Sarah is one of those rare lucky people who were blessed with brains, personality, ENERGY, vision, and creativity. She can just start from nothing--a shell--and turn it into utter perfection! I also like that the crews that she uses (equally talented in their fields) have been with her for a long time--that says a lot about a "boss!" And look at this place--IT'S A RENTAL!!! O_o
I'm so glad I found this and glad you are doing design, etc. on this station. I stopped watching HGTV over a year ago because it was the same thing over and over again. I really missed watching you create beautiful spaces. Thank you!
Ive just recently seen Sarah designing and I’m happy that she’s still making homes new. Many years ago I watched her on (possiblY HGTV) tv, now I’m watching on TH-cam and enjoying every decision she makes., and glad to see Tommie is still going along.
Love that you took the bench out of the Dining room and replaced it with all chairs, very happy that you changed your marble choice the new marble is a Complete Winner. Love Love Love your channel.
Oh my goodness…simply, simply, simply, deliciously refreshing. I miss this on TV in the states. It was that one evening with my wife where we enjoyed the moment together watching a great designer and being inspired.
As usual, I love, love, love all of the choices you make, and the way you and your design team collaborate to achieve the best work result for your client without egos clashing. It has been my pleasure to find Sarah Richardson Designs again.
Sarah dear I absolutely love you, your designs, talent. If I could afford you & talk you into doing my home in Arizona I'd be asking in a minute! You are my FAVORITE designer of all time. My only wish is you would reveal your paint colors & company on your videos. It would then be perfect!!! Please consider doing that. This home is beautiful as all Sarah projects are ~ in my opinion!
SARAH, WOMEN HOW MANY SHOWS DO YOU HOST OWN ?? THIS AS YOUR HUSBAND SAID ;BEST PROJECT. IVE EVER SEEN *** BAR-NONE YOUR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ALL CAME TOGETHER LIKE THE PERFECT STORM FLAWLESS THE REDOING REIMAGINING, THE SAWHORSES AS KICK OFF POINT !!! SARAH IVE LOVED ALL YOUR SHOWS BUT YOUR TOO YOUNG TO HAVE 10 SHOWS UNDER YOUR BELT !! TOMMY YOUR PERFECT !! THE GIRLS ARE BEAUTIFUL! DADDY'S FABULOUS!! DOES HE EVER GET UPSET ??? MOST EASY GOING MAN EVER !! KEEP IT UP !!!!
What's the (panelled same colour cupboard) design amongst the rest for??? complication to add to the otherwise nice design...why complicate a simple nice design and colour???
I actually like Sarah's style so much, it has alot of dimension I feel like the recent decor TV shows have had designers who work primarily with neutrals specific ally greys and with her and Tommy, they're very versatile with their design choices
Love the quieter colors of marble choice #2 and your idea to wrap a band of the marble around the quartz on the island! Love the marble handles (except the ones that broke!) and knobs, the design and colors of the 2 pendant lights above the island, and the 2 chairs you placed in the bay windows area, also! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Like both marble slabs. Appreciate Sarah sharing she was challenged by choices, so she chose second marble and she found her way. Slab #2 is an awesome choice for viewers going for contemporary coastal design. Love you Sarah, Tommy and Minister of Exterior!❤️
This kitchen design is both beautiful and crisp. But the colour palette is too chilly for my comfort. I do love that huge slab of marble on the wall, and the pendant lights. 🤩
Love how it all turned out. I chose that same marble as big slabs for my walk thru shower in the master bath. I loved how it combined both brown and gray, since my walls are taupe. My deco pieces are blue.
35:18 This is why you spend the extra 2 minutes reading reviews before you add something to your shopping cart to purchase. I have looked at marble pulls and read reviews detailing this exact thing.
Maybe I have said this to you before - but wow! I adore your renovations, such lovely colours and textures, and utterly drool- worthy! Thank you for bringing so much light into this old lady's life,,,,
I'm sorry they didn't use the bench...benches can accommodate more butts....esp children's butts. Wall paper going up the stairs is tricky...people dragging luggage up the stairs can tear the paper so easily...Yet the rest of the house is so beautiful!! It doesn't look like a rental house....it looks like a model home!👏👏👏👏👏
And the picnic table bench in the dining room lost out! You were right, Tommy! Too bad Sarah can’t seem to acknowledge your design expertise. You have a great eye, Tommy. From an accounting perspective, I hope the huge monetary outlay will pay for itself with the rental fees…although I am skeptical …maybe amortized over 5 to 10 years but doubtful it will happen in a year or two. Good luck!
@@ThatsJustPeachy1871 : It's not bitter ...it's truthful. It is a huge monetary outlay and recouping that money as profit is questionable - - from a finance perspective. Tommy is rarely given credit for the work he does --- and certainly deserves far more than Sarah is willing to acknowledge.
I ran into the same problem with my fridge which had the same design. I was fortunate that one side bumped against a counter that had an open space below for large trays. Losing an inch and 3/4 of tray storage hurt a little, but I was committed to the fridge. If I had cabinets above and below, I would have had a real problem. That wall had the sink and plumbing so I was also into that commitment. I just got rid of a couple of trays that I rarely used, and we cut the counter. Remodels can be tricky.
Can you imagine if when the guys put up that huge slab of heavy marble on the wall, Sarah said, “Oops guys, its upside down!” …and I’m so glad Sarah and Tommy took the bench and put in regular chairs, they look so much better.
Love the island something different and great design My only thing to much bits especially around the cooking area People when it’s not there’s just don’t care I have three casitas rentals Nice thing are for us to appreciate
!!!Perfect!!! + + + you have given me the genius idea of the raised counter (bar) I want to complete an L-shape kitchen. It's open and divided. I like clean lines and close off the kitchen busyness. I'm very excited finding your idea :D I was getting complicated w the reconfiguration of the kitchen. Gutting things out. Instead, I'm adding!! $$$ $aver / $tress relief!
The only thing I'd change is to continue the marble on the sink facing side to eliminate problems with splashing water and continuity to the rest of the marble bordering that section, and stools with no backs so it accommodates a broader range of folks while also inviting ease of interaction with the rest of the space.
I'm glad they ditched the bench. Glad they changed the marble. I did see one at the store that I was hoping they chose. ( The one behind Sarah at 10:16 ) I love the blue color of the cabinets and the marble that was able to be used in several areas. The fabric on the two chairs was really nice. Not a fan of all the gold decor. I feel like it takes away from the marble a lot, but that is just a personal opinion. I love the wallpaper too. I'm glad they didn't go bold.
Great design and beautiful outcome! Your one of my fav Canadian designers next to Candace O. I am however still bummed about removing the front door of the main house! Only because of curb-appeal! AND to head upstairs a person would have to walk through the living kitchen dining before going upstairs! Keep up the great designs and decisions!
I am working on a design for a kitchen layout. I love this one. Can you tell us the size of the room and how much space you like between the main sink and the counter behind it? Has this kitchen been functioning as well as you thought it would? I am especially concerned in my kitchen about the stove being on an adjacent wall across a central passage from one sitting (living room) space to the other (dining room). Thanks for any thoughts if someone has been able to utilize this gorgeous kitchen space. :)
I liked the bold marble however I understand the final choice for a rental home. Why didn’t you put a piece in behind the main sink? Doesn’t that backsplash need protection from water drops as well?

I too love vacuuming. Nothing as satisfying as the sound of dirt crinkling it's way up into a vacuum cleaner. Sarah is the absolute best.
He’s so right about the bench! Looks beautiful!

the renovation is stunning how ever I feel the charm of the original house is gone.
This renovation is so thoughtfully and masterfully done, it’s a triumph!

Another demonstration of design genius. Thank you, Sarah, for showing us how those big box cabinets can morph into statement elements! Blessings!!

As a rental, the green marble was still conservative but also memorable. To me, that is. 😊
Sue here: so so gorgeous!!! Love it. ❤
