It was an expensive mistake, but I can guarantee that the person in Story 5 won't be making a mistake like that again any time soon.

It was a big mistake no one noticed. When I was working in a department store, I was tasked with three sections: home, shoes and kids. Things were down for a while, so it was my job to stock what we got onto the shelves for sale. I stacked everything onto a Uboat that was a bit rickety, no big deal. The big deal was the fact I put on a glassware set that was on a middle shelf. I thought it’d be okay. Just before going out of the back area, all I heard was this dull but soul stopping crunch. The box fell to the concrete floor. Shit. That was expensive sounding. Carefully picking it up sounded even more expensive. I panicked and just acted normal, putting the box of now broken merchandise onto the u-boat and left to put it in its place, acting like nothing happened. I don’t think anyone found my mistake nor any customer until it was bought. I still feel guilty that someone potentially picked it up and ended up with a small piece of glass falling out of the box. Just to clarify, I did check it to make sure nothing was actually poking out of it that could hurt someone. I may be an asshole, but not an inconsiderate one

Not a massive mess up, but one time while I was working I felt a pop in my knee. I had torn my meniscus once again; it had been injured previously. I thought for sure I'd end up getting fired over it, but tried to convince myself my manager could not. I was a fool. Not long after I told my manager I was scheduled for a surgery next month, I was fired the week before I would go onto the operating table. His exact words were "I really feel this job is not meant for you, you are not fast enough to keep up with the orders so I'll have to let you go." Since then, I refuse to work for any fast food chain, even those who claim fair employment.

pretty sure it is illegal to fire somebody because of an injury/ having to get surgery…
      just looked it up
“Yes, it is illegal to fire someone based on a medical condition, including surgery, as this can be considered discrimination:
      Federal and state laws
It is illegal to discriminate against an employee based on their medical condition for employment decisions, such as firing, hiring, promoting, and training.
      Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The ADA protects employees from being fired for having a physical or mental disability or medical condition. Employers with 15 or more employees must make reasonable accommodations for disabled employees, such as time off or a modified job duty.
      Workplace injuries
It is illegal to fire someone for being injured at work or filing a workers' compensation claim. This is considered retaliation, which is against the law.
Whether an employer can fire someone for having surgery depends on several factors, including the employee's situation, state, employer, and employee status.”
idk if ur situation applies to you, but look i up and go for that bag 😂😂🙌👍

Not me but a coworker refuses to use the cut resistant gloves. This resulted in the fraze "bleed over the sink while I get the first aid kit." He is still there and has a nice new scar. Everyone had to take a safety course after that.
