I love everything about this piece; the colors, the cat image, the collage papers. I like that you didn’t obliterate the entire background and let it come through enough that it didn’t take away from the focal point. Agree that copper and teal are a beautiful combination and would have been interesting but maybe on something with not as many other colors? Just my opinion but would love to see something with those elements. I’m a cat lover so anything with cats is fine by me. An owl, maybe? Not sure if you want to keep it a living element but maybe something funky using this technique like an old car or a house (nothing too detailed). Just throwing stuff out there. Thanks for sharing your creative process, Melissa. Always a pleasure watching you.
I think you’re right about keeping it simple on this one. I definitely want to find a way to incorporate some more of the metallic foils, because I love them! Thank you for the great suggestions! I love the idea of an owl and I will definitely be using that! I like the idea of a house or some buildings, too!
Looking forward to the human figures. I have been intrigued by others I have seen. Not a cat fan but this is great. I was hoping you wouldn't completely cover the background. Like the flowers but I probably would like the copper foil as well. Very cute and coloful.

How will you seal this?
I used Krylon triple thick acrylic spray. You could also use a gloss varnish. I believe Liquitex makes one.
