I spent three weeks in Scotland, Edinburgh, a few years ago. You people are absolutely awesome. I wish I coult meet a sweet Scottish lady. I would even adapt and eat haggish to please her. Hold your head high my friend, you're a Highlander! Love from Sweden
Some so called artists sound not even as studio version as good as this lady live. Brilliant. Amy was my first bought CD ever in my life, after the change in germany, never forget this music.
This is one of the most beautiful versions of this song I ever heard..Amy's haunting and lovely Scottish voice makes it totally unique. I love her style too! It is always super cool
Never been a Springsteen appreciator but have listened to him doing this and for me Amy nails it. She 'feels' it and articulates it whereas he just shouts it. I struggle with Scottish accents too, despite living quite close tot the border but I can understand with no difficulty every word she says and I like the way she says them.
This was my life before I met, proposed, and married my wife Victoria on ABC-TV on New Years Eve in Times Square. The wedding was shown live in front of 45 million viewers on Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve 85. Was truly tired sitting around trying to write that book. I needed a love reaction and 36 years later still getting one 💋
Aw my god!! What a perfect rendition of a beautiful song! Despite her obvious nerves, regarding the high class of who she was performing in front of, she absolutely performed into it and blew it away. She had the power of a queen by the end of it. Should be really proud of herself. Well done.
Credit to the orchestra and the sound guys and gals. How the orchestra balances, compliments and enhances Amys vocals without eever dominating and taking over. As a fellow Scot i cant believe i grew up listening to Amy and never heard of this cover untill now. Only 14 million views late to the party but waw i cant wait to listen again and again
I've been a Springsteen fan since the 1970s. I saw him live in his prime many times back then. This is a beautiful version of his song. I think she does a great job with it.
This was not written by Bruce. Song was first introduced by a band called The band wagon in 1931. Composed by Arthur Schwart and Lyrics by Howard Dietz..Truly beautiful song.
Wow, just heard this for the first time. What a brilliant version. Great voice and gorgeous lady. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Thank you Amy.
I'm a massive Amy fan and my eldest daughter who is 36 years old and is into Rap and R & B and didn't bother to listen to any of her music but I kept playing Amy's music and suddenly and eventually she became interested and is now a big fan too so it's now brought us together more by listening to each other's music and we have now such an eclectic mix and embrace all the music we play to each other .I've also got her into 60's music and I've got into Eminem and kid Cudi .Music really does speak to us and brings people together.I'm so happy and Amy is such a talented artist .I love it when she sings the line 'I take a look in the mirror ' and she gives a cheeky smile (makes me wonder if she is looking /singing to someone in the audience .
Thiis was not written by Bruce. Song was first introduced by a band called The band wagon in 1931. Composed by Arthur Schwart and Lyrics by Howard Dietz..Truly beautiful song.
Proof that a talented someone else can sing one of Bruce's lyrics in their own way and make FABULOUS music. Just need the same level of authenticity. Absolutely wonderful voice and expression.
Amy Mac is such a beautiful singer. She creates an awesome atmosphere being accompanied with her orchestra. A joy to look at and then listen back again with eyes closed.
What a gorgeous lady and she still sounds great one of the many that just keep going to make sounds that people love and enjoy good on you gorgeous keep going
Powerful and touching. Springsteen was a brilliant artist of lyrics, and this arrangement with Amy's voice offers us a fresh vision of the original composition.
I played this at my dad’s funeral , he had Alzheimer’s and dementia. It reminded me of it .Rip.27/06/1935 to 06/04/2024 . Michael Noonan : limerick Ireland , You know what is coming , but it still hard . i was driving up the rd about a week after it and i thought i seen him and was all happy for few secounds and then bang . you start thing your losing it. He is in a better place now tho
Wow, sie covert einfach mal so eine der ganz großen Rockhymnen und dann noch mit diesem süßen Akzent und diesen verspielten Tönen. Und es klingt einfach nur zauberhaft.
Always thought this sing is just all about 'The Boss' and then imitators but I really love your interpretation and it actually deepens my love for this song. A worthy demonstration of your talent.
I grew up listening to Springsteen and loved almost all of his music, with one notable exception being this song. I always felt it was way too pop for Bruce. So, hearing this version, with its different flow, different vocals, different....well, almost everything.....I'm surprised that I love it so much. This is really fantastic!
Thank you Amy MacDonald for this, your awesome Version of this Classic Song.
No gimmicks, no sexy outfits, no gyrations. Just pure talent and simple beauty.😍
100% correct. And what a talent she is.
Purely bliss ❤❤❤❤
Fair enough, Bruce had the better hip gyrations.
No gimmicks. Apart from a 30 piece orchestra. Apart from that.
@ an Orchestra’s not a gimmick. It’s a musical accompaniment for a singer, without one it’s a Capella. She’s singing with music.
Found something that actually makes me proud to be Scottish again. Thanks Amy!

It is awful! this song should be sung very powerful and loud and sung with emotion not like your in sunday school!
I think Bruce Springsteen might have performed this song already but I dunno for sure. ❤
she destroys totally the song!!!
Huge Springsteen fan here and I love this. I’m convinced The Boss would approve.
I didn't expect that, the Lady giving an excellent performance and different but impressing interpretation of the Boss' song. I love it.
Oh mein Gott, ich habe noch nie etwas so schönes gehört!
Danke Amy. Ich muss meine Tränen abwischen.
Eine göttliche Aura umgiebt dich liebe Amy!
God sure did bless us with TH-cam. How many of these voices would be missed by so many ears.
Beautiful voice and version, love it ❤
Every once in a while, exceptionally, someone makes a cover as good as or even better than the original. This is one of those times.
Like Hurt - Johnny Cash / Nine Inch Nails
That is exactly what it is.
Every once in awhile indeed - but this isn't one of those - a poor version.

How can as happend, that so "Psycho" like Trump for President is possible, crazy USA!!!
How can she sing with a huge grin on her face and smash this song too its core. She is unique.
This is a musician and a singer!! Pure talent and a real lady!

This is simply stunning.. What a brilliant arrangement.. In many ways this is just so beautiful too. Amy, you should be so proud of this.

I'm a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and this is totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!! This woman completely makes the song her own and kills it!
This is not a cover.. She makes it her own but still honors the original
It's the same with her "Born to Run" cover, I'd definately recommend it
