I feel the same! :D Like, I'm no expert in music terminology, much less in English, but I feel like the main "melody", the "refrain" that gets repeated cyclically, has some feeling of nostalgia around it, as if it was part of some classic videogame tune, like a peaceful Pokémon city theme. I don't know if he was trying to evoke this type of feeling, but that's how I perceived it. A piece of music that makes me smile and chill :)
Hey Carlos! I'm 16 and from France, I've been listening to your VGM covers since the one you did of Godot's theme from ace attorney! I was quite sad to see you go but oh man this album has blown away my expectations!! Especially this particular song here. I hadn't listened to it before, so for me it was like an entirely new song! And I really fell in love with it, I even made my mother listen to it and she liked it a lot :) It's so calm and beautiful, I'm really grateful and wanted to say thanks for this amazing album, and I'm excited to see more songs from you in the future!
Between this and Forward, the best thing I believe is how much both of these tunes grew since your initial versions! They feel completely new and fresh with all the additions and expanding to make it so much bigger. It’s inspiring what you can do to an “old” composition to make it feel new!
This might be my favorite off of the album with that brass moment. Gives me chills every single time. What a beautiful orchestration to see all come together 😭
I’m such a sucker for strings in jazz and that string writing is spectacular! You must’ve been so excited to have access to a live string section for this!
I'm glad my high school band teacher and one of his former students told me about this channel 3-4 years ago cuz your music is absolutely incredible. I've been watching this channel ever since.
This song is meant to describe the flow of time and I didn't even realise that i had been listening to this for about 2 hours after I put it on loop, it had felt like minutes! Carlos, you made absolute bangers throughout your journey and I love every second of not just this piece, but almost EVERY single song you've ever made. Thanks a lot for pumping these beautiful songs out, my man.
This one gives me the story of walking through a busy day, finally getting a break and resetting before hitting your groove and focusing, then finally going home. It's got such a full tone, and I'm always get blown away whenever you pull out the trumpet. Thank you!
I remember listening to the first upload of this song over and over again. It’s been a while since i’ve last heard it, and this really took me back. For me it’s one of those songs that bring back memories of a particular time. Thank you so much for uploading this
I've been so excited for the video of this one to come out! It feels like a much more full version of the original with the brass and strings added, and the electric guitar works so well playing the main motif. The ending with the acoustic piano rather than the MIDI also is so nice to listen to and makes an already great conclusion even better! It's probably my favorite ending of all the songs in the album!
I am mesmerized by the songs in this album! This song makes me think of someone looking back on their life after returning home from a long, perilous journey. The steady flow of the piano is a great touch!
I can 100% get behind the explanation you gave in the description! I have always loved writing pieces with a single-note ostinato, and I think that piano ticking away on that Bb (LOVE how it transitions up a half-step to a B through a few key changes in the end!) adds something unique for the listener to grasp onto. That brass chorale in the middle was absolutely beautiful - it was thrilling to hear the rest of the orchestra pause for a moment apart from that piano. And then in the ending with that final climax in E major with the electric guitar solo, the brass chords returning, the strings - it all had built to this fabulous earned moment of wonder and color, and I absolutely was getting goosebumps listening to it! Loving hearing this album and your thoughts on your compositions in the description - super inspiring as well for me!
I think this is the right time to comment this. In my opinion, this is your Magnum Opus in terms of Storytelling through instrumental pieces. The composition is so refined, you thought of every single little detail; it just feels so compact like every bit is a piece of a whole puzzle. Congratulations, because this rearrangement reflects how much you've grown as a musician in the past years, and I can say without shame that it brought a tear to my eye LOL
@@neeha9449 Funny you say that.. as Jazz fans we tend to listen to already masterful Musicians, or even dead ones xD.. however some of us have seen Carlos (Insaneintherain) since his early years, and have truly acknowledge his growth
The diversity of your proficiency is tremendous, and something that I aspire to, perhaps even more than your ability to compose a damn good tune. Thanks.
This is crazy to me, because I've listened to the 2019 version a lot. I often have your music on loop when I'm doing things, and it's definitely weird for my brain to be like: Wait, how can this be a brand new video, I've heard this for ages? As it goes on more, you can hear the differences, and I do think this one feels more grand. May you continue to make more songs in the future, and find continued success!
I hurt my knee while I was listening to this but kept dancing around because of how happy I was. Watching you grow was such a privilege. You do good work, Carlos. Cheers man
I… was not expecting a remake of my favorite original song you’ve made… dear god, absolutely stunned Carlos. Truly put the insane in the rain!!!!!!!!!!
Man does this sound incredible! Absolutely beautiful, It’s so cool to see how much you’ve really grown in both the musical and visual department since some of those old jazz covers. I’m definitely going to buy the album!
This is the song that made me start writing music, and this new version is absolutely beautiful. You continue to be an inspiration to me, thank you for your music
this was absolutely gorgeous, this is a close second if not my favorite tune from you man! everything was stellar, it brought tears to my eye numerous times
I'm in absolute aww with this song. I've been vibing to this one for a bit on the digital album and it sounds so good. Especially the key change where the tenor comes back in with the melody
Holy... I can't count how many times I've listened to this from the original version since it was first released. Even till now, I still listen to that daily. Thank you for this new version Carlos!
THE DIMINUENDO IN THIS VERSION IS BREATHTAKIN!!!! It really makes me feel like I'm moving across a threshhold, or travelling somewhere. Congrats on this wonderful album!!!
Carlos, your arrangements are just as good as the worlds best... Your on the same level as Mozart and Beethoven for me. I don't mean that lightly. Your music has healed me. I don't know how to put it in a way anyone can understand, but your music truly has healed my soul. Thank you so much. It's music like yours that can bring me out of my sadness and fill me with Joy again.♫♪ I hope you know how important that is, so thank you thank you thank you.
This song is so fitting for an ending for a coming-of-age film / credits scene! There's so much joy and optimism in the piece, yet it feels earned, as if a long struggle had finally come to a close and though everybody is happy, they will never forget the journey that changed them. Cheesy analysis, I know, but this piece is putting some strong emotional resonance / imagery in my head.
Gosh, this song relaxes while bursting with life energy at the same time. And the brass section at 03:29 is so beautiful ohmygod ;_; i love soft, gentle brass, what a reverent sound... (also I remember seeing vids when you started learning trumpet and horn, you got GOOD damn)
carlos your descriptions could never be pedantic i could read a whole book about your thoughts behind your songs and arrangements 😂. as someone who’s been following since flow was originally released i’ve always felt very emotionally drawn to the song but it’s insane how much better this rearrangement is compared to the original the new colors especially in the now brass choir is fantastic! i’m never left unsatisfied, keep it up ❤
I absolutely love reading your descriptions for your pieces! It's nice reading your intentions behind it just because it really helps inform my enjoyment of your music
I absolutely love this! My marching band’s show this season is called Ebb and Flow: A river story, so when I first saw the title I thought of it. Thank you
Yo I fricking love this song it gives suck a anime Instrumental vibe like it’s so good! Love your music Carlos and jazz isn’t my favorite but this! Man it’s amazing keep at it dude!
I love your original compositions i hope you make more of them, ever since your first release of this song this has been my favorite it always makes me tear up of how beautiful it is.
All I’m saying is if this was an ending theme for a game people would be losing their minds. Not to discount the quality of the music aside from a video game context, it completely rocks!
It's so full! I always loved the melody and the...Flow...of the piece (I'm so sorry but it really was the most fitting word). But this arrangement has a depth of sound and instrumentation that can't be done with saxophones alone, or at least without like 100 of them. Absolutely fantastic work.
This is amazing. The original Flow was my favorite original song of yours for a while before Ubuntu took its place a couple weeks ago… And then fast forward a couple of weeks, and you made Flow my favorite again. Fantastic work.
Classic vibes on this one. Something that you'd hear at the end of the film as the credits roll; that's just how I see this piece. Beautiful arrangement, Carlos! 🎷💧🎶
Your clarinet sound has improved so much ! Maybe it's only a personal taste but it's less laid back in a saxophone kind of way. Great work on the album!
Man, you are killing it with all the music in this album! So happy to see you succeeding beyond video game jazz covers!
Thanks so much :D
Yeah, this is my favorite. Love this melody - it feels timeless, like it’s always been there and you happened to pluck it out of the sky.
This song is meant to describe the flow of time and I didn't even realise that i had been listening to this for about 2 hours after I put it on loop, it had felt like minutes!

The french horn in the thumbnail got me in the door. The great rendition of the last version got me to stay.

This song is a journey. Benefitted immensely from the expanded arrangement, and I'm so happy. 10/10

This is my favorite track on the album, that guitar solo you added was ethereal, one of the best I’ve ever heard!
OMG that guitar tone is mind blowing!
I can’t unhear the “Sorry” reference in Josh’s solo 😭
I’m never gonna live that one down am I 😅
He has done it people, carlos can now be his own brass quintet
French horn! You’ve finally gotten to my favorite instrument! 😊

Happy to hear this beauty again. The first time I heard this years ago , I really wished that you made more original compositions
This is the best music in the album, and a true piece of art. It is beautiful from beginning to end, thank you, insaneintherain.

So smooth. One might say this flow is quite even.
I was hoping you were gonna remaster this 1. this 1 was my personal favorite
Man. The covers were awesome, but this album... wow! Keep the great work. :)
That is gorgeous! The video adds so much life to the already beautiful piece.

This is one of my faves on the album for sure!!
Beautiful. Another great song Carlos. I love the layering especially in the last section.
Great Job Mr. Eiene. I've been meaning to check the new album. Did not disappoint. You're a huge inspiration for me.
Classic vibes on this one. Something that you'd hear at the end of the film as the credits roll; that's just how I see this piece. Beautiful arrangement, Carlos! 🎷💧🎶

This song is so good it motivated me to clean my apartment
BEAUTIFUL!
Loving this!!
This hit me on autoplay and I thought it was a Deltarune song I had missed
I'm feeling the flow rn and it's awesome!
Why is this one so quiet? I love, love these covers!
Not for me to be confused with "Flow" from Endwalker 🤣 Amazing job Carlos 👏
Your clarinet sound has improved so much ! Maybe it's only a personal taste but it's less laid back in a saxophone kind of way. Great work on the album!
