For many people this is the *gateway* sauce. I've not tried many of the varieties, but the classic will always have a special place in my heart. Many years ago my family live in LA and made a trip to Avery Island. The whole place smells of Tabasco sauce, in a good way. I'm growing my own peppers now.
In the past I had written off Tabasco as a simplistic and one-note flavor. But after learning how it's made, aged to perfection and basically hand crafted, I gave it another chance ... and right now I'm on such a Tabasco kick, I'm putting it on everything. It's the real deal. I usually keep a few different hot sauces in my kitchen ... always a Louisiana style sauce, a Mexican style (Tapatio is my favorite), and an Asian style (Sriracha of course). There's always a bottle or two of chipotle hot sauce kicking around, as that's my son's favorite. Tabasco ... its all over my kitchen right now.
You’re right you need at least three different sauces. We have Tabasco for eggs and potatoes and American style food. Tapatío or Cholula for Mexican food. Sriracha for Asian food (or chili paste or hot chili oil)
if you like tapatio you should try san luise or luize not sure the spelling but its a white plastic bottle, harder to find as uts imported from mexico (i think) i usually only see it in mexican markets.. i always keep srracha, formerly tapatio & a good louisiana style aswell.. seems we have similar taste in hot sauce.. i also really enjoy the "valentina"
I was really surprised when I learned that it's made out of ONLY chili peppers, vinegar, and salt. Just assumed it was loaded with this and that, like so manh things are today (those that don't even mean anything to the average consumer, such as regulator E221, color AB34, acid G672, etc.). Watched how Tabasco was made by chance and I really admire such classic, natural products! I LOVE the classic Tabasco and the green one, now trying out the different kinds as well.

My boyfriend used to insist on Tabasco on his scrambled eggs. He loved it. I never tried it, being a bit shy about hot sauces. He passed away a few years ago, but his love for that little bottle of sauce never left me. Maybe someday...😂

Tabasco hot sauce is very unique flavor. I don’t find it to be spicy at all but it adds good taste. I didn’t like it when I first had it ether but now I’m a believer. I still believe franks red hot goes better on things like pizza but Tabasco goes pretty good on deli sandwiches. Siraca is another sauce that is really delicious. Honestly the point is that I’m so happy to be alive in a time with so much flavor.
I had the water treatment (mostly boiler water treatment for their 3 small package boilers) for the Tabasco facility at Avery Island while working for GE Water Technologies. Since I am Tabasco's number one fan, it was my favorite account to visit twice a month!
I don't know if it still is but tobasco was a ration in British MREs, I should have finished more than half the vid before posting it lol. Good that they covered it.
Love the video. Being from Biloxi, I have taken several 500 hundred mile round trip motorsickle rides to Avery Island. I love Tabasco! It is my only hot pepper sauce. I heard the growing operation of the peppers that was spread out to other international areas occurred after several long ago hurricanes severely cut into the profits!! There is a great tour that is available, but beware!! The pungent odor seems to be too much for a lot of people. Also, the "baton rouge" was not mentioned. It is a stick with the exact shade of red that is used to assure the ripeness is correct by color and can be harvested. So much for showing off my knowledge of Tabasco!! LOL!!
I've enjoyed the original red hot sauce for decades, but only within the last couple years did I discover their chipolte sauce, and it's delicious. I wish I could find all these other flavors in my local stores.
My two favorites are the original sauce and Buffalo. Any time there is a spaghetti dish on my plate, I dash it with a generous dose of Tabasco, just because I enjoy that flavor so much. Regarding the Buffalo sauce, I can't eat chicken wings without it on. Just perfect zing to it!
Well, let's see...... I carry a bottle in a belt holster when I eat out, I have a sign on my truck that says"I love Tabasco", I buy my house bottle in the 12 oz. restaurant size, I put it on everything from pizza to eggs......is it possible I'm addicted to Tabasco?
Just had Red Lobster’s Admiral’s feast and topped off all the breaded seafood with Tobasco and my god was it good. Tobasco is breaded fish’s best friend.

Yeah some comppaies make hotter ones but to me when i cook and i cook for a living.. hot souce aint supposed to take over whole dish.. or if it does its the main ingredient and thats rarely the case neither it usually ends up being a good dish. I used to love tobasco, until I discovered tastier/hotter sauces abroad mainly 100% USA pure organic ingredients. Shop locally on farmers markets (they offer taste tastes) don’t buy the major brand Tabasco they outsource produced peppers to cut down rain forests. Locally grown hot sauces are more intricately designed, don’t accept preservatives or outsourcing of farming. Keep it in the US!!!
