When he played for the Sens I was 10 years old and the only kid wearing a Daigle jersey in Detroit. After they played the Wings one night my father took me to gate where the visiting players came out at Joe Louis arena and go figure I was the only fan out there looking for the Sens players. Daigle came out to put his travel suitcase on the bus and I don’t know which one of us was more shocked when we saw eachother. After he did a double and triple take probably thinking WTF is this little kid doing in the freezing cold in Detroit wearing my jersey?!?! He came over and was the nicest and most humble guy to this 10 year old kid who was just in shock that he met his idol! Invited me to go to a later dinner with the team but we couldn’t go because my dad had to work in a couple hours. Long story long….for as much crap as he has gotten throughout the years I will never forget how awesome he was to this 10 year old fan in Detroit. Little did he know but he also made my father look the a hero that night for waiting in the cold winter night for a slim to none chance I would meet my idol. My son is playing in Quebec for the 2024 Pee Wee tourney this year and hearing he coaches Pee Wee in Montreal I hope I get the chance to thank him for that memory if his team is there.
When I was in my early 20’s, Daigle was in Ottawa, and I worked at a place that many Sens frequented. There were a couple of guys on the team back then, one in particular, that I did not like dealing with. Alex was easily the friendliest and just so funny.
That was fantastic guys, thank you so much. I remember all the negativity surrounding Daigle, including the “boom to bust” legacy. It was great to hear more about him, and get to know him as a person through the interview. Well done!
I still remember in ´93 when my Dad brought me to Valiquette’s on Wellington Ave. in Ottawa to get an autograph from Alexandre Daigle…he was so nice to me, he laughed and remarked that my name was also Alex…the building is still there, it’s been Thyme and Again for many years…thanks Alex Daigle, always a good guy in my books
Great energy like Andre Roy's interviews, need a part two. Suprised no mention of his past dating history. His season in Minny was underrated, he looked great that season.
love this guy! Have his autograph right next to me too so I was a bit hyped for this interview. Was his time with the Sens amazing... not really. It was a difficult time for the team as one of the worst expansion teams in NHL history, there was not as much talent around him compared to later top picks like Karlsson, Zbad, Brady, or Stutzle which probably stunted his development to a degree; no Alfie or Stone-like player to help guide him into the league. Wish he turned into a superstar, but he did end up having a pretty solid career and an overall pretty good showing for his draft class. In a redraft he'd probably go mid-late 1st round, but he is a Sens legend just for the fact he was a good player for the team at a time we did not have too many of those. Though I can't be too mad at him either because he indirectly led to Spezza and Chara becoming Senators. Come on boys get Yash on the podcast! :)
Daigle was never a bad player, he did stick around in the NHL for quite a while. I wouldn't call him a bust because a bust is out of the NHL within 3-4 seasons usually.
OMG! What a riot. I really hope Alex can become a regular on the show.

My favorite player ever! He played junior in my hometown EACH GAME WAS AN EVENT! As a 10 y/o kid at the time he was our hero!
Great stuff. Never knew he was such a fun guy.
Such a treat! Daigle is a beauty. Miss those years.

Another fantastic interview 🥳 Entertaining 🎉🎉💕
What a beauty! Great episode
Always liked Daigle. Met him in Carp a couple times when I was a kid. The hype when he was drafted was mega.

Awesome show boys. Alex seems like so much fun.
Beauty episode again. Love knowing more about the Daigle! Was a fun guy.
Had no idea Daigle was such a beauty
Man brings me back to my childhood. Would it be a foul to get Daigle on a current jersey?
Great stuff, such a candid guy. Laughed a ton, thanks guy. Keep up the good work.
Very entertaining show! Great questions and even better answers. 10/10 would recommend.
Great stuff !! Nice to here Daigle
The funniest episodes have mostly been expected (André Roy, for example). This one I wasn't sure what to expect and it was so fun!

Good show boys 🎉😂😂😂

lets go!
I was sooo frustrated with Daigle when he was here. We fans were so invested. He wasn't. Very frustrating. GSG!
Hire Daigle!
Why don’t you guys just record the ad reads as to not interrupt the flow of conversation
Because they are sold as live ad reads :)
@@CIHwWallaceYorkandSimpsongotcha - hope the premium on the live reads is enough to fund all the well done steaks you could ever ask for 😎
I knew right away that Daigle was not going to cut it when he dressed up like a nurse. He did not take his training seriously during the summer.
