- Stunning video shows the moment a roller coaster rider in Arizona made the quick decision to climb out of his seat - right before the coaster was about to make a big drop - after he says his safety bar came loose. The rider made it onto a catwalk and climbed down stairs to safety. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.

The issue is large people should not be on these rides but force the operator to let them on . Im surprised the operator didnt get a signal on his controller that the lap bar was not fully activated
now how did you come to that conclusion when this story is about a malfunction and the ride operator not checking the safety bars

The employee didn’t check? How about you using your own common sense before it starts moving!! I’d call the employee over!

The way they are deisgned the centrifugal force would have kept him safe anyway.
