Hello Richard! Im karla from south of brazil, and i thinking same way that you do. I love the collors of autumn. Now here at florianópolis island is almost spring, and today i went out to walk, indeed it was a beautiful day here in the south hemisphere.

Very lovely country walk! Loved the little woodland area & all of the ponds! I wish I could go out for a country walk & breathe in that clean air, but alas I can't even walk across my garden right now w/ out choking on smoke from all of the forest fires!🔥😷
Btw....its the other way around I believe as Anglers are someone with a line on a pole that they cast from shore (such as a river). Where as a fisher is anyone who fishes (land or sea). My Dad was quite the fisherman! 🚣‍♂️🐟🎣

Okay, here's an idea out of left field: explore the kinds of gates you typically find on your walks and explain why they are there and the attitude of land-holders to walkers. Could also do the kinds of styles you encounter. We have a different idea of where you can and cannot walk in the US.

Another nice walk! As fall approaches the trees will soon start to change color as they prepare for their winter sleep. Sometimes in a dry year, I've noticed that some trees seem to give up and retire early, probably to save their energy for next year. The thing to look for are the migrating birds, especially waterfowl. I just spotted a Loon today on our pond, all by itself, a very rare sight here! And a Brown creeper, at my feeder, a bird that normally doesn't use feeders, though I think the sunflowers were what attracted it, and it just couldn't pass up a free meal. Last year, I had 12 Blue Jays stop by on their way south, and they cleaned out 2 pounds of seed in 20 minutes flat!

Must be lovely to have all those birds on your pond.

Lovely 2nd part Richard, It is sad about the nature and small animals declining, let's hope it can get back on the rise again. Lovely woodlands and ponds I do like woodland and ponds.

I've really enjoyed these two videos Richard. I was down that way last week as Ma-in- Law lives in East Preston.

I live in Angmering and always wondered if there was a cut through to Poling, thanks for showing the route I jogged the church to church route today

Such a lovely place, the sort I’d love too. Sadly, no money either! We can dream!

A lovely walk - especially being so close to the sprawling conurbation time the south. I wonder if the lakes are remnants of the part of the Arun that used to go past angmering?

Quite a moving little walk today Richard. I am sure there are a lot of farmers who would like to be more ethical in their practices. It is the food chain that exploits them l worry about.

Great video and some truthful words regarding those that have to view from the pathways and dream. Unfortunately the world likes to feed the rich and the very few.. people need to stop concentrating on the celebrity and Instagram lifestyles.. and get a grip on reality!

Looks like a managed wood given the age and spatial seperation of the trees

Another interesting walk Richard, have to say that I smiled that you pronounced Angmering perfectly (I assume) yet stumbled over the word "circular", Ive never quite known how to pronounce Angmering personally and avoid it at all costs ;)

the ponds were dug on small wetland area known as ' the snipe' in the 70s for flighting ducks and later fishing. I believe my grandfather helped out as he worked the farm

You should contact Clem Fitzroy-Somerset about what gunk he puts on his fields all around there

    • @bobdillon2642

most of the land on this walk is owned by Keith langmead.
and what do you mean by gunk?

It's not the cows you want to worry about but the farm dogs

Yes, Richard, it would be very unfair to suggest that dairy farmers with larger herds don’t care for their animals so I’m glad that you didn’t. But regardless of that another fine walk.
