Only 4 goals against the whole tournament... Canada hasnt had much luck with goaltending for a few years now so its nice to see Carter George(U-18) and Jack Ivankovic giving us hope again for that.
@@twyzmo_real trust me I know. I was a goalie and had to quit because I couldn’t justify forking out 3+ K just for a set of pads catcher and blocker because I’ve run my stuff into the ground for the amount of kids that want to play hockey it’s way to over priced I heard just to play in the gthl minor hockey you’re looking at 10k + for your kid to play, ridiculous.
Desnoyers and guite played really well desnoyers may not have had all the points in the world but he was out there throwing the body around and getting involved on danger chance after chance, there was a few others on this team that really grew there stock for there draft, desnoyers is heading back to a loaded team too could end up being a top 10 pick. Happy with the results now let’s get another starting on Boxing Day
Ivankovic REALLY reminds me of Carey Price back in the early 00's. He's got the technique, sure, but he has the instincts as well, and reads the play like a champ. I wonder if next year a team will break the trend of not selecting goaltenders in the top 10 of the draft, and pick him there. 'Cause he's an absolute stud. Also, how about them Czechs? I'm really glad they're a 1st-tier team now, because they've worked so hard for it. A bit of a shame that Finland seems to be taking a step back though. And the U18s of today are the juniors of tomorrow, so it doesn't look great for them.
the world juniors would be the same as the Hlinka if it was also best on best every year. Imagine Canada's team this year - Bedard, Celebrini, Zach Benson, Easton Cowan, Berkly Catton, Andrew Cristall, Carson Rehkopf, Bradley Nadeau, Brayden Yager, Tij Iginla, Riley Heidt, Gavin McKenna. Every team is getting blown out with that roster.
@@Brich0974 It’s not scary to play with any bottom instead of normal teams, and pretend to be champions weak to beat Russia? in 2019 they lost 2:3, no desire to return the favor? or is it normal for them to play at this gas station WITHOUT Russia, which won this tournament TWICE IN A ROW?? they refused in 2021, what was the problem with refusing this year? oh, sorry, I forgot, another tournament held in Canada. apparently a “bonus” for the screwed up WJC 2022??
One would get the impression Western Canada has hosted too many of these types of Jr tournaments. The people are no longer interested in going to see it.
Would be nice if a group of Canadian players could actually bring the Stanley cup to Canada. Lost interest in pro hockey because Canadian teams never win the cup.
Not a Canadian based NHL team, hell no, they all suck. But an American based team with a majority of Canadian players will win the Cup next year. Just like we do every year since the Calgary Flames won it in 2004.
Isn’t Canada tired of winning at water pumps run for them? without a strong Russian team, but with guys to fight in the form of the Germans and Swiss... this is what I understand - a prestigious tournament (no)

Ya, it is nice to finally see. What has happened to goaltenders in Canada? We’ve really taken a step or 4 back in that category

Weird as I watched him play I had the exact same reaction. Stylisticaly very similar to Price. Hopefully he can become even half as good as Price was
Proud of our Canadian guys! 🇨🇦
