I have the previous generation G63, the one with solid front axle. I do agree with your assessment about the G-Wagon - there's definitely nothing like it on the road anymore. Maybe the GX550/Land Cruiser will come close but it doesn't make as much power, nor having that special view.
Usually I have the vehicle for 5-7 days before filming. I also have a "day in the life" video with a better picture of what it's like to live with one. That's coming out Wednesday.

The G63 swings a little too heavy to on-road focus for me - I like the G550's bridging of on and off-road talents while still embracing the spectacular 4.0 TT V8

The Rover is more comfortable and more luxurious, but the G feels much more special. I'd be willing to give up a little comfort for the G's cool.
