Good overview. I definitely learned some things. I'm guessing jade era is your go to?
Jade Era is where it's at. At the cost of limiting how quickly you can progress, you're not inhibited by zergs. It turns into groups of 5-10 people, and everyone ends up knowing each other. It's a cool community.
I'm going to assume that Seasons are akin to server resets in Rust, but a bit longer and with little changes each time? I know in Rust, that game lives and dies with server resets, especially in PVP. The beginning is the most open and chaotic which tends to be really fun, but then people become too entrenched, you tend to need more resources to crack a base than it's worth, and people start dropping off so there are abandoned bases everywhere. So a server reset tends to be necessary every 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on the server you're on and how active it is.
Unless there are little mechanical changes to a season, or you buy some kind of battle pass, I'm not sure why you'd need season in PVE. That tends to be okay with just relying on base decay, and having a bigger map.
Your correlation to seasons being similar to Rust resets is correct. Seasons are incredibly simplified. The seasons in Myth of Empires are PvP-exclusive.
The base decay in Myth of Empires is punishing, so you won't find many husks as you travel. Territory flags have a small radius (probably 30m) that stop things from decaying, but you have to reset them every two days. Guild boundary markers can be upgraded to a 125m radius, but you have to pay tribute every two weeks to prevent decay. After that, structures begin decaying at rates ranging from 0.4-16% per hour.
hello ty for your Video.
my friends and me are looking for new videos about Myth of Empires but there is no content at all and also steam chart says there are only 1-2k average players peak. is the game dead? and ar there so many hackers like the reviews says on steam?
The game is in a lull right now as we're waiting on the Persia DLC. It should be out by the end of March. It was supposed to be out by the end of 2024, so my "should be" is still wishful thinking.
I haven't encountered any hackers. I also play on the lowest populated era. The seasonal servers are global - so you're guaranteed to encounter a larger variety of people there. When season 3 started, several videos proliferated the official Discord - but I want to say like 80% of the hackers in the videos were banned within 24 hours. If I were to start over with my knowledge of the game today - I'd still recommend going to Jade Era - PvP if you want - and then playing Seasonal for your "PvP fix" if you're looking for that.
I've slacked on putting out new content for Myth of Empires because I've also been holding my breath for Persia - but I might start putting out more content aimed at newcomers soon.
