@@zaegunna183 He went to a High school called. Homestead Senior High School. in Homestead Florida. I was Friends with him. That's besides the point. He was always a quiet kid Didn't have much Growing up he was Poor like me. didn't talk much either. I met him my freshman year of 2009 . I had a class science class with him. the teacher's name was Mr sedam and his wife worked in the library at the same school. Whenever we had a chance to talk he always spoke about getting rich or dying by shooting himself because he didn't like life so much. As time went on he got into Fights with older people, he would pick fights with kids from other schools and stab them with a Knife he made from a copper pipe. I remember my 11th Grade year when he meet up with some Mexican gang bangers and challenge them to a game of Russian Roulette i Talked to him about how much life was worth living poor or rich. he put the gun in my mouth and told me to leave or I'll be going to the Grave with him. a couple of days went by I heard he was in the hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. I cried for a moment I thought he died... mysteriously miraculously magically he was alive. I saw him in the Hospital and at school. he said something about Mexico and dropped out of high school.... last i heard about him. He lives Down the street from that neighborhood across Southland Mall. Let's see if you can find him... his name is . Alen .

Living here in Miami is like living in another dimension. I grew up around that area. Back when cutler bay was called cutler ridge. And that complex cutler manor was always on fire. Police and helicopters always there. There is two gas stations down that road the valero and a citgo i think. And walking to go to the gas station or driving, me and my friends would always get pulled over. Detectives and cops popping up out of that complex and following us. In order to have a chance at "upward mobility" and getting out of the projects it starts with education and our schools down here lack funding/resources that are needed to educate and uplift young kids from the projects. We're all poor and fall into the lifestyle that we see that makes fast money, theres no time to establish a career when youre hungry today.

I once had this guy from the hood trying to rent from me. He gives me his “sad” story of how he is trying to get out of the hood and make something out of his life, but no one wants to give him a chance. The guy didn’t have a credit record or rent record, but try and give him a chance because “gotta help a nigga to get out of the hood, right?”
The house was next to mine so that we would be neighbors. The first two months were mostly uneventful. I did notice that little by little, he was having more and more friends come over. At first, they were coming once a week, then twice a week, then three times a week. By the end of the first two months, he had people in the house every day and some people sleeping. I'm not talking about 1 friend, I'm talking about 2-5 friends every day.
By the end of the first three months., the nigga had a mini version of what you guys are seen in those videos. "A mini hood". Random people were coming and going every day, and you could smell the weed even from my house, people sitting around the house doing “nothing.”
I try to give this nigga an opportunity to make it out of the hood, but the fuker ends up bringing the “hood” with him. He stops paying rent and refuses to leave halfway trou the lease. I had to evict him.
Before, he didn’t have a credit record or rent history, so at least he had the benefit of the doubt. If early was hard for him to get someone to rent him, now it will be even more challenging with an eviction on his credit.
I learned my lesson from that. 1) Never try to do “something nice” for some random fucker. 2) never rent to a nigga from the hood because many of them will bring the hood with them.
Ps; before you even try to call me racist, I’m not talking about not renting to black people. I’m talking about not renting to niggas from the hood. There is a difference there.

@@darkalchemist32 I will tell you this. Recently went back to Miami with my kids and man it’s not the same. Took them to see family we haven’t seen in almost 8 years in Carol City. Nothing but Cubans. They was there in the 80s and 90s but at least it’s was mixed with black and some Haitian families even. Change happens but it was heartbreaking to see. Never did the beaches growing up, but Opa Locka, Carol City and Overtown was a special place. Poor, sometimes crazy, but it was our communities.

Y’all need to stop going back to Florida. Floridians are soo lazy and gullible at times. Y’all in fear that there’s nothing more out there. I noticed the least successful people or famous people rarely come from Florida because it’s the mindsets of being comfortable and staying in that state. It’s a mess. It’s a nice place only if you have the money and wealthy background. Any race can live anywhere they want stop this what race where and this. Florida is a rough state to grow up in if you don’t come from riches. People think we are always at beaches turning up and living our best lives there. That’s not truth.

Gould''s is about 45 minutes south on i-95 from me. Gould's and West Perrine, 2 South Miami hoods.
Thing about South FLA like Palm Beach county(Boca, Delray, Palm Beach), Broward county (greater fort Lauderdale) and Dade county (greater Miami), there are patches of hoods all throughout. So if you're driving from the beach out west to your home, chances are you're going to be driving through some Hood. Like Sunrise boulevard in fort Lauderdale. One of the main roads going east to west all the way from the beach out west to the city of Sunrise is Sunrise boulevard, whether you take Oakland Park boulevard (which is the next main road north of sunrise) to get to the beach or Broward boulevard (which is the next main road South of Sunrise) to get to the beach, you're going to be driving through the hood If you take Oakland park, you'll be driving through lauderhill, if you go up to commercial boulevard and take that road East to the beach you'll end up driving through Lauderdale lakes, if you take Sunrise boulevard you'll end up driving through sistrunk but not really because as long as you stay on Sunrise you're okay. But you don't want to be making a right anywhere while you're on Sunrise boulevard cuz that places you between Sunrise boulevard and Broward boulevard which is the heart of a hood called Sistrunk, a neighborhood you want to avoid if you're not known around there.
Point is, here in Broward county which is just above Miam Dade county, it's all main roads going east and west and north and south. You stay on the main roads and you're okay... But down in Miami, roads get real complicated and the hoods in Miami are far scarier than anything going on in Broward or greater fort Lauderdale. We've got some bad hoods like Sistrunk (which isn't so bad anymore) but then you got pompano (Collier city) which is pretty rough and unwelcoming, and some parts of lauderhill like Deepside n Shallowside all mixed in with the nice neighborhoods. You just have to cross one road and boom you're there... But like I said the main roads are just north and south and east and west, super simple to avoid trouble. I'm 42 and been living here 25 years and driven through some real harsh environments and never even had the slightest of altercations.
But when you go down to Miami-Dade county, Liberty City, Carol City, Overtown, Gould's, West Perrine, and the Coconut Grove ghettos, you need to know where you're going. Especially at night time. They do not play down there. Where do you think they film the show "The first 48". Right in Miami, Liberty City for the most part. Go on TH-cam and check out pork and beans projects Liberty City. If you're interested in this kind of stuff. They call it "the beans"
Just like if you're living in DC then you've got anacostia which is real bad, but it's way out the way, and you won't find it unless you go looking for it. Just like certain parts of South side Chicago. You could live in Chicago all your life and never even see it. But down here these hoods are all pockets all throughout the little cities and suburbs, so you really need to know your way around or have someone with you that does, cuz GPS doesn't factor in the likelyhood that your going to get carjacked when directing you to a destination.
One thing I can say is even though people will disagree, there really is no bloods and crips and colors and sets representing their neighborhoods like in Cali, Philly, Chicago or other places.
But just like anywhere there are gangs, and here we got the Zoe Pound Haitian gang, up in lake Worth and West Palm Beach, just north of dade and Broward county. Easily the most dangerous and vicious gang in all of Florida.
Yes Palm Beach is full of the super rich, and it's full of multi-million dollar mansions and yachts, golf courses and Mara Lago where Donald Trump hangs out. But you just got to cross over one road and the scenery changes quick and you could find yourself right in Zo pound territory. Somewhere you do not want to be.
So that's the one main difference between South Florida and most of the ghettos and tough hoods throughout the US. There's really no avoiding them when you're living here. Unless you only drive within 2-3 square miles area around your home at all times.
But like I said, it's all main roads, super smooth pavement, no potholes anywhere, roads are 5-6 Lanes wide going either way with a median in the middle so you've got like 12 Lanes... It's a pleasure to drive in Broward county and surrounding areas. Miami is a whole different story and has gridlocked traffic and not somewhere I'd want to live in general.
