The only really good gauge of talent in terms of juniors is the WJC and the sometimes the WJC U18… that’s when all the countries send their best talent… the U.S. was playing almost exclusively USHL players and no USNTDP players.
U18 isn’t necessarily because it’s in the middle of CHL playoffs.

Do people realize that every year Canada sends their best U17 team possible. The states pick random top aaa players.
I don’t know man, I see a lot of USHL and some major junior players there. And the US Development players aren’t great in that age group so likely the same outcome if the US sent them.
@@adammcmullen3050 When you look at past rosters you realize all 3 Hughes’, Caufield, Beniers, etc never played in Hlinka tournaments. Best players we’ve ever sent is Arthur Kaliyev in 2018

As an American, Canada winning doesn’t surprise me. Canada had a ton of CHL players on their roster while USA had layers still playing AAA.
