Eric Clapton is the only guitarist that never plays any "useless" note to "show off" like most of guitarists do. Every note he plays has a feeling and it's so clean. He doesnt do those cliche licks 99% of the guitarists do . You can't predict what he's gonna play next!
I think he played the wrong note on the starting bend of the crossroads 2010 I shot the sheriff solo, but he still managed to pull out a great one. He is still god!
your comment was inspirational it pulled out of the piss and crap I was in I just needed one more little tug one little pull and pop like the cork or top of a champagne bottle I have tears in my eyes replying to your comment and Clapton solo the words are true it ok it all worked out I'm free and yes wow 👌 thank you for your comment to this video..Roland J Gutierrez from Magdalena New Mexico USA 🇺🇸 😊
Clapton, Gilmour, SRV… gosh. Too many Legends! This is one of my favorite solos ever. Glad to know you're from Brazil, mate. Glad to know that some people have a very nice musical taste.
For his work and age I could say, for sure, one of the most hard work man in business. He is virtuoso, and old wine quality aging superstar, and also very humble - in many occasions he honor SRV, and that tells he is realy in love in music, in guitar. He enjoys playing, he is doing for joy, for art, he is not hostage of vanity. Great man, great player, simple as that.
not a patch on 2004 crossroads festival, which I regard as the zenith (not just for Clapton, but for everyone) But a mighty fine showing from my favourite guitarists.
Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums. I saw him with Clapton and Winwood in 2009 and even then I thought he was fantastic. The way he builds behind Clapton here complements Clapton's own architectural style perfectly.
Clapton loves Japan and Japan loves Eric. He has been there many times. There are people in high places in their government that get Clapton to play, they have given him awards and treat him like a King, and his family as well.
Not even close. IMO the best version of this song is the 2004 crossroads guitar festival right down to the solo. Clapton was channeling some serious long lost friends on that one! 😉👌👍
So true Clapton is the instrument that makes that chunk of wood sing all he has to do is pick up the guitar and what he hears in his being his voice comes out threw amplification of his amp and guitar if the amp and guitar are on the stage on there stand or what ever place of set up , will just stay there not making or producing any sound just there but it's Clapton as soon as he straps on and turns on those macanical switches he does what he does best with the amp and guitar is virtuoso at it finest..Roland J Gutierrez from Magdalena New Mexico USA 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 ..

And also David Gilmour and Buddy Guy... these two and Clapton are fantastic.
Example of the licks you speak of? Or useless notes that show off?
WHAT! He used to be like that but WAY OVERPLAYS in his old age.
He got taste.
Right on
A true genuine musician no ear or nose S%#$, no tattoos and no ridicules outfits just pure brilliant performance from the best guitar player ever.
Usually those things are proof of lack of talent to bring more attention, true legends dont need this
@@yazidknopfler8640Such a great comment👍
piercings, tattoos, and flashy outfits don't take away from the genius of an artist or a guitar player.
I've listened to Clapton live, I've seen Clapton live...he NEVER plays a wrong note. His improv is cleaner than most guitarist's studio recordings.
That's it is. This like studio recordings.
I’m sure some of it is made up by I bet the chunk of this solo is well rehearsed.
I think he played the wrong note on the starting bend of the crossroads 2010 I shot the sheriff solo, but he still managed to pull out a great one. He is still god!
Indeed never theres solo like what he did...
@@joaco190 Eric Clapton is best guitariste in the world we love him so much but he isn't a "god"
Talk about therapeutic. This music makes everything feel like it's going to be ok. And it will. WOW. The performance is heavenly.
Right. What a well-organized solo.
Damn, guy from the past, you are sooo right. Especially now.

Holy ****! Unbelievable JAM! PERFECTLY EXECUTED! I didn't know Mr Clapton could carry a tune like this. My God that was Great!!
i swear his guitar just sings... and i can not believe how crisp every note is. It's unreal!!!
this may the best guitar solo ever recorded…EC is amazing
Thank you! I agree.
You should listen to the recorded jam sessions between him and duane allman in 1970. They're amazing as well
I prefer the solo on the 2010 crossroads version of i shot the sheriff...fire
Check out Still got the blues solo by Gary Moore
It's not even the best one of this tour, try looking up Saitama 2009 (22nd Feb)
Saw slow hand last September in Nashville. He still has it. Been listening since the 70's. He can keep a solo going forever.......
Questo assolo é una cosa inspiegabile e la sensazione che mi trasmette è paradisiaca ....l'avrò guardato milioni di volte!!!
Hello alltogether.I have no any questions. Greatful Eric.
Absolutely superb. Magical guitar solo. CLAPTON IS GOD!!!!!!!
he is!
2:46 - 2:56 you can actually hear his soul come out of that guitar - wow
one of the best thing i have ever seen in my life
Absolutely
One of the best solos I've ever heard in my life, thanks for the video! Regards from Brazil 🇧🇷
Vitor Lange
, if you think this is good then you should listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, not even close!

The Man that made me to Pick up the Guitar and Mayer made me carry it all the way to this day.
That’s a beautiful strat
Regarding EC,
Any solo, any strum, any riff, any hum, Any pick, trick or line,
Sends shivers down the spine.

Crossroads 2004 and also Clapton at RAH 2015
the 2004 crossroads solo is my favourite Clapton solo
nah the 2010 one
This is one of the best performances ever.
Clapton is a Wizard on the Guitar! That shiit is magical. Such passion and emotion emitting from those notes!
Clapton got better with age so did his tone hes clearly better here than in the 1960s can the same be said about jimmy page hardly
I agree that Clapton really gave the music unblievable soul, you can't help but get lost listening to it !!!
Page is not in the same Stratosphere as Clapton.
Eric is simply god, there is no explanation on the face of the earth to describe this man
Jimmy page is his prime is untouchable nevertheless.
Eric Clapton is one of the best. Love you

This guy is fantastic.
Really a very good version of the "Sheriff" - solo. It remembers me in parts to the legendary soli of Crossroads in California 68.
This is simply amazing stuff you do! I love te remixes. Some tracks really benefit from the live feel. Keep up this awesome work.
Looks so simple in comparison to the new guitar heroes but so great expression of soul !!!! An incredible sound ! That's what I love !!!
Dude you haven't heard Crossroads 2004 version as far as I can see. Go check it out, a true masterpiece
I agree but this one is so different ! Really calm and smooth :P
Colonel Kurtz the ARH reunion of cream?
this one is smoother while the crossroads 2004 one is wilder lol
I also like the crossroads 2010 version
JV Pascual check his version from the msg in 2004 it's incredible
@@slowhand8301 can you send the link to it?
Clapton always seems to reinvent his songs every live set, to make them sound new. He's amazingly creative.
Drummer is impressive
indeed
I just don't UNDERSTAND how he able to DO that. It sounds like no one else, but it is still 'just' a guitar.
My guitar gently weeps better displays "sounds like no one else" or a lot of songs when Clapton was with Cream.
Dùbhghlas MacDùbhghlas Thanks. I will look those up.
I love Clapton.
Yes right
Still the best in 2023! 🎸
Magic performance. Thank you Mr Torsay. And very well done the band.
Nice video. Thanks Mo.
Wow! So melodic and you can feel every note!
There is no word to express that. So good.
+Nguyen Dennis I agree. I recommend to watch the full set of this day.

can´t help it. Keep coming back to this ultimate musicianship of Mr Clapton, or God as someone used to call him;) not without understandable reason:)
I agree with you
This is best
And 2009/5/23 ver. also good
pppparaiso Thank you.
the best guitar solo i've ever heard, and trust me, i listened to a lot of masterpieces

A solo that talks by itself!
Just gave me goosebumps listening and watching this for the first time. Props to the guy on drums, he and Clapton fucking kill it at the end!
Abe Laboriel. Usually plays with McCartney
for some reason this is my personal favorite solo of his for this song!
so great make my tear drop
I saw him in Berlin in 91. This was his most memorable solo.
Génial ce Génie Merci Éric

Living Legend!
Wooow one of the best solos I've ever heard! The sound of that strat is fKing perfect!!!
To the most illustrious Mr. Clapton to call him God is little ... Mother of beautiful love ...
Touch, feel and emotion is what sets him apart from other guitarists.
One that happened 3 days before (22nd feb, 2009) in Saitama is even better, look it up. :))
Clapton is a genius.
Much respect sir
They say the soul weighs 21 grams.. if that's the case..
Clapton's soul weighs 42.
a fairy tale in music. Sumptuous!
It just flows
I prefer the 2004 Crossroads version, but this one is quite nice too.
Not a single bum note. Give it up to the legend 🙌
he doesn't learn to play the guitar, he's learning the guitar how to play!

And the audience is going nuts!
