Intarsia Instruction Part 7 of 7, Applying a finish and completing the project.

  • In this video I spray a finish on my completed work. I also attach some hanging hardware and transfer my signature and bible verse onto the back of my project. I recommend adding these things to the backer before you glue your project to it. It is much easier to do before the project is attached, and it is less likely to damage or scratch the project. I sometimes forget until the end, and I have found that screws work much better than nails for the hardware. This concludes the instructional video series, send me an email if you have any questions!

    CY, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!! YOU WOULD BE A HOOT TO WORK WITH !!! OR SCROLL WITH !!! I JUST STARTED DOING INTARSIA AND HAVE BEEN WATCHING ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS. THESE 7 ‘’HOW TO’’ VIDEOS WILL BE A GREAT HELP. I HAVE BEEN CUTTING OUT MY FIRST PROJECT WHICH IS A SUNFLOWER IN A POT, SO I WILL USE YOUR TECHNIQUES AND SEE HOW I DO. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF INTARSIA !!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻

    First I thought omg 7 videos, I will never watch them. But then I started with the first and ended at last here. It was really very interesting.
    Thank you for sharing.

      +Stephan Pöhnlein Oh cool. I would have thought the same thing too, but an instructional type has so much info and procedure demonstration, figured a video on each process would be easier to swallow, or someone could just watch one. :)

    Hi Cy, I love watching your videos what ever it is they always put a smile on my face even when I've not had a lot to smile about as I'm waiting for hip replacement operation, my surgery is on the 19th of march so hopefully watching more of your videos will help take the boredom off my recovery. Keep up the good work.

      So awesome that you are the one! Or one of the ones!!! :) I also have a written tutorial on my blog that goes along with each video. This was a great idea to put together something like this. I figured it would be too boring, but making a separate video for each step makes it easier to watch, then someone can just go the video of the part they want to know more about. Sooo thank you very much!!! :D

    Awesome work, as always. It's been a while since I've stopped by and watched a video, and it pains me that you're still hurting, and sad. I wish there was something the community could do. Keep up the good work, inspiration, and spreading his word! God bless you and "hubby".

    When you apply the finish does it change the color of the wood . Thanks nice job

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it usually brings out the colors of the wood making them look more bright. Some finishes leave a golden hue that can be noticable on lighter colored wood which can be undesireable.

    Great set of videos! I don't have a scroll saw, but now I'm wishing I did! Do you sell the things you make? I really want to buy something from you. I bid on your toy story alien guy, but he went a little out of my price range.
