Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy, 2 Franchises who were the pioneers of Storytelling in video games, and that made video games more cinematic. No surprises that they are on this List
Its great time to be alive. I remember in the past cutscene graphics used to be much better than the game itself. But now thanks to games like Death Stranding, they are the same!
Agreed, which is why in those cases I'm not bothered by it. You KNOW what you are signing up for. It's just games where you think there's gonna be lots of action and you sometimes spend more time waiting than anything. I love MGS4. One of my favorite PS3 games. But I will never deny it gets up its own ass with all the cutscenes.
@@mohammedsahelabduljabbar2253 That's the thing I hated the most, I have this muscle memory of being able to pause during cutscenes, and I skipped a lot by mistake.
Yeah lol, it’s quite ironic how Some people complain about games like God of war having way too much cutscenes yet they are hardcore fans of games like Yakuza which every single game has more cutscenes and dialogues with no audio more than any so called “movie” game
Modern video game cutscenes are completely atrociously abysmally horrendous, game developers should at least make them skippable, i've got important things to do instead of watching a 10 minute cinematic every few minutes, i wanna be a ''Player'' not a ''Watcher''. Cinematics are fine in short bursts, go back to the era of NES 8 bit, SNES 16 bit and old school PC games, cutscenes were tiny amount and consisted of 97 percent gameplay with roughly 3 percent cutscenes however now it's the absolute opposite. If you want to watch a movie then do just that, but a video game is about gameplay and interactivity, for instance look at Doom 1 and 2 no cutscenes with plenty of actual gameplay and non stop action, another example is Ninja Gaiden on NES although it has cinematics they're short straight to the point and skippable, also Manhunt 1 and 2 has short cutscenes which are skippable. There's certainly people who enjoy narrative story driven video games which is fine i get it, but as i've stated, decrease the duration of cutscenes and additionally give players the option to skip it if they choose. I recently played Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway on PC and enjoyed the graphics and gameplay but cutscenes contained therein are unskippable, it thereafter caused me to instantly exit the game and remove it from my PC with instantaneity of haste.
First thing I thought of with the title was Xenoblade chronicles 1 and 2 Edit: Yep! It's in there! XC2, one of the best game stories, imo, especially if you include Torna
It kindof started with squeenix and ff...and it was a reward for getting to a certain point...they were trying to show a more fully realised vision of their story cause realtime graphics weren't good enough...so when you played the game it was a bit like reading a book with your mind filling in the blanks...
FF13 should have been on this list. Just to remind everyone that 70% of the game are those prerendered cutscenes. Even the director admitted they wanted the game to function like a film.
I love narrative based games so I have zero issues with long cutscenes but if you’re talking about really long cutscenes last of us 1 has more then part 2
This is what made me not enjoy Japanese RPGs as much as I used to. I have no stomach for long cutscenes especially when it's only people talking to each other.
I don't understand the point of this video... You mean it's better to have multiplayer without body and soul with story, immersion and with a ton of generic characters? Gass today is the evil of the industry.

I love MGS4. But damn if you take out the cutscenes the game is really really short
It has to be metal gear solid 4 lol
Its great time to be alive. I remember in the past cutscene graphics used to be much better than the game itself. But now thanks to games like Death Stranding, they are the same!
Choice based games like Life is strange , Until Dawn, Detroit become human , walking dead are basically all cutscenes.

Maybe it didn't have the very long ones, but I remember DMC5 having a cutscene like every 30 seconds. Game drove me nuts.
Unpauseable too 🥲

@@Tarmax94 same 😭 , annoying af
Mandela effect
Also, why do you play DMC for the cutscenes? No one plays DMC for the cutscenes
Yakuza series should occupy most of the spots
Yeah lol, it’s quite ironic how Some people complain about games like God of war having way too much cutscenes yet they are hardcore fans of games like Yakuza which every single game has more cutscenes and dialogues with no audio more than any so called “movie” game
Persona 4 and 5 have no right not being here. The ski trip cutscene in P4 took me over an hour
I love cutscenes
Final Fantasy 14 could make a series of movies

I wonder if there is a video game whose cutscenes are so long that you could cook a 7 course meal before the cutscene finished

I first thought the Yakuza Series to be honest
Any Sony first party exclusives from the PS4 era
Not Bloodborne
Bloodborne is not first party! It was made by Fromsoftware
@@KennyMcCormic0 Oh yeah you're right
The hideo kojima games will all have the very long cutscene

Why in the hell Is Knack for ps4 not on this list
Need to watch the list still. But something is telling me MGS4 will be #1.
Metal gear solid 4 was amazing tho lol
Max Payne 3 is more of a series of cutscenes than a game itself
Star Ocean: The Last Hope was INDEED a great game! Wow
I enjoy the cutscenes 🤍
these types of games is why i miss the 360/ps3 era of gaming, hate this graphics>gameplay era
Kingdom Hearts 3 better be here that game was basically 10 pixar/disney movies in 1 game
So sad that video games, these days, have more cutscenes than gameplay
Even worse is that gameplay isn’t even gameplay anymore
I guess that’s why we called them video games
I disliked uncharted 4 because they reduced the action
One name come to mind. Kojima 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 🎮 #JakeHunter88
FFVR was a movie I just got to play as the main characters 😂 and I loved it lol
finally someone speaks of crisis core!!!! one of my fav FF games of all time!!!!
I'd rather watch a movie and PLAY a game.
why is that?
But I thought I had the documents..
God of War 2018 should be on this list. It may not be full with long cutscenes but there's a lot of times in that game where you're doing nothing.
I love narrative based games so I have zero issues with long cutscenes but if you’re talking about really long cutscenes last of us 1 has more then part 2
Xenosaga part of this??
The Getaway should've been on this list.
Do a list of games that people only go to for its arcade mode
This is what made me not enjoy Japanese RPGs as much as I used to. I have no stomach for long cutscenes especially when it's only people talking to each other.
Interactive movies
I love how this video makes this sound like too many cutscenes are a good thing.
What about The Order 1886, this game is literally a cut scene.
You forgot rdr 2
Should retitle this "Games made by Square-Enix and Kojima Games."
Most of Kojima games.
I don't understand the point of this video... You mean it's better to have multiplayer without body and soul with story, immersion and with a ton of generic characters? Gass today is the evil of the industry.
I skip every cut scene. If a game needs to take me out of the action to tell a story I'm not interested.
Most ps games would make this list they’re pretty much all movies haha
I watch playthroughs for the story cutscenes. Could give a sheet about the play unless the player is really bad, which interfere with the story.
Yakuza
I think cut scenes are mostly boring 😣
