    When a child is sick, you’d think the parent would want them to stay home and rest to get better, not consider them an inconvenience. Most schools have a policy where if they have a fever or diarrhea, they need to be fever and diarrhea-free for 24 hrs before returning, which parents agree to when they register at the school .

    1- There are adults that are 3'9" shorter than that 4'9". They have special seatbelts adjustors for short people so I would say if your 12 yr old doesnt want a booster get them a seatbelt adjustor. Also using a flat iron to remove a hairband destroys the hairband. I dint have that kind of money to waste. You can gently remove a hairband without pulling.

    • @Serena-or7sl
      @Serena-or7sl ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also, normal hairband do not get removed with heat only. This "trick" is only for the "all rubber" elastics, which should not be used anyway (they break too easily and damage the hair too easily)

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 ปีที่แล้ว

      Breaking the hairband is such a waste. Plus, some melted bits may stick to your hair or the heating element. Inhaling the fumes of burnt rubber is bad. [BTW, your 1st sentence led to this calc: 4'9" - 3'9" = 1' . By lack of a comma, you created 1-foot adults.]

    as a hairstylist I never recommend bleaching your hair at home. box bleach is made with the strongest developer because its supposed to be a "one size fits all", which is never the case with hair. at the salon you will get a formula that was calculated for your specific hair type and porosity. not only that but its a chemical. professionals get specific training to safely handle them. if you aren't trained you can: burn off your hair, give yourself a chemical burn, or you could blind yourself. also you're more likely to be patchy and orange if you do it yourself.

    Shouldn’t most of these be common sense? Like having your child wear a helmet on while riding a bicycle and don’t send your kid to school sick? Even the booster seat one. Like c’mon people 🙄

      I don’t see kids wearing helmets in our suburb. As a pediatrician she sees plenty of preventable situations so I’m glad she shared the tip. Kids these days are also using electrical scooters and hoverboards daily.

      @@eightyninetreasure I guess depending on when you live and the traffic volume, a parent can make their own decision on whether or not their kid should wear a helmet. A kid can also crash into a stationary object like a mailbox and crack their skull open. So idk as a kid if I was on a scooter, bicycle or rollerblading, I always had the biggest helmet on the block.

      I prefer direct spraying onto the surface to be cleaned. This soaks the target. I use the towel to block the spray from going past the target area. If I clean a large enough area, the towel gets saturated, so that is enough to clean other areas without more spraying; if I need a little bit more, I can spray the towel. Also, squeezing the trigger very slowly can cause the cleaner to come out in drops; this is useful for small spot treatment.

    That pediatrician seemed a bit over cautious. I grew up in a time where no one wore seatbelts in cars and kids got to wonder all over the neighborhood unsupervised. I have NEVER worn a bicycle helmet. EVER! I can't imagine the wind not running through my hair as a child. Naturally I have fallen off of my bike a lot of times. One time even into my bff's mom's roses. Thorns sticking into my skin was so painful. No one wore a helmet. I don't think there were affordable helmets back then either. PLUS I have been the passenger on a bicycle on the handlebars, seat, middle bar, and I have been the person standing and pedaling while my friend sat on the seat. No one ever fell off a bike where their head hit the pavement. You just knew how to recover from a fall. Skinned up knees and elbows were signs of a good day outside w/friends. >> I am not even going to touch that booster seat scenario. A 12 y/o in a booster? There are girls starting their period @ 10 and you want them to sit in a seat they could actually fill with a baby? I don't think so.

      Thermal energy? I guess termperature is a measure of the average motion of the molecules... but also... this is more for gasses, yes? Idk when we start talking liquid molecules moving past liquids I believe it's more lumped into enthalpy and useful energy etc. not kinetic unless you're doing a PhD in like physics or hydrolics (or maybe around some plasmas or subatomic particles?)...

      Also regarding critical micellar concentration and surfave energy, part of me leans toward sense that temperatures of waters aren't super impactful... nor the hardness of the water you're using... but maybe it could depend on the surfactant you're using.

    • @oahuhawaii2141
      @oahuhawaii2141 ปีที่แล้ว

      She's def not a physics or chemistry major. But perhaps blasting with hot water creates more bubbles by stirring up the surfactant, water, and air mixture. We know reaction rates are higher with higher temperatures. I use warm water to rinse; nozzle setting is for a weak output so as to pour water, not spray.
