    I really like the fall of the Christie Craw. Kind of looked like a craw with the claws raised up!

  • @jasondetreich8331

    Cowboy looks the best. Even had action on the fall. You get what you pay for sometimes. Cool video. I know which one to buy now 👍🎣🎣🎣

    Too bad you didn't see the Rage Craw spinning. The hook wasn't lined up with the bait. That caused the claw to lock up. I've used several of those craws, and the best action I've seen is the Rage Craw.

    I fish mostly ponds and the Christie craw with a 1/8 or 1/4 oz bullet weight produces bass for me. The body is thick so I use an extra wide gap offset worm hook #4 or #5 to punch through the body for a good hook set. Thanks for posting this video.

      Honestly, Yum makes some GREAT baits. The Dinger and Christie Craw are my two favorites. I do also like the Spine Craw, but I wouldnt really texas rig that one too much.

    Damnit these baits are not topwater or not are they for top water fishing so this test sucks ass damnit.....

    • @thestime
      @thestime 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'm kinda with you on that one. On a couple of them (like the Zoom speed craw) the claws do not move much, if at all on a slow crawl or hop. I don't like spending a ton of money but the Yamamoto cowboy's appendages are moving all the time. Looks more like a creature than a craw but if it works who cares. It was still nice seeing them in comparison though. Take care!

    Even though this video is 5 years old.. I have come back to watch it a few times when thinking about changing up my craws for trailers and Texas rigs. The Christie Craw has definitely found a place in my line up because of this video. Thank you!

    Todd, these pool test vids are brilliant! Keep it up Baw! I still like the Zoom Z Craw. Those little ribs on the side give it better resistance on retrieve and I'm sure move more water too. Not to mention, it more closely resembles the shape of a small crab skirting across the surface. Reds like!

  • @doggmansnapperdude3405
    @doggmansnapperdude3405 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Crazy legs chigger craw has better action than the other it vibrates going thru the water and the antenna’s whirl around as well and with any powerbait the smell is unmatched except now I’m trying the GOOGAN baits and the smell on those is pretty potent so it may take over my power bait Arsenal

    I'd say maybe 2% of all fishermen fish a plastic craw on the surface lol. And the test is 'which craw will drive fish nuts'? What does the price have to do with that?

    Hey Marsh Man (and camera man): Thanks for this analysis! Just bought my first pack of Rage Craws (I don't intend to use it weightless on the surface). I'm going to swim them fast on a pegged 3/16oz bullet weight and 3/0 EWG.

      Check out some of my videos. I use the Rage Craw watermelon/red with a 4/0 ewg heavy wire, 1/8 oz bullet unpegged, on 15lbs fluoro and get tons of 2-4 lbs largemouth bass on clear water.

      It would, but understandably, viewers would doubt my objectivity. I can tell you this: After watching it in the pool, I'm not likely to fish it less.

  • @pdubel297
    @pdubel297 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In Europe I made the experience that less action can make the difference in a positive way, so disturbance isn’t everything. I guess that might be the case for your bass as well.

    • @joestrummer9507
      @joestrummer9507 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely isn't, hence the saying let the bass tell you what they want; at any given time mix-up/change size, color, shape, profile, action, and cadence. ALL of these baits will catch fish, impossible to say which one will catch more or bigger.

    And Also The Rage Craw Yes it Catches a Lot Of Fish BUT a lot Of The Time You Might Only Get 1 or 2 Fish From One Bait Because They Designed The Claws To Brake Of Easy They Fly Off a Lot When a Bass Jumps and Throws its Head i Have Even Had Both Claws Fly Off

    Crazy thing is I caught a nice 22 inch redfish on the MRGO kayaking out of Campos on the Berkley craw. I was retreating it with a 1/8 oz. Slip weight on a fusion ewg hook. Presentation while retrieving was nice for top water. Caught the attention of a redfish while retrieving from deeper to shallower waters.

    As others have said, you simply do the BEST pool tests. I used your jerk bait video to catch my PB bass on the Rapala Ripstop. Have you done a swimbait test yet? Cool comparison. Don’t know anyone that swims a craw style bait on the surface but to each his own. I personally like the Zoom Speed Craw for pitching and punching here in Fla. Also the Z-Craw is another good one. I can go through some plastic craws if the bite is on and the Zoom baits are much more affordable. Best regards. 👍🏻👍🏻

    These pool demos are why I sub to your channel. Nobody does them better than y'all do. I'd like to see y'all do this with toads and rate them on sound instead of fall. I'd love to have a pool to test baits. Do both of y'all rate the baits and decide an average?
