the Bee Gees or Tina Turner. Can anyone sound like Barry Gibb?
😂
Michael Boltons “How am I supposed to live without you” should have been on this list, and somewhere up in the top 10 for sure. You try singing it!!!
I was about to say the same 💯 surprised they came up with this one here instead 🤦🏻♀️
To me Steve Perry’s best vocal performance is Faithfully….
I would have to agree with that one.
you are probably correct.
Anything Steve Perry!
My absolute fave song by him ❤️
Perry had a helluva voice, for sure.

Unchained melodies is really hard to master....Awesome songs!!
Part of the reason why it is hard to get it right with Crawling because he literally pours his experience with (and emotions about) traumatic events into his voice. That is on top of his vocal range, which allows him to go from sounding like an injured innocent to screaming like a demon out for blood.
Definitely “Bohemian Rhapsody”!
That operatic section was crazy!
That song is why Freddie is the goat
Nah! I have friends and even a Brother who have nailed that. Queen has way harder songs in their arsenal.
Anyone can sing Bohemian Rhapsody. And if they can't, just jack the volume up to the threshold of pain and keep singing anyway.
Child in time - Deep Purple
Even Gillan stopped singing it a very long time ago.
Love all these songs but every time I hear You Raise Me Up when he hits that chorus I get goosebumps!!!!! Who remembers it from that movie Fun Size with Victoria Justice??? Love it!!!

Agreed! Chris Cornell makes me cry, theres so much pain and power in his voice!
Yes why wasn't Layne Staley?!
Really amazing voices
Chris Cornell, sorely missed.
Also for Mariah, I vote for "My All".
Fighter is hard due to it being more rock, but I've attempted "Hurt" and it hurts to try to sing it, especially to emote properly
The hardest Christina song is definitely Mercy On Me.
@@aSUGAaddiction Fighter puts me to the same mind as Sweet Sacrifice by Evanescence - for some reason they're so much harder to sing.

At least they don't do
karaoke of heavy metal bands' inaudible songs whose vocalists / lead singers die of
cocaine overdose
or who commit suicide
for living in
constant torment
from some irreversible chemical dependence!
Your best choice was quite clearly Ian Gillan's vocals on Child in Time. Well done for spotting that one.
You forgot "Adagio" by Lara Fabian and "SOS" by Dimash Kudaibergen
Both are amazing.
Lara fabian je taime, Daniel balavoine version of sos, also patricia kaas quand Jimmy dit
Im so glad "go the distance" is on the list that's hands down my fav Disney song
Layla (Eric Clapton) and the night they drove old Dixie down (the band) are particularly hard to sing perfectly
# 7- Pat Benatar also had this song on one of her albums. Can't recall which one but hers gave me chills every time i heard it.
Love is a battlefield ?
I’m surprised not ONE Heart song was mentioned…Barracuda?? Alone??
Alone❤
Every garage band covered barracuda back in the day.
The title clearly states "Top 30" not "ALL OF THE"
26:08 the TH-cam auto generated chapter says “Bohemian Rap City” 💀
She's gone by steelheart & stranger by Dimash Qudaibergen
This I love - Axl Rose
Cemetery Gates - Phil Anselmo
Painkiller - Rob Halford
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
11:57 - Automatic thumbs-up for correctly using "heart-rending." Well done.
I can't wait for part 2, which should include Brad Delp, David Coverdale, and Robert Plant.
These all are better than Mercury.
"Take On Me" is just insane. It humbles guys.
Since Dimash nailed „the Diva Dance“ from 5th element, I guess there should be at least a shared first place 😉
Minnie Riperton - Expecting is harder than any song here
No.. Emotions is harder by FAR. Minnie can’t belt like Mariah, and Mariah’s emotions song is CONSTANT belting, and the key is VERY high in the song.
Whitney did the greatest national anthem in history
Preach!
Meatloaf's version is far better. He made it about the song NOT about showing off.
Lip syncing is an automatic disqualification IMO
I was there in person at that game when she sang. I remember it as a great moment and made me proud to be an American. Didn’t think she was doing it to show off herself but our country.
Try Jimi Hendrix
Annie Lennox, Linda Ronstadt ,Freddie Mercury, Aaron Neville. Each unique & unforgettable.
You had me at Streisand!
I loudly agree, "Emotions" by Mariah Carey is the most difficult song to sing and she does a gorgeous job with it! Though her whole career has been just brilliant and vocally phenomenal. She is the best for a reason!
I totally agree!!
Agree
Dimash is better.
@@Hanna-yv1lgDimash can’t even support his 5th octave notes💀
I wonder which song Mariah would say is her most difficult 🤔 I’m not sure I’ve heard that from her!
Phantom of the Opera sung by Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman
Phantom of the Opera Floor Jansen and Henk Poort
I'm not a fan of POTO. At all.
Absolutely, that one always makes the hardest songs on broadway list. When I first got that CD in the early 90s, it used to make the hair raise on my arms. Raw power.
Sarah Brightman - Think of Me.
Amazing performance.
Anything by Sarah Brightman deserves to be mentioned.
The fact that Celine Dion's 'Its all coming back to me' and Whitney's 'I have nothing' is not here is disrespectful. 🤦🏻♀️
Facts
They were probably picking only 1 track from each singer/group. No disrespect intended.
@@markdorrough5324 ok.
FR!
If you're going to include more than one entry per singer then each singer would need their own entire video for difficult songs to sing. Use your brain.
Awesome.......I think you have to add: Tetê Espíndola - Escrito nas Estrelas from Brazil
